It was fine. They sent one person out to do the job. The scheduling was pretty easy.

Beginning with a mix up in the date of service- we got that worked <br /> out. Two guys showed up, the owner and a helper. The helper did most of <br /> the work. They decided I didn't need the entire length of drain pipe <br /> buried that I wanted, so they only did half of it. It is not the way I <br /> wanted it. They could not complete due to a lack of dirt, and now one <br /> drain has separated from the connection and is going to have to be dug <br /> up and done over. <br /> The biggest problem with using them is that they turned a water spigot on to have handy when they burned a brush pile and left it on! It is not in an area of the yard that I go in often and I did not realize they left the water running. It ran for 45 days before the water company let me know I had a "Major" leak. The water bill has cost me almost <strong>$600.00!!!!!!!! </strong> <br /> I cannot believe how irresponsible and careless this was. His rating has now gone from a "B" when I purchased the deal to an "F". <br /> Originally I asked him to come back and trim every two weeks and he said he would, but he did not return. Two months later I advised him about the water spigot being left on but of course, got no response. <br /> My best advise is to make sure any business that offers a "deal" has lots and lots of good reviews before purchasing. Better yet, understand that you get what you pay for. <br /> This has been a very expensive lesson for me and just because a company is listed on Angie's List it does not mean they are reputable. <br />

They did not come or call on the day scheduled, when I called the person I worked with on the phone didn't know they hadn't come. Rescheduled, they came and did the work well but weren't happy with having to spread the mulch. I told them how much I had when I set the appointment. The work was done well, I think it was just a busy time. <br />

They haven't done all the work and I haven't been able to get a hold of them since. The work that they actually did do was ok, but it was just a matter of schedule changes all the time. They would commit to one day and show up on another. As the time passed, it started happening more and more. I tried to contact them through the message center. There is no consistent way to get a hold of them. I even tried to reach out to them and ask if they were too busy maybe we could get reimbursed a portion of the what I had paid them. But still no response.

He was supposed to be at the house between 8-9 on 7/3 and didn't show up till noon. I let him know I wanted bush removed and he stated he didn't have a chainsaw to do that job and he was leaving to go purchase one.  He left all his other tools in my yard and left.  He came back later, pick up his tools, didn't tell me he wasn't doing any work, and left.  I called him when I saw all his tools laying around and he told me he was waiting on his guy to bring him a chainsaw.  I sent him several messages through Angie's List message center to figure out when I could expect the work to be completed.  On 7/8 I asked him if he was coming back and he said he was "still waiting on the chainsaw" and asked that I give him till Thursday to get the work done. On the 14th I asked why it still wasn't done. He responded on the 15th that he was still waiting on the saw. On the 21st I told him I had cut it down myself and he could come clean it up the debris and pull the stump out.  He said he'd be by as soon as the truck was free and he never showed up.

The appointment was made, but the no one showed up at the agreed upon time. After I called the contact number, the owner came right over and started the clean up and stated that his crew would be over in the afternoon to finish up.  He was very personable and seemed knowledgeable.  We went over my list of items to be taken care of, and he assured me that it was manageable in the time alottment that I had purchased.  The crew didn't show up that afternoon.  I spoke with the owner again that night, and he assured me that they would be there in the morning.  They weren't there in the morning.  They did show up the next day and did only a portion of the items on the list.  I contacted him one more time, and he stated that he would send them over to take care of the items that they didn't complete.  No one ever came back.  I was very disappointed with this service; however, it is possible that the "Big Deal" response was bigger than the owner anticipated, and he and his crew were unable to keep up with the demand. <br />

Made an appointment for July 8, 2014 at 9:30a.m.  Called Earthworks between 10:30a.m. and 11:00a.m. to see if they were still coming, James said they were finishing a job and would be on their way soon.  James showed up at 1:35p.m. with manual clippers and worked an hour and thirty minutes.  James then called my mother on the phone after leaving at 3:00pm. stating that the clippers were not sharp enough to trim the bushes and needed to be sharpened. After waiting 2 hours for him to return, she called to let him know she could no longer wait and would have to reschedule to finish the job and would he please call.  She called the following day and left a message that we needed to reschedule, calls were not returned.  Called Angie's List to report the problem.  Earthworks then called and rescheduled. Again, they did not show up or call.  My mother called them but they will not return any of her calls. The trimming that was done was very poor, trimmed the front of the bush but not the back.  I paid for 4 hours of work and she received an hour and thirty minutes.

I hired Jesse James Jones from Earth Works Landscaping (www.earthworkslandscaping14.com) - 317-607-3147, back on June 12. The firepit and patio were to take 3 days to complete. I was supposed to pay half at beginning of job and half at completion. I was charged full amount of $2000 on 6/12/2014 and then also another charge that was supposed to be $350, I was charged $375 on 6/18/14 both on my Visa. Not only is the work not completed, it looks like h*** and my yard has been left a mess. The patio & firepit look nothing like the photos on his website and he has sent me excuse after excuse via text messages promising to be out to fix. Yesterday he promised me it would be cleaned up and fixed to my satisfaction and no one has been here. He claims his guys did the work, yet I hired him and he hasn't even come out here to meet with me to discuss after repeated requests. I have about 20 text messages from him promising to be here to fix to my satisfaction.  <br /> I hired him because he seemed like a nice guy, I like to support local small companies and he was also a Veteran and I am the Midwest Regional Funding Coordinator for Veterans Matter which helps homeless Veterans get housing (www.veteransmatter.org). I am the Celebrity Chairperson for the Children's Bureau Celebrity Cook-Off and a real estate broker & yoga teacher! <br /> I like supporting small local people in our community but I don't like being robbed and taken advantage of! I can send photos if needed, my yard is a mess and he claimed it was completed on 6/27/14! It is the wrong shape, uneven, and there is only mud between the pavers, and the retaining wall is a mess & dangerous. Also mounds of dirt, sod & trash left in piles around my yard. He promised that someone was coming today 7/3/2014 to haul away dirt and also workers were to be here to make the patio look like photos on his website like we agreed upon. It looks nothing like the photos from his website, The fire pit has about 8 random stones around it and not big enough to even put chairs around it?  And the paver patio is just dirt between the stones, uneven & not the shape like we discussed half a dozen times.  <br /> After numerous text messages back and forth and my extreme unhappiness with the quality of workmanship, he has never come out to go over the work with me so that it could be resolved to my satisfaction, I have only received lies and piles of trash and really bad workmanship and my yard is a complete mess!! I was completely ripped off by this guy!  <br /> I would be happy to post photos of my yard!

They were very friendly and professional, on time to the minute. The work turned out beautiful better than I visioned. I will definitely be using them again for sure. The yard was cleaned of all debris as if they were never there!! The price was great!!

The oberall experience of using this company was exceptional. Mr. Jones was a top notch professional. I will absolutely use his services in the future.
