Downing Lawncare LLC

Downing Lawn Care has been doing trim work and Spring and Fall cleanup at my parents house for the last several years. This year they have totally dropped the ball. Noone came out to do the regularly scheduled Spring clean-up, noone has come out to do the bi-weekly trim and noone has tried to contact me. I did get ahold of Seth and asked him about the Spring clean-up that had been scheduled 4-6 weeks prior, he told me he would have someone out there in the next few days. After two weeks, I emailed Lori and asked her what had happened. She told me that Downing grew faster than expected and would not be able to get to residential services until after mid June. You would think that being a regular, great customer that we would have warranted a phone call or email letting us know that our services have changed. Very disappointed in Downing... not sure what happened... but customer service for this company has nosedived this year.

lawn is slowly loosing its weeds

I originally was told that I would be notified when someone was going to show up and unfortunately I wasn't. Due the crazy amount of rain we had in April, they had a hard time forecasting when someone was going to come over. Good thing I came home on a lunch break! Other than that, the work that was completed looked excellent. We were out of town last summer and my flower beds needed a lot of work. I'm very grateful that I hired Downing Lawncare for the job.

Went as expected and we are getting estimates for tree and bush trimming.

the crew of both the spring cleanup and grass cutting have done a great job. Very happy with their service.

They were on time and very professional. I needed all my flower beds redone and my lawn redone. They were great!! <br>

This company is great. We have used them for over ten years. They cut about 3 acres for us, do it quickly, blow off the driveway and sidewalk and are always professional. When it snows a lot they find a way to fit us in to remove snow from our driveway (330 feet) even though I know coming out to help us loses money for them because of the time they could spend doing large parking lots. We've also had them fertilize our grass and put down weed stuff! You won't go wrong by using them!

EXCELLENT! Two days of hard work by a crew of at least 3 each day (we have 5 acres) They were meticulous, professional, and I think every single tree, bush and weed was removed or improved. Our yard has never looked better! Thank you to the men who worked so hard and did such fine work.

This is the second year I have been with Downing Lawn Care. Last year, they did exactly what they said - four applications of fertilizer and weed killer and weekly mowing. Those services were not high tech. But last year I discovered a large area in my front yard that was infested with grubs. I found it and diagnosed the problem - NOT Downing Lawn Care. When I called the office to report the problem they said that someone would be out. Someone did come out and excitedly announced to my wife that "Grubs were in the front yard". DUH! They applied an expensive remedy several weeks after I had purchased a less expensive grub control at Home Depot and had already applied it to my lawn. <br /> They advertised landscaping services which I contacted them about. "Tom" came out and one of the company owners also came out once after not hearing anything from "Tom". (The owner told me he did not usually do lanscaping and "Tom" would take care of it). After not hearing anything about a landscaping plan I called the company but never heard anything more, so I have since contracted with another company. This is a landscaping project in the area of $50,000 to $100,000 so its no small project. I can only assume Downing Lawn care is not up to the job. <br /> This year I received notice that Downing is raising its rates. Okay. But they have not been by for over a week to cut my grass. In fact, the grass is so high it is going to seed! My house looks like no one lives in it! I expect Downing to show up sometime in the next week to cut the grass, but I do not expect them to rake and clean up the high cuttings - which my lawn will need. <br /> Downing has raised their rates. Justifiably I have raised my expectations which so far they have not met. I am seriously considering either contracting with another lawn service or buying a lawn mower at Sears and cutting the grass myself. <br />

When my wife and I built are first home, the contractor that laid the sod initially did not do a good job, and despite my best efforts to save it, most of my yard was already dead. I attempted to resolve this with the initial contractor multiple times, but they were never willing to come out and fix what they did. I heard about Downing Lawn Care from a friend, and called them up to ask for help. They were very understanding, and worked with me to fix my yard and make it as affordable as possible. Within a few weeks they were out at my house patching up the numerous dead spots and giving my lawn it's first seasonal treatment. They worked quickly and left no sign that they were even there, aside from the now healthy-looking lawn. I will definitely be using Downing Lawn Care in the future for any other lawn problems.

It went very well. Because of the winter it took some time to get them out for an estimate but they were very responsive. When they got here to do the work, everyone spoke to me. They were very courteous and they did fine work. It was everything I wanted.
