Poorly. I didn’t know until I started to paint the exterior just how poorly it has gone. I had a good experience with the repairs guy, the tenters arrived on time and I guessed that went well. My issue is that I was supervising renovations on the property when the subterranean technicians supposedly completed their job. Not even the plumbers who were working on the main line underneath the house could verify that the exterminator had been there to deal with the subterranean treatment. I called to express my concern and the woman in the office was neither pleasant, nor helpful and insisted that if the tech reported he did the job, thank it was done. This was in November 2019 shortly after I closed escrow and before I moved in. Fast forward to March 2021, 16 months later. I was prepping the exterior of the home to be painted and discovered large portions of termite damage. Having the issues I had reported to the company via written complaint not acknowledged as well, I called Orkin. A tech came out and did a free estimate with photos (something D&S Termite never did), and told me it looked very unlikely that any subterranean treatment was done considering there was no sign of trenching. Now I have to pay AGAIN for subterranean treatment because they are clearly signs of active mud tunnels and damage. Not happy then. Not happy now.

Willful Disregard We just had the house tented for termites. We call D&S because they did a great job 15+ years before. They were not the cheapest, but we went with them because of the good previous work. The sale person was on time and professional. It went downhill from there. D&S is not the same company. I’m still having a hard time comprehending the willful disregard for our safety and our property and unprofessionalism during and after the work. The list is long but will keep it down to a few highlights. 1-They had no Corvid protocols in place, 2- Pull several plants up by the roots and threw them over the bank 3- Broke over 50 tiles on the roof 4- Remove gutters and left them hanging 5- Damaged the new solar system. 6- Two works used the bathroom, peed on the floor and wall, and did not flush the toilet. They have no customer service and no sorry. I wish I were exaggerating. There are so many other companies that use someone else.

The inspection person was professional and thorough. He was helpful in recommending the level of service we needed, suggesting that spot treatment of affected areas would be sufficient to control termites for the next several years. The treatment itself was done promptly and without inconvenience to us.

They did a fine job. They came out, did their work, cleaned up, and left. The best part of my experience was the efficiency of them. They came in and get it. There really wasn’t a bad experience. They were careful about stepping on the plants and stuff. They were very courteous. They were recommended to us by some people and I think they were on Angie’s List too. Their responsiveness was good. They got out there pretty fast. They were right on-time.

Fumigation crew arrived at designated time. Very polite, very professional. As the gas had been turned off as necessary for fumigating, the worker reminded me to phone SDG&E to schedule the gas to be turned back on. They tented the house, explained that some plants right next to house would be stressed during the fumigation but they would come back with extra watering. They Tented the house taking care not to damage any tiles on roof. Fumigation was a 3 day event and on the 3rd day they returned and removed the tent, aired out the house and posted a form on front door that house was safe to enter. They next day they started work on the wood repair which was a big job because there was a lot of damage from the termites and wood fungus. That took 3 days. I purchase some paint to match the rest of the fascia wood and they were kind enough to paint the new wood so it matched. That was nice cause it is a 2 story house. They didn't charge me extra to paint. <br /> <br /> D&S is one of a few companies that do their own fumigation work so I think the price was better. Also, I liked the D&S inspector, Mike Saunders, who inspected the house and wrote up the report. Also, the D&S crew did the wood repair. I know that some companies farm that out to others. I am very satisfied with the quality of their work.

<p>On very short notice (due to active refinance) D and S inspected my home and found two active infestations; scheduled repairs of these two areas; fumigated my home; and provided necessary documentation for my refinance.</p> <p>They were very easy to work with; all communications were answered within hours (minutes in most cases); all my concerns were addressed; and as far as I can tell (I wasn't there) the on-site crew did everything expected of them.</p> <p>I didn't rank price because I didn't take any other quotes; but the price seemed reasonable to me, based on the services provided.</p> <br />

There was immediate availability to have two units sprayed for spiders. Office staff very patient and accommodating with the many phone calls I had to make after trying to coordinate with two tenants on when the job could be done because both tenants had children under one year of age and both have pets as well. I called at the perfect time also because one tenant needed to have their unit sprayed on a Saturday and D & S works the first Saturday of the month so they squeezed us into their Saturday route. <br /> The persons spraying (one sprayed on Friday, the other on Saturday) were on time and professional. I had requested a phone call prior to their arrival and they did so. It ended up that the unit scheduled to be sprayed on Saturday was not sprayed due to tenants unforeseen circumstance. D&S guy that was there ready to spray had a great attitude about not being able to spray, as I was mortified after all the work D&S made to get us on their Saturday schedule. Overall, good price, great service and will use them again. Only negative - office staff said no prior preparation needed. Person spraying said it would be best to remove furniture away from baseboards. I had not instructed tenants to remove all items away from baseboards so I don't know that all areas were properly sprayed due to furniture in the way. <br /> <br />

We used D&S to tent fumigate our home in La Mesa. This was a. $2,000 project. Everyone we spoke with was pleasant and professional. They told us that all workers are employees of theirs, not just contractors. Their work appears to be sufficent, but I wouldn't say it was great. They promised us the bags to protect pantry items and medicine would be delivered a week in advance, but didn't deliver them until a day and a half before the fumigation. We just had a new roof put on and there was some pulling up of shingles and permanently-bent transparent panels that they said were damaged by the weight of the rain on the tarp. (You should be asking how that much rain could pool on the tarp and bend the roofing material in just one night and why it was laid that way... I mean this might have been a tenth of an inch of rain on a sloped roof!). A part of the new rain gutter was bent and scraped. It was disappointing and I'd think twice before going back to them, though I'm not sure the industry overall could do much better. Then they called us the morning they were removing the tent to tell us that our house was broken into and we needed to come home to make a police report. WARNING!! IF YOU'RE GOING TO TENT YOUR HOUSE, SLEEP IN YOUR CAR TO PROTECT YOUR PROPERTY! Everybody to whom we reported the theft that day said,"Yeah, there's been a lot more of that." No one was surprised. The community police officer who took the report said it, the D&S Termite Co supervisor said it, the San Diego Gas and Electric person who came out to turn on the gas after the fumigation said it to us. I wish D&S had told me to consider some heightened security so that we could have saved ourselves the loss of personal items from this theft. In fairness, this appears to be a significant industry problem, not a D&S-specific problem, but I wish there had been better forewarning. We're sick about the theft. PROTECT YOUR PROPERTY and don't expect the fumigation company to do it for you. It takes one exacto knife to cut the tent and go in through the window they use to gas the house. It'll break your heart. <br />

Excellent customer service from start to finish. Professional staff and crew answered all my questions and concerns. Crew showed up on time for tenting and removal and did a great job cleaning up when finished. 2 year warrantee included. I highly recommend D & S and would use them again in the future.

It went pretty well. The guys were fairly responsive to concerns about plants and avoided tenting the ones we were most concerned about. I think they could have avoided tenting more of them. They told us most plants would be fine, but this was only partially true. Some of the ones they said would not be affected at all were definitely affected. A week later, its some are still turning brown, so its not clear yet what the total damage would be. They also dug a lot of holes around the house to secure the tent - I had no warning this would be done, and things were not restored completely at completion. <br /> Oddly, they found a couple of pickle jars in the fridge, that I should have removed, but forgot about - they took them out of fridge, but didn't tell me about it, and left them somewhere out of sight until the tent was removed several days later. <br /> However, the guys on the team were polite and definitely accommodated our main plant concerns to a fair degree and I think the price was competitive. <br />

I called D&S Termite and Pest Control two times to rid my house of rats, once in Sept, 2011 and and once in Nov, 2013. The first service in Sept, 2011 went went well. The Field Representative searched the house and yard for evidence of rats, found evidence in the attic, and placed traps there. He came back in a week or so, removed a dead rat, and checked back each week for a month. I paid $200 for this service. The second time, the Field Representative did not do an extensive search (perhaps because he had done one two years before). He did not check the attic because I had found evidence of the rats on the first floor--in retrospect, I think a search of the attic was warranted. He placed four traps in the house. I found a dead rat in the kitchen and disposed of it myself. This time (Nov. 2013) I signed a contract: D&S placed three rat traps on my property outside and I have been paying $35 to have them checked once each month for a year. Apparently, D&S will also check the house if there was evidence of rats within. This has ended up costing $420 and I have received very little in return. I do not feel that the house was searched well enough initially for evidence of rats. I could have set the traps myself, and, indeed, I, not D&S, ended up removing the dead rat. I would probably not hire D&S again. <br /> <br /> <br />

Start to finish the D&S folks were upfront, proactive and and extremely skilled and professional. The folks manning the phones never dropped the ball and I always got the response or answer I sought. I found D&S through Angie's List and was not disappointed. Initially they tented the house and then provided monthly inspections until the house sold. They don't subcontract the tenting out. They did a terrific job at a fair price, and everyone int he office and in the field were friendly and professional. :I no longer live in the area, but if I did, would definitely use them again. <br />
