About us

Dream View Exteriors was started in 2001 and was primarily a new construction based company. DVE installed roofing, siding, windows, doors, and decks for most of Delmarva's home builders for over a decade. After realizing that the construction industry was not prepared to use the quality of products that DVE is a custom to they decided to provide existing homeowners with high-end home improvements by their own specialists. With a no subcontractor policy DVE takes pride to use individual replacement specialist for each of their listed services. In doing so they are the only company in this area to have never had a BBB complaint, to have only glowing remarks in their Angie's List reviews, and have more repeat customers than anyone else in Delmarva. DVE only uses the best products available in an effort to offer only truly Lifetime Warranties. Being Certified by all of their products manufactures they are able to stay up to date with all training and new and improved products. Additional email - mandvhome@yahoo.com. I didn't continue to go with them because I was afraid that if I force them and let them finish the job then I would end up in a worse situation. They were so horrible. They were just really awful. They never finished the job, actually. So, I ended up paying like $20,000 for a job that other people come here and go, "Oh my God. I can't believe the siding guys didn't put that back on for you." They were supposed to put back the thing that you plug lights in to. They were impossible to get a hold of. They just kept apologizing. It was just a really bad experience. It's sad because my neighbor had a really bad experience with them too. I thought that their price was fair. They were a good $10,000 to $12,000 cheaper.

In the time that I spent with them, there were 4 separate different management groups with different people associated with each group. It was a very disjointed experience. In doing their work, they did not tell me that I needed to remove items from the inside walls. I did not know work on the outside of the house would affect the inside of my house and as a result I have lost several collectible items that meant a lot to me that cannot be replaced. The first man I spoke to, John Mooney, was probably the best one out of the 4.

Several things happened throughout the process dealing with these 4 people that I have still not received satisfaction regarding. All four managing groups said they would fix the problems I brought to their attention and they never came back. These things were still never repaired and this company is still not stepping up to the plate. Specifically, there is work on the outside of the windows to be repaired and the inside of some of the windows have to be completed. Many of the details have not been completed (ie: gaps and other things that relate to their appearance). Their attention to detail is lacking. All Side (the siding portion of management) brought a large residential dumpster and put it in my driveway. Three of the four management groups told me that the weight caused to break parts of my concrete driveway. It was eventually moved to the street and I believe it the extra weight of the machine used to move it may have caused the damage as well. The man who was with All Side (not John) accused me of just wanting a free driveway which was incorrect and offensive. This has also not been repaired even after numerous attempts to reach out to them by phone call and text. All four groups came to look at these various things, said they would repair them or take care of them, and they never have. They would call me back when I reached out to them at first but never fixed the problems. My driveway is now cracking and crumbling apart. Essentially, I feel I have been getting the run around and I haven't heard from anyone in months as they don't return my calls anymore. I also requested multiple times warranty information for the entire remodel and I only received it for the roofing portion. They do not seem to operate with good work ethic.

It was very frustrating because of delays, he told me it would take about 2-3 weeks initially, and took well over 3 months. It was very difficult to get a hold of this provider, and to get them out on the dates that were scheduled. We live in a community with a Home Owners Associations and needed documents in order to do our project, which took over a month to get turned in. I have since tried to get a hold of the provider regarding our windows not working properly, but still have yet to receive a phone call back. It is disappointing that this company will not return my phone calls after the job has already been paid for.

It was a total nightmare and I am still dealing with them. All of this started roughly back in July 2012. They put a new roof for me which was fine. I had new windows put in all through the house which was a total nightmare. I finally just got the windows completely fixed because I had a couple problems with them from the time they put them in and like I said this contract had started since in July and in July they didn't put the windows in and it was in the winter time when they pout them in, that is how long it took because they kept getting everything wrong, they had the wrong size windows and ever since they put the windows in I have had a problem with the windows fogging up on me. But only on the outside, not in the inside and between the panes of glass on the outside. So in the summer time if it's hot outside and I have my air conditioner on inside, I literally cannot see my next door neighbors house, because I am liked fogged up and they are telling me it's normal. There was about maybe three or four guys. Plus they also put a brand new front door on for me and a storm door, that's been a total nightmare, that is not even completed yet and it has been a year. I have been waiting now for over a month to have the correct hinges and pins put on the interior door because the ones that they put on that supposedly came with the door are the wrong size so they are all Jig-Jaggy so the door doesn't close properly and the storm door that they put on the guy didn't use what you would call a striker plate so that you can lock it., it doesn't lock. Now they supposedly have ordered these parts. I don't know how many times from the manufacturer and this have been over a year now that i have been trying to get all of this completed and I still don't have it. When they do come out to do something when I couldn't get them, they show up but the problem is getting them out here.

I went back and forth with them doing the job. It was quoted for completion in five days and it took at least five weeks. They would call in and cancel every day. I would take time off work and then I would to justify to my own boss, so I tried to make them understand, I went back and forth with the manager and so on. Bottom line is they are very disorganized because they are so many teams and there is no supervisor. However, if I had to hire each team separately, I would have gotten excellent work because the actual workers know what they are doing. However, there is no coordination between the teams. They got somebody coming for windows, another one came in for siding, another one would come in for different things, and so they would have to stop and start repeatedly. There was lot of gaps in getting the job completed because there wasn’t any good upper management. The worst part is this happened last week when we had our first major storm and I have literally a waterfall coming through the new wall that they built for me and put siding in! I am not having them back because they could not do it right the first time. I went back and forth with them for a long time, I would call tell them daily and as them what about that, are you going to do this, what about this and that, and it was like I had to remind them or negotiate with them. I am semi-technical, so I do have some background in some of this so I am not a typical customer or somebody that would say okay, just get it done. I know enough of the industry to know what components belong in a wall, so I was able to talk to them and say, “Are you going to put that flashing in around the window?” and so on. What I have right now is a beautiful looking exterior and then when it rains, I have water coming inside the walls and one can see it because the wood is damp and everything. Unfortunately, I have to incur more cost to get this repaired because I have water damages. I could certainly follow through and sue them or go down the path to get them back here to fix it but if they weren’t willing to fix it or do it right the first time, then I don’t want them back again. This isn’t tiny stuff like leaky or damp, this is water flowing across the entire wall above your head, luckily it is structure outside, so it is not coming into the house but the interior is still wood and if it gets wet, it would rot and compromise the structure. Technically, every one of those guys knew what they were doing; I would hand them the keys to my house but the problem is that there is no coordination between the teams from the management. For example, we ordered seven new windows with them, they installed them and the new windows had three screens with rips in them. They acknowledged it, they said they would reorder them, this was in July and we are still waiting for the screens, how complicated is that! They promised me that if I paid them their last check, they would come back if need be and at that time of course, everything looked good, so there was no reason for me to question it at the time. The only outstanding thing was the window screens, they said it was already ordered and will be delivered to me, and of course, there is no way to tell if it is leaking until the next rainfall, which we just got last week. It is very frustrating. They did a great job in marketing, they were fantastic at that, and they are fantastic as far as their workers go but the management and the coordination is very, very poor. I am not happy at all but I actually liked the job.

It was great. They did a fabulous job. They did as we asked and came when we needed them. There was a problem, they came right back and fixed it. They were very quick and did what they said they would do. I was very impressed with them. They were very professional. We had different quotes and they were very good.

I thought they were professional, which is why we hired them. I haven’t met the workers but my husband met one of them but I met the manager of the company who does the estimates. Their pricing is comparable with everybody else we got quotes from. We got on line with them one day and they were here the next day. They are just starting the work in September.

They did a poor job of installing the deck, since they left no spaces between the boards to allow water to drain. The water also pools in the middle of the deck. They also left a pile of concrete, reinforcing wire, and plywood behind. They also drove their truck through the yard and said that they would fix it. They didn't.

They have not returned calls to get them to come and finish the job, nor have they been helpful in collecting their abandoned materials.

Update: September 2013.
After 9 and one half months, Dream View Exteriors removed their debris and concrete from the site. They power washed the deck and spread grass seed on the wheel tracks in my yard. They furnished and placed a flagstone stepping stone between the deck and the porch. The deck boards remains as installed. I now consider this matter closed since the deck boards cannot be changed. I would be reluctant to use this vendor again..

"I do apologize for your inconveniences. Your deck boards are tongue and groove and cannot be spaced apart. I will send someone immediately to take care of the left over materials. Please reach out to us at our office if there is something we can do to mske it up to you."

Quality product; Great Service; Great price. Its is said you can only ever have two of these qualities...not here! OUTSTANDING customer service! EXTREMELY talented carpenters! Friendly and helpful sales and service staff! They made the whole experience most enjoyable. We will be having them back on our next project! They
were very competatively priced and delivered an HGTV Magazine-quality deck for my family! No complaits whatsoever. Their care for the customer shows in the work they do, and the products they use! Definitely "The People's Choice"! I give 10 out of 5 stars! We truely feel blessed to have found a contractor we can trust.
Dream View gave us a estimate on April 22, and within three weeks the work was complete. Dream View does not use subcontracts instead for the windows the manufacoror that makes the windows does the installation. Everyone involved was extremply polite and courteous. I was intially nervous knowing that people were going to be in and out of my home, but the installers actually took their shoes off when they were inside! Me or my wife can not say enough about how great the company is and we will definetly use them again for all of our home projects. Thanks DVE !!!!
From the start the experience was amazing. We first met our sales man Robert Jones during our initial estimate. My and my wife were floored with his professionalism and his ability to explain the process and the product. Dream View do not use sub contractors and that was very evident when the crews came dressed with company shirts. The project managers involved were at the site the entire process. Dream View was punctual and professional through out the entire job. Although Dream View was not the cheapest quote we received, I have learned over the years of owning multiple houses that the cheapest is not always the best route. The extra money that the project cost was made up for in the high quality of products, the lifetime warranty on all products and the expertise of the crews at the job. Before my home was dull and way out of commission, but now we are thrilled with our new home. I loved my Dream View experience and plan on using them again in the future.
Dream View Exteriors was Wonderful!....
When calling the office I was able to get the estimate right away when I explained the leaks I was having. The guy who came out was very knowledgeable about there products and made our decision quite easy. We had gotten a few estimates before Dream View and there prices were through the roof (lol). The roof was done Quickly and Professionally as promised. The clean up was exceptional! I would recommend Dream View Exteriors to everyone!
Very frustrating to deal with. Our salesman swore they do not sub-contract out, but they do. They did a no-show 3 times to start the job and never called me. I had to continually call them only to have no return phone call until I finally dealt directly with the owners.
The overall finished screen porch is wonderful! I have no complaints. However, the majority of the work was subcontracted to Red Well Construction. Red Well did an excellent job, and paid attention to details. Dream View, however, did not perform very well.
To begin, the contractor changed their original estimate by over $1,200, claiming they had not calculated enough for the roof. I went ahead with the contact, and should not have been surprised when twice as many sheets of plywood showed up for the job than needed. They claimed the wood that was at my home for 4 weeks was for another project.
Also, if I had had not been there on the morning of the concrete pour, the concrete pad (and the porch) would have been 6 inched too short. The final straw was the almost 2 week delay that was caused by issues they had with their subcontracted electrician. Apologies were made, but still the entire project (and mess in my driveway) was placed on hold for a 2-3 hour electrical job.
Had I know they major portion of this job would be subcontracted, I would have not used Dream View.

Dream View Exteriors were excellent. They're very thorough. They took the time to come to the house and they were on time. They came to the house, sat down and they went with everything with what they have to offer. It was a very, very good experience. They gave us what it was they were going to be building, the kind of materials and the choices that they provide. It was a very thorough experience. They're pretty good. The deck that they built were based on the joint sketch that I gave them. I would recommend them to anyone that wants it made professionally well done. They did the timeframe and they stuck within the time frame that they were they were going to do.

They were excellent. They were fantastic. Their services were great. Their representatives were very good. They were exact. They came out when they sad they were going to come out and they did a fantastic work. One thing he did that impressed me immediately was "Do you have an attic? Can I go upstairs to your attic?" He is the only one of all the people that did. He came up and he looked under to see exactly where the water stains were. The guy came out, Robert Jones, he went and looked at the stuff. He gave a good price and a good warranty on the two areas. He showed where the leaking was. We worked out the date and these guys were there on the day they were supposed to be coming. It was like a two-day job. They are very responsive, very quick and very good job. They did what he promised to do and when they promised to do it. He showed more knowledge and professionalism than some of the other ones.

Everything went very well. The project was within budget and very few issues were experienced. We didn't have a the complete vision regarding what e wanted. The overall experience with them was pleasant. They were willing to work with price based on comparable quotes from other vendors while still remaining fair and doing good quality work. Did my entire roof in one day and cleaned up afterwards. Jack was great at explaining what was going to be covered and was very good at getting back to me when I would email him.
I scored them a "B" on professionalism only because they crushed some of my plants out front of my yard when tossing down debri and I had to wait an extra day for the garbage container to get picked up before i could park in my driveway again. However, I would not let that small superficial detail stop me from using them again.
