Contacted and he returned call the same day.. He was busy, but when he got time to call he did.. He said he would come over the following day and look at the job and if I wished he would give me a quote... Which he did, and I chose to take his bid... He said he was extremely busy, but could be able to start the project within the week... He phoned me a few days later and asked if he could start the following day... Of coarse I chose to take the start day, since I needed ceiling done before wife could start to paint and have carpet installed... He came over as described, started in and got everything set on Saturday and asked if it would be alright to come back on Monday to finish the job... Ok by me and he had to do a lot of leveling, since I had had water damage when I had purchased the home... I have had quite a few homes, not just my living home, but have had rental property also, and have had many plasterers... He is fantastic... The only other plasterer I have ever had I no longer can find... I think he must have moved out of our area, so got Dennis's name from Angie's List and thought I'd try him... He has now done my basement bathroom, a soffit area in the kitchen and now the living room... You should know I had never met or heard about him until I got on Angie's List in January or February... First time he came here he did the bathroom and the soffit area and I was so pleased with that -- I called again to get his availability... He has a great personality, will answer any questions, and very professional... Work done speaks for itself...

If you need a plasterer and want a great job -- don't be afraid to call him.. He does top notch work and I'm sure, as I too, am very fussy what I pay and get from others... You will be pleased with your outcome...

Should you wish to see his work before calling him.. Call me at 815-218-0214 and I'd be more than happy to show you some of his work... You will agree...

They arrived when they said. I think it was early afternoon. I let them in and went back to work. When I got home that evening I thought they would still be there but they were gone and the job was done. They came by later to pick up the check. Friendly and they know what they are doing. Plaster work is a specialty and when you have older homes sometimes you have to pay more. I thought it was a bit pricey but it was plaster work and I am not familiar with pricing, so it may have been right on.

Dennis Vance was a man of his word... He returned my call the next day and asked when it would be a good time to get together and look at what needed to be done... He was running a little late from another appointment and he called to tell me (I greatly appreciate that in someone)and gave me another time just a few hours later... He looked over and listened to all I had to say and gave me a price which was much lower than I had anticipated... We discussed the time he would show - which was only 2 days later - He again showed promptly went right to work and before the end of the day I was very happy - especially when he cleaned and swept the areas he had worked in and after inspection was pleased to write him a check... During the process He was quite the gentleman and we talked about may issues, he was just a fun man to talk to and seemed very knowledgeable about general issues (politics, hunting, home repair) - but really mattered most - plastering... which he has been doing from childhood helping his father and grandfather, which were also plasterers.

Do not hesitate to hire this individual -

This was the first time I had met him, but I asked for some cards of his business and he gave me several, which I have already started to disperse.....

Great job completed

great! they did a small bedroom and turned out so nice i had them do large bedroom too. got an estimate from a guy called "scuba steve". $1000 for 12'x12' bedroom it would take about 1 week when he could get to it in about 2months. no thanks. called dunrite and they did it in 1 day 2 days later for $600 and after painting etc. we moved in a few days later. same with other large bedroom. it was twice the size and cost $1000. kal-cote is a little different. it leaves walls with a sandy smooth and very hard finish. kinda like you painted walls with sand paint. we really like it.

Dunrite came within a week of the quote and did the drywall and texturing. They took a paint sample and did the touch-up painting three days later. They did a very professional job and even cleaned-up after they were finished. We were very satisfied with their work and look forward to having our living room back!
We were removing walls and ceiling to create one larger space. So we needed a lot of patching of plater work. Dennis patched everything to make it look original. We have an older home that already had plaster walls. We wanted everything to be the same quality as when the home was built and Dennis did that for us.
Dunright's estimate was 40% (yes 40!) lower than the next lowest bid. However, being new to Rockford, my husband and I did not know anyone who were reliable and experienced in the area of plastering. We have enough experience in home remodeling to understand that the lowest bid does not always reflect the best work or best provider/contractor. First, I checked Angie's list and I did not see any reviews. I then researched the Better Business Bureau and discovered that Dunright had an A+ rating, and there were no reported complaints. We decided to take a chance and we could not be more pleased with the results!!! The results are perfect (and I am a perfectionist)! I have recommended Dunright to new friends in the area. I HIGHLY recommend this business for anyone in need of plastering!!!
