The whole experience was outstanding. They were professional, responsive and clearly experienced. We had spoken with several other companies who were either unable or unwilling to tackle the job. Dunlap&Sons took and completed the job the next day. We are very happy with the repair and will happily use them for the additional work on our roof. Call them. You can’t go wrong!

The job in which they were hired for did not solve the problem and therefore I can not recommend them.  When the problem first returned they tried to stand by their word, but ultimately their work was just that, a lot of words.  There was a lot of good talk comparing what a roofer would do versus a contractor and how they were going to solve the problem of a leak that keeps returning during large events as well as prevent any future problems. The owner appears to care when with you, but the quality of work shows otherwise.  <br /> From my experience I would recommend them for simple work, and where detail is not important. <br />

l originally contacted the company approx. 2 yrs ago and was given a fair estimate. I had contacted other companies who had told me that I needed my entire roof redone at the cost of $6000! When Chico gave me a very detailed estimate of just what needed to be done, I knew that I would work with his company. During the 2yrs I would periodically receive emails asking if the repairs still need to be performed. They were always professional and polite, never pushy. When I finally came up with the money I contacted the company to have the roof re-assessed due to the time that had lapse from the original estimate. Chico came over promptly and offered to start work right then, and at the original estimate!  He even offered me advice on how to have my front door properly re-hung. He had my husband come up on the roof to take a look at the work performed. I couldn't be more satisfied with this company and highly recommend them to anyone and everyone for their integrity and professionalism throughout the process.

They were referred to me by another roofer that did not do flat roofs. I would use them again in the future if necessary.

It was fantastic! You can tell when a contractor pays attention to detail and completes the job in the proper manner. The company uses technology to send pictures, emails, receipts, and invoices. They are very professional and provide a great service.

I selected Dunlap because of the good reviews on Angie's. They were professional and came on time, although the workers reeked of cigarette smoke. I like that they emailed their quotes, so that I could have a record of work electronically. They came out and did the work listed above to fix a leaky roof. One year later, the same place is leaking again in the roof. I called Dunlap to come out to look at the leak, and they refused to set up a specific appointment so I could show them the exact problem. They came out when I wasn't home, then emailed me an estimate for another $500 worth of work, but to the wrong part of the roof, a part that isn't even leaking.These guys are ridiculous, and I would never recommend them to anyone. Their work is of low quality, and they are not responsive to their customers. There are plenty of other roofers on the list--I'll be using someone else for this repair work!

Dunlap is a very professional concern whose work was extremely efficient. Dunlap was a pleasure to work with an we intend to use them whenever necessary.

They are very responsive and easy to get a hold of. They came out and finished in one day what they thought would take two. However, we had to have them come out again because one part of the roofing was poorly installed. Apparently the normal supervisor was unable to come out. They also did not install the gutters correctly. The first time the gutters were too short and rain water would just run over the edge and down the side of the house. They attempted to correct the problem, but you can see gaps between the side of the house and the edges of the gutter, and rain water just runs down the side of the house. I would say they are good at roofing, but not good with gutters.

I joined Angie's list to find a reputable roofer. Based on the reviews, I chose Dunlap and I am very satisfied. I was not at home when Chico (the owner) looked at my house for the quote. I talked him through how to access my roof and he saw every issue I had, and explained in great detail how he would fix each one. His quote - exerpted above detailed all of the items from our discussion. His crew showed up almost to the minute we had arranged, and worked straight through for nearly twelve hours. The roof is a Baltimore flat roof with four skylights, a deck, and a chimney. Other difficulties were a parapet wall that required quite a bit of custom metal work and the connection to a neighbor that needed a lot of flashing. One person basically spent the entire day flashing and sealing around a rooftop deck. Another spent most of the day bending metal for flashing. Chico and two others torched down the roofing and did the flashing. They did everything as detailed on the quote and more. A walkthrough of the final job revealed a couple of small issues that were quickly resolved before they cleaned up.

I called up a few different roofers to get estimates. Not only did Dunlap and Sons send someone over as soon as they could, they emailed me a detailed estimate in writing, and then followed up with a phone call. Then the entire job was completed in less than 1 day. All in all, a good experience.

There were some bad delays and miscommunications. They were generally pleasant to deal with, but we just had some problems communicating.

They were very responsive to my request, it appeared by the pictures they sent me that the job job was done completely and well. However, my neighbor complained that his satelite dish was inoperative after the job was done. He then had pictures taken showng that snow had been removed from my roof onto his roof which covered his satelite dish. Ovbiously, no snow should have been shoveled from my roof to a neighbors roof. His pictures indicate beyond a doubt that this was done by the workmen who removed the snow on my roof. None of the pictures that the company provided me with were taken from the vantage point that would have initialy shown me that that snow was not just removed onto my back yard but also on my neighbors' roof. Later on I did find out they didn't throw snow on my neighbor's roof.

Initially they gave me two quotes, one to have the old roof surface torn off and resurfaced, and a second quote to only resurface the existing structure. The quote that included the tear-off was only a few hundred bucks more (about 300) and would have been well worth the price, but my father, whose roof was being redone, did not find it necessary. The completed the job in a few hours while I was at work, so I was not around to see the process, but my father said they did well. The only critique I have is that some areas were a bit patchy, making the finished result not look as clean and neat (important since it will be seen from the roof-top deck). But the seal is great, has a 10 yr warranty and I have no fear about leaks....time will tell =)

I researched 5 or 6 different companies and they came up with the best deal. They did a real good job. They were quick, cheap and thorough. It wasn?t the prettiest looking job but it was effective. I would use them in the future, if necessary.
