I used this company to clean bathtub drains & install new shower heads & 2 bathrooms. They did a nice job - punctual.

They showed up on time and were professional. They came out and only brought 1 shower head for me to get put in. I called the owner and requested that I be able to purchase my own shower head which I did and they came out and put it in for me.

The installation of the new shower head went very well. The plumber was finished in 15 minutes and the shower works well. He arrived on time and cleaned up after himself. <br />

I had put the project off for a long time because I was on sabbatical.  They said it was not a problem and did the job about four or five months later.  They came and did what I asked them to do.  The guy was a little bit hesitant to do it from the inside and wanted to do it from the outside.  I took him downstairs and the place inside. He got the work done.  He got to a point where he said that he saw a problem.  But there was no problem with the sewage flowing through.  I asked them to give me an estimate for what might be their charges.  But I never heard back from them.

DR had a special on shower heads and we ordered one. They were prompt and professional with the installation. However, we had a number of other issues that we discusses for future plumbing projects (toilet, diverter in upstairs shower) etc. and after he took various measurements the installer said his office would be getting back to us with estimates for that additional work. We never heard back, even after we left two messages. <br />

When Don finally came, he did not locate the direction of our lateral or where it tapped into the main before he began digging in the center of our back yard the morning of April 8th.  He dug a 12 ft deep hole before telling my wife he had a family medical emergency and would not be back until the end of the week.  PA-American contacted us and said Don told them my wife had agreed he could delay the work since he had a emergency at another job site!  We insisted Don return and finish the job.  When he returned he continued to dig in multiple areas looking for our lateral which he never found but was successful in digging up an area in our yard measuring approximately 35 feet x 32 feet.  He then told us he was convinced our tap in was in our neighbor's yard and we needed her permission to dig there.  Our neighbor was horrified at the mess in our yard and of course didn't want the same to happen to in hers given Don STILL was not able to locate the pipe and was guessing where to dig.  The last straw came when Don's secretary, Jackie sent a new quote for $5,687 for an entirely new line which would have resulted in digging through 33 feet of my concrete driveway.  The quote did not include replacing the concrete. <br /> We told Don to leave and hired a new plumber who found our lateral and the tap-in to the main sewer line within 30 minutes of being on the property and advised us not to dig given the issue was at the main which the township was responsible for.  The township came and fixed the problem from inside the main - No digging should have ever been done!  However, our yard is now dug up from all the digging Don did and he cracked a section of our driveway when he rapidly drove his backhoe out of the mud pit he created and onto our driveway after learning we no longer wanted him to do the work.  I wish Angie's list allowed the posting of pictures and video as you would not believe the mess DR Plumbing created. <br /> <br /> <br />

After making first call and setting up appointment, the company called and said the wrong pump came in. Several weeks later and a call to Angie's List, and installer came out and installed the pump. It is exactly what we needed. <br />

It went well, Don and Jackie ordered the material I specified, scheduled promptly when the material arrived, showed up a little early, worked diligently until the work was done, about 3 hours, cleaned up, and was gone. It was a stress free project. <br /> It is extremely important to mention that they did this, including changing some of the rough plumbing, without damaging my walls. I mention this because another plumber, who had a higher price, had stated he couldn't do the job without damaging the walls. The access panel didn't change between the two plumbers, just the willingness to put forth the effort to do a professional job. I would definitely engage Don again. This is one trade for which I no longer have the need to shop, Don will get all my plumbing work. <br />

When I called to arrange an appointment for installation, Jackie was very responsive, and set up an appointment about two weeks out.  Unfortunately,  that appointment had to be canceled as the supplier for the pump had sent the wrong pump.  About two weeks later Jackie called to say the pump was in, and arranged for installation on the following Saturday, only about three days after her call.  We also communicated via email.  She was very quick to respond to emails, so we avoided all the back-and-forth that phone calls cause. <br /> The actual installation went well, and took about two hours.  Don arrived a bit later than originally planned, but it did not present a problem for me on a Saturday.  There was a small glitch in setting the pump timer, however as soon as I realized it, I emailed Jackie and within an hour she had responded and explained how to fix that - a very simple process of moving a switch from one side to the other. <br /> This system works wonderfully.  I can't tell you how wonderful it is to have hot water almost instantly at all the faucets!  I also had a question concerning the  pump which is made by Grundfos and their customer service replied to my email within an hour! <br /> I did ask if I provided a new faucet for one bathroom, could Don install it while he was here.  It is this company's policy to install only equipment they provide.  I understand that because they have to guarantee their work, and can't guarantee customer provided equipment. <br /> I would use this company again. <br />

The service fast, efficient, pleasant, and professional.  To make things even better, D R Plumbing had a "special offer" going on for replacement of outdoor spigots.  Although I don't recall the exact price I paid, the important thing is that there is no question it was fair. <br /> I'm sorry I can't remember the owner's name offhand, but YES, I'd use his services again, if needed.  THANKS, D R! <br />

He seemed very competent and professional. The work quality was good and they were very prompt. I was pleased with them.

I did not actually see all what was done but my brother was there and he said that when they got there they snaked 2 drains in our parents basements and then poured water down them. Since they came my parents have not had ant problems. <br />

The gentleman was very polite. I took him to the bathrooms. While doing the work he showed me the issue with the drains, then suggested two ways I could deal with it. He finished the work, explained how to work the new shower heads. Suggested where I could buy a part to help keep the drains clean. I signed the paperwork and he left.

The gentleman came on time were very professional and very polite. The gentleman in charge set down with me and discuss the exactly what they were going to do. Then we did a walk through the house and he explained what was going to happen. He then did a violation of this furnace assistance and give me recommendations on what needs to be done there. He made suggestions and offered up remedies. <br />

Re: Scheduling:  I had some problems getting the appointment scheduled.  The day after I purchased through Angie's, DR Plumbing contacted me the next day (via phone).  It took me about a week to get back to them and I left them a voice-mail.  I followed up with an email a week later.  I then got an email from them, requesting to schedule (this was from a different email address than what was provided in the coupon.  I replied to that with my availability and never heard back.  I called them again and they finally called me back a day later to schedule.  Luckily, I wasn't in a rush to get the shower head installed.   <br /> Re:  Installation and drain cleaning:  The installation and drain cleaning went well, with one minor exception.  When the installer arrived to start, I asked him to take his shoes off.  He actually said to me, "I have one rule, I never take my shoes off when I do work in a house, b/c it is such a pain."  I was really surprised he said that.  I explained that it was raining out and he needed to go upstairs (and walk over our carpet).  He obliged and took his shoes off (btw, he didn't have covers, either).  I thought his response was unprofessional.  Outside of that, he was very nice and good and done in <30 minutes.  I just don't understand why you'd ever say that to a customer, especially when you are going to take your shoes off anyways. <br />
