If you want an immediate reply to your inquiry, professionalism, and friendly and quick scheduling of service, Anthony at DTS Plumbing is your guy. Anthony came to my house on a Monday to determine if I needed to replace my sump pump (I had seen slight amount of water following a huge storm) and possibly install a back-up battery unit. He recommended a new sump pump to replace my old system (original to the house), but advised me NOT to spend the extra money on a back-up battery unit. He could have easily have told me to spend that additional cash on a back-up, but instead won a customer for life with his honesty and integrity. My new sump pump was scheduled for install just two days after Anthony visited. It took him less than 10 minutes to complete the job, and I was immediately on my way back to work. I took advantage of the $395 special deal, and the unit has worked perfectly (and is so quiet I can barely hear it). Thank you, Anthony, for a superb job!

It took a few weeks to schedule job due to some personal conflicts with Anthony. Once scheduled, he showed up on time and took care of job promptly. although, they did charge an additional $75 beyond the deal I had purchased. $75 was to cut a hole in my basement ceiling to be able to access the water lines. Wish this had been detailed when I purchased the deal. However, it was still a bargain after to comparing to other offers.

Everything went exactly as I'd hoped. Anthony kept in contact when there was a scheduling change. He arrived on time, did a highly professional job, and the price was exactly as advertised. He took the time to discuss potential future projects, show us some of his current work and to offer us his professional opinions on some of the projects we are considering. He struck me as honest and knowledgeable and I highly recommend him for work you may be considering having done. I know he is the first person I will call when we start pour next bathroom projects in the coming year or so.

Anthony cane out Monday to do the work. He suggested that replace the trim board on the house so it would look better. We called our painter who came out this morning and did the trim work.Anthony came back right afterwards and did a great job. I had seen a special price on AL for the faucet of $ 99.00 which is all he'd charge me even though he had to make a second trip and do some work inside the house to make it all work.

Anthony's honesty let us know we were not in need of a new valve. He showed us there was a loose jam nut that we need to be sure stays tightened. This family owned business displays honesty and professionalism and is definitely one we will call on again for any issue.

I called DTS last night and Anthony came over the next day to replace my garbage disposal (GD). He was early and got right to work. He diagnosed the problem and found that there was something stuck in the GD. He swiftly removed the item and I was on my way. I know nothing about GD, so he easily could have replaced it to make a buck. Instead, he was honest, professional and saved me about $400. I will absolutely call him again when I have a problem. I recommend him to anyone.

Our main line backed up into our basement. Total nightmare. The house is 55 years old so no surprise. I called and Anthony came in about 10 minutes because he was close. That was unbelievably awesome. He was able to quickly clear the blockage and all is well. Due to a big old tree and an old line we'll need to replace the sewage line eventually and we know who'll we'll have do it. DTS was fast, polite, effective, and clean- he was concerned about bringing the auger over our old ugly carpet. Highly recommended.

We had an emergency on the fourth of July weekend where we had a water leak and our main water line shut off was not working. Anthony came right out and took care of it for us. He then returned a few day later to complete more repairs we needed. We plan to use him again in a few weeks to add a new gas line and garbage disposal.

Spoke with Anthony in the morning. He came out that afternoon, identified the problem, left to go purchase parts, came back and within 1/2 an hour both leaks were fixed. He took the time to show exactly what was causing the problems. I will be calling DTS Family Plumbing Services if I have any other plumbing problems.

DTS plumbing replaced an outdoor faucet that would not shut off. Price was very fair and the service was performed on time and correctly. I had a difficult schedule to work around and they were happy to work with me. In addition, I had a very small unscheduled repair that they handled for me on the spot. Overall, they were on time, courteous, and very fair on price.

Anthony was very friendly and professional and even called to say he was going to be 10-15 minutes late because he was caught in traffic. He took a look at the faucet we had and discovered that we actually had a leak in the pipe inside the house that fed the outdoor faucet. He fixed the portion of the pipe that had split and installed the faucet - but he did not charge us for the extra labor and parts for fixing the pipe that had split - even after we insisted. We are fans for life and will call DTS on any future plumbing needs we have! I highly recommend DTS Plumbing to others!

We got connected with DTS Family Plumbing through Home Depot when we needed a gas line extended from our basement to kitchen for a new gas oven. DTS was able to come out within a week of contacting them to look at extending the line and to give a quote. They were very professional and seemed to be knowledgeable and honest about what they would do and the reason for their approach. DTS showed up on time and was able to complete the work in a short amount of time. The only setback was the premium we seemed to pay for the service. An itemized bill could not be provided upon request and the cost of service seemed to be about 2-3 times what we expected it should have been. Also found a piece of trash from the job tucked behind our cabinet a week later instead of the trash can that was 5 feet away.
Response from DTS Family Plumbing Services
"We are glad the work was performed to your satisfaction. I think you'll find us very competitive in pricing- especially since we don't have high overhead like the big brand names in Kansas City. Gas pipe work is inherently dangerous work and requires expertise. Thanks for your business."

I have used Anthony for plumbing work in my home for a few years. But when my shower basin cracked and the drain fell out, I could not reach him and had to call another local plumber. He said he could replace the shower pan and the drain but I would have to hire someone else to replace the bottom few layers of tile that he would have to knock out. I remembered that Anthony had frequently mentioned he did remodeling and often said he could turn my old bathrooms into ”spas” when I was ready to remodel. I finally got in touch with him and asked if he could do both the plumbing and the tile replacement in the shower. He said he could and that I should start looking for tile and a shower pan and we could get it scheduled. I couldn’t find any tile to match either of the two old 4x4 tile colors in the shower. Also, I realized that that all this work would have to be torn out when I eventually got around to remodeling this room (I bought this 1964 home five years ago). I asked Anthony if he could just replace the entire shower (3’x 3’ shower off the master bedroom). The lower half of all the walls in this bathroom are covered with old 4x4 tile that I could not afford to have redone at this time. Anthony said he could certainly do just the tile in the shower, and he would install sheetrock between the new shower and the old tile on the bathroom walls. I was not to worry because he would make it seamless and he would “mud it nice and smooth”, ready for me to paint.

Anthony recommended that he install a “leak-proof system” and this would require a tile floor rather than a shower pan. I agreed to this. Anthony did come over on a Saturday about a month before the job and knocked out the walls and floor of the old shower and I started looking for tile. I am not crazy about grout and explained that I wanted a thin grout line like that in the old bathrooms with 4x4 tile. He said that if I didn’t select a tile with “spacers” that he would get the same effect by using his smallest tiling spacer. However, I did select a 3x6 subway tile with spacers. I purchased the tile, the grout and the shower valve and trim myself. We scheduled the job more than a month out when I would have a one week vacation. Anthony said he would start on the Tuesday and would be done in three days. I said that would be great because my family was coming from out of town on Friday. Later, I asked if Anthony could install two new toilets during this job. He agreed and had them delivered to my home.

Anthony and his business partner, Andy, showed up at 9:30 on Tuesday. They installed the leak-proof kit and Andy installed much of the tile in the lower half of the shower. Andy left shortly after noon. Anthony said he also had to leave because a customer had a leak in his basement. He returned about 9:30 on Tuesday. He left again shortly after noon. He said he had a greater than expected response to a special he ran on Angie’s List and he had to respond to them, “A guy’s gotta make a living”. He did this each day.

I had to cancel my family’s visit because Anthony did not complete the job until mid-afternoon on Saturday.

I frequently checked on Andy’s tile work on Tuesday. Since it looked good, I pretty much stayed out of the way for the rest of the job. That was a big mistake. Just before Anthony left on Saturday, I went in to inspect the finished work. I was shocked. The workmanship on the tile done after Tuesday was very poor.

I don’t recall the exact conversation. But I do remember many of Anthony’s responses to my complaints.

“That’s what happens when you have to cut tile.”

 “That wall was crooked.”

 “The floor was not level.”

“I can’t do anything about that.”

Anthony would not admit in any way that the workmanship was poor. I would expect that remodelers frequently encounter flaws in older homes. However, I would expect that their job is to correct or to esthetically compensate for them. Regardless, much of the poor tile installation was done on the new walls he installed.

Also, the bolts used to install the two toilets were too long and the caps would not fit over them. Anthony said that he did not want to strip the threads on the bolts by cutting them. He would order taller caps and bring them out later in the week.

Also, as Anthony was leaving, I saw that one of the abutting pieces of sheetrock he installed had unfilled holes in it and a gap of greater than ¼ inch between it and the preexisting piece above it. He quickly filled in the holes and slapped on a little more “mud”. The “mud” covered less than 25% of the sheetrock piece. I would have to sand it myself. Actually, I had to add much more spackle to smooth out this piece prior to sanding, priming and painting. Anthony pointed out a ½” gap between the sheetrock and the tile floor. I should fill it in with something and then cover the top part of the gap with some grout.

Prior to starting this job, Anthony offered to close up/fill in a 14” square access hole in the wall behind the plumbing. As he was leaving, I noted that this was not done. He said he didn’t have time for that. He left me a piece of sheetrock and instructed me on how to do it myself.

Over the next few days, while cleaning up and while painting the sheetrock, I noticed even more flaws in the tile job;

uneven lines

unequal grout lines

double and triple wide grout lines

virtually no grout lines (too thin)

protruding edges

sharp edges

rough edges

asymmetric layouts

wedged corners

most of the tile was not even laid flat

, etc…

I tried unsuccessfully to include pictures with this review.

In one spot that required a very small piece of tile, he just filled it in with grout rather make the small cut. Because of the unlevel tile placement, the valve trim does not fit flush over the valve beneath it which is visible in several places. It became too much to accept. A week after Anthony supposedly finished the job, I sent him an email restating my dissatisfaction and requesting much of my money back. He called me a few days later and strongly disagreed with my assessment. I asked him again about the caps for the toilets and he said they’d be in by the end of the week. The next day, I discovered that no grout had been placed between the wall of the shower and the top layer of tile and that one of the toilets bounced when one got off and on because it had not been leveled. I sent Anthony another email calling this to his attention. That was two weeks ago. I have not heard back from Anthony or his business partner. This job was supposed to be done more than three weeks ago.

Most, if not all of this shower will need to be removed and redone. I will have to purchase new tile. I will have to take more hard-earned vacation time. I will have to get another plumber to finish the toilet installation. It will not be Anthony.

I did not get other bids for this job because Anthony had seemed to work with me as a partner regarding the care of my home in the past, and other reviews in Angie’s List reflected the same sentiment. I regret that this type of sentime

They rescheduled twice due to other emergencies. They never called me back to reschedule. The only thing that they DID do was call me to tell me they weren't coming.
Response from DTS Family Plumbing Services
"[Member Name Removed], We are sorry we had to reschedule and you are dissatisfied. During rainy periods, we get a lot of flood situations or emergency calls that take priority. DTS would be happy to install your outdoor faucet at no charge to make up for rescheduling."
