From bad to worse. The day after they primed the pump, I went to use the pump & there was no water. The priming had failed. I made several attempts to contact Pruitt via email, Facebook & leaving phone messages. The one time a phone call actually got thru to him, he told me he'd call back in 10 minutes as he was on the road. I'm still waiting for a call back. This is the worse I've been treated by any business . Astonished to see they did not guarantee their work when procedure failed. Sad thing is, up until now, I thought very highly of this business & their professionalism & the owner. But when a company refuses to guarantee their work and refuses to respond to an unsatisfied customer complaint, something has gone terribly wrong with the business and or owner.

Earl was very quick to respond to my call. They were booked a little in advance, but were forthright in giving me a date he could come by to do an estimate. He gave me an estimate that seemed fair and said his son, David would be out that afternoon to install it. His son had a slight delay with his current project and Earl was great about giving me a call to let me know. I'm sure these things do happen during the course of well repairs. My questions were answered honestly. The work was done meticulously. (This pump looks about 10 times sturdier than my previous unit). He tested everything thoroughly, and they cleaned up like no had ever been there! This a family business that take pride in their work..They were a pleasure to deal with and I would highly recommend them!

My lawn sprinkler system was not working properly. Earl and his son Dave knew exactly what the problem was. Dave and his crew installed a new well and pump. They were punctual, professional and courteous. Their pride in their work was obvious. Dave even returned several weeks later at no additional charge to fix a problem that turned out to be my own fault. Now my lawn gets all the water it needs. Would definitely use them again.

Average quality considering he was the most expensive quote. Agreed to certain things such as the height of the well but used a shorter piece. The seal never sat flat an eye sore every time I see it; he said it's fine. The biggest deal was after Irma. A week after the storm, the pump stopped working. I called twice that day and he got short and told me he will call back when he gets to look at his schedule. He never called back although I explained that we use the well for drinking and it's our only water source. He did mention he had 150 calls that day. He never responds to my messages. "I missed a call from this number" is his lame response to every phone call he returns. Especially if you need round the clock 24 hours emergency service please look elsewhere. Another factor to consider is that he doesn't have his own crane which means up charge compared to well companies who have cranes on their truck. I was fortunate to find such a company; it only had 75 service calls that day but was able to do my job the same day. In summary, although the job was average, the true test Mr. Pruitt failed is taking care of his customer.

"I'm sorry you feel the way you do, By the way we own two deep well rigs with our own crane, but if any one calls us to fix a drinking well and if this needs done in a day or two we do use another crane service to get it done faster, My rigs stay very busy. Look's like we did this job over 2.5 years ago, During the hurricane the phone was none stop, We had calls from house and horse farms that didn't have any water at all, And if I missed your call or didn't call you back, I'm very sorry. Between the calls from the drought and this last storm we did get very behind our schedule. Again I'm sorry Earl W. Pruitt Sr."

Terrible. Everything that could go wrong went wrong and it took 3-4x longer than expected. Too much to detail. In the end they got done and well appears to produce sufficient water

Beautifully! This company defines promptness and professionalism. They called 15 minutes before arriving and arrived right on time. When the problem was diagnosed, the owner set up a repair for that afternoon - much sooner than I had anticipated possible. His son and crew did a great job, making sure that I saw that everything was working well before they left. A++ for this company!

First, I need to apologize to Mr. Pruitt. I thought I had left a glowing review the last time he came out but evidently it didn't publish because I can;t find it here anywhere. We bought our current house in March of 2014. It is on a well and we could see by the orange stains in the toilets and tubs that we had a problem. We had a new water softening system put in by another company. In December of that year the pump stopped working and we called Mr. Pruitt. Despite being a new customer he came out the same day and diagnosed the problem. We had "the worst water he has seen in 40 years". He replaced the pump and the tanks and cleaned my well. He was courteous, knowledgeable and professional. Thirteen months later (just outside the one year warranty) the pump died. <br> <br>Mr Pruitt came out and delivered the distressing news that the pump failed because the water was just so bad. He installed a higher HP commercial grade pump at cost. He didn't have to do that. It wasn't his fault the well is so bad. But he is a really nice guy who wants to do right by his customers. I was very grateful to him for working with me on the cost. He and his guy worked their behinds off all day on a Saturday and he didn't charge me any labor costs. And if that weren't enough, he cajoled the manufacturer of the pump itself to give me a better warranty on the pump. He really went above and beyond. <br> <br>He has been back twice since (once to diagnosed and repair a faulty pressure switch and once to repair a cracked pipe) and has refused to charge me anything. He drives almost 1.5 hours from his place in St. Pete up to my home in New Port Richey and won't even accept gas money for his trouble. <br> <br>If you need a reputable and professional well and pump service you should definitely work with Earl Pruitt. He's a rock solid man who runs a rock solid company and they don't make them like that much anymore. Thank you Mr. Pruitt! <br>

Earl Pruitt's two-man crews travel with incredibly large trailers so they have the materials and equipment they need and don't have to run back to the warehouse or a hardware store. Earl, his sons and other employees were very conscientious, taking the time to explain what needed to be done and why. I know very little about pumps and wells, so this was very helpful. My impression was that he was only recommending repairs that were truly necessary. His work is also warrantied, including pressure adjustments. <br /> I understand that the company is extremely busy, so it might take a few days or even weeks for a scheduled visit. Also, they are so busy that if one appointment runs long, they'll be late for the next appointment. Earl phoned to let us know that they were going to be late for our appointment. We weren't in a rush though, and it was worth the wait. <br /> <br />

There is a minimum charge on all deep wells which was covered in our conversations as well as the invoice. Unfortunately we can only pull from a water source that is on your property. We have no control over the quantity or quality of water that your home has access too. I think it is a little unfair for you to leave a negative review when I returned to your home to fix the sand issue free of charge. I am not sure if the sand was caused by the line installed by your sprinkler guy or if it was from us cutting the line to hook up your well, but I wanted to do my part to ensure you were happy in the end. They're the only game in town. They were okay. They were just too expensive. They drilled wells and they got water. Anybody can do that. I'm not that impressed. They broke some sprinklers and had some problems with roots but they did accomplish what they were trying to accomplish.

Earl Sr. came out within a couple hours of my call. He inspected the pump and told me what the problem was, what was needed and quoted a fair price. The work was scheduled for the next day. David arrived with his crew ahead of schedule and began work. Removing the old pump was an unexpected problem but David called Earl Sr. who called me immediately to explain the problem, what would be required and what to expect. Within a couple of hours, a crane arrived, the pump was pulled and work continued. Everything was explained and I was very comfortable with everything that was done. Before they left, everything was checked to be sure it was working correctly. <br /> I would definitely recommend Earl Pruitt for any well and pump service. I would use them again but don't anticipate any problems based on all the work they did. Great family owned business! <br />

I do remember speaking with you over the phone and try and talk you thru it on how the tank, switch and check valve worked, however, trying to teach over the phone and not showing you in person is hard, this is why I advised you that I would have to come out there to show you how the system worked, correctly, I do apologize if I said something out of contact."

<p>I called Earl Pruitt based on reviews from Angie's List. I had had another company come out to look at my well and pump after I'd lost all water in the house. He stated I only needed a draw down seal and not to allow another company to do anything else and it should not cost more than $150. He was not willing to do the work, however, as I lived too far north and he admitted he had considered turning around and not keeping the appointment with me several times while driving up for the estimate. Three other companies from the List completely negated his diagnosis which was made based on simply standing next to the place where pump was buried and looking at it. Earl came out on Labor Day to assess my problem even though he normally didn't come up this far north. Within minutes I knew I had found the right company. In my presence, Earl checked the switch, the pump, the tank, etc., using an ohm meter and checked the amperage while teaching me about what he was doing the entire time. My pump was more than 18 years old. His comment was that "God loved me" as the average age of a submersible pump was 10-12 years. I was living on borrowed time. The pump was overheating and shutting off which explained my intermittent water supply. </p> <p>I hired him on the spot, Work commenced the following Friday even though I had to go out of town. Upon my return the well had been fixed, the pump replaced and the well cleaned. Normally it would take about 15 minutes to clean a well but mine, true to form, took over 3 hours!!! He'd never seen anything like it in his 43 years of business. The pump was filled with rust deposits and chunks of limestone rocks. I have no rust stains of any kind in my home so why this was we cannot fathom. While finishing up the job the pressure tank quit working and had to be replaced also. We were all laughing at this point but they got the job done and I had a reliable well and water supply once again. </p> <p>Earl, his son, and the other workers did a good job. They were very reliable and came exactly when they said they would. Then they helped me flush the hot water tank where more limestone debris came out. He stuck to his estimate even though the pressure tank he had ordered wasn't available and he had to purchase one that was larger. He would not accept even a deposit from me and instead waited until all the work was completed before taking a check. I am very pleased with their level of expertise and would recommend them to anyone and will use them in the future should the need arise. Although, Earl told me that when this well needed maintenance again it would be his grandson who would do the work and not him as it will be at least 15 years from now! </p> <p>I also nominate this company for placement on a Page of Happiness.</p> <br />
