I had my old lawn removed and new sod laid. After removing the old grass they lightly raked some loose grass and stones. As they were getting ready to lay the new sod I asked about having It tilled to loosen the soil so the roots could better connect to the ground. You can’t lay new sod on hard ground and expect the roots to work their way through it. Tony, who was in charge of the job wasn’t pleased by my request but did till it, (because he knew I was right). I noticed some pieces that looked different and he said not to worry about it. It would all be ok after some water and a couple of weeks. Well, it wasn’t. Also , on the second day of finishing the job, someone else working in my house, who used to be a landscaper, pointed out the edges were not tight and some were overlapping other pieces. Tony was not at all happy hearing that. So a few days later after it was obvious the edges were dying and not tight, I had the other guy fix it. Still some of it was not surviving. Dave, the one who came originally to quote the job, came to look at it. In an email he said that there were a few “shoddy” areas and that I should have notified them right away and not let someone else work on it. I did notify them and Tony once again said not to worry about it, so the other guy, who had years of experience with sod worked on it. It would have been much worse it he hadn’t! So, Dave agreed to bring 5 pieces (they actually bought 6). I don’t know why they limited the number of pieces to fix their faulty work. It may have taken just a few more to do it right. Sod is very inexpensive per piece. They probably spent less than 75.00 to make a customer satisfied with a 2500.00 job. A few more dollars and a better attitude would have been nice. I would avoid them

Eric did a great job. Came out within 3 hours of initial phone call, said he would try to get to it within 4 days, showed up next day, removed debris and cleaned up everything spotless. Would highly recommend! This was a huge sycamore tree toppled by high winds.

Earthworks Outdoor Inc. (317-340-3680) in Fishers did a great job. After getting three quotes, they were competitively priced but importantly they did the job on time (even pushed us up on schedule) and left our yard cleaner than when they came. They removed 4 trees (two huge dead trees very close to the house) and other small trees. Eric brought in a big cool crane and completed the job in a day We used his services about 5 years ago for a big difficult tree removal job and we were so happy with the results, Eric Rector is very responsible, pleasant, insured and has high ratings.

A neighbor's tree fell partially in our yard. The neighbor hired Earthworks to remove the tree. Earthworks asked if they could use my yard to access the tree, promising to clean up after. Except for the two ruts left in my yard by their tractor they did a good job of cleaning up. I asked the owner to repair the ruts. He asked me to give it a couple of weeks and then he'd be back to check on it. That was 3 months ago. I've called at least 4 times asking him to come out. He hasn't responded. Definitely give him an F in customer service.
Response from Earthworks Outdoor Inc
"This only tells part of the story. No mention of the fact that we also cleaned up the part of the tree and debris that was in his yard at no cost. The owner of the tree was not obligated to pay to have the part of the tree that fell into Mr. Tamers yard removed and told us to leave what was in his yard for him to deal with. Mr. [Member Name Removed] agreed to let us use his yard to access the tree and debris and we used plywood to minimize any damage. The grass was matted down and we met with him several times to address his concerns and told him to wait and it would come back - which it did. The complaint here is about two very small ruts which we did not ever agree to fix for free after we did free removal of part of the tree and debris in his yard."

They do excellent, very professional work. Highly recommend, especially for hardscape projects. Could be a little more mindful and cautious during their work, but recognize collateral damage is inevitable in most situations; i.e. you can't construct a patio without trampling the lawn a bit. Overall, they were attentive to protecting surrounding areas. Clean up was acceptable. Very polite, very focused on pleasing the customer. Went through three landscapers (yeah, three) who kept pushing me back on their calendar again and again until I fired them. Earthworks had to reschedule a couple of times, but not to the point of being completely unreasonable. Weather conditions have been a major factor this year, which is beyond anyone's control. Overall, great work, nice people, customer-first mentality. Absolutely will use them for my landscaping needs from now on.

Great company! I originally hired them to remove shrubs and have had them back for several other yard projects (trim trees, lawn aeration, plant new shrubs). High recommend!

Things couldn't have gone better. We got several estimates, but Earthworks gave us the best one by far. Then they were out to take the tree down within 3 days; the best any of the other tree services gave us was 2 weeks. Eric and Dave came out, they did the job quickly, efficiently and safely, they left our yard in great shape, and now we're all set. Beyond their solid professionalism, Eric and Dave are two of the nicest guys I've ever met, I'd use them again in a heartbeat, and I'd give them the highest recommendation possible.

Wow! It took 6 hours and they never stopped. This was a professional bunch who took the time to examine each tree, lay it down with no damage to other trees. If it couldn’t be dropped, they took it apart and lowered to the ground.

They showed up when they said and removed a huge elm tree and hauled it away quickly and safely. It was between power lines, a road, and a house. These guys are good and very professional.

This is the first year we've used Earthworks for our lawn mowing and so far, we're thrilled. The mowing crew seems to have us on an-every-Tuesday schedule, but they are responsible & pro-active enough to adjust to the weather conditions, so they sometimes show up on Monday. This is SO great! I've had other lawn mowing companies who didn't give this a thought and would show up DURING the rain! The crew wear uniform shirts which I think gives them a very professional look and ties in perfectly with their clean, professional equipment and their attention to detail. The guys are very friendly and respectful. I LOVE the fact that when they are done mowing & trimming they blow off any debris from the driveway and patios. Often they didn't cause all the debris, but they blow it clean anyway. When they leave everything looks neat & tidy. Thank you, Eric, Dave, and Carlos!! Keep up the good work!!

I couldn't be happier with Earthworks! Early in the season I requested an estimate from Eric & Dave for mulch, bed-edging, and some various yard work. They were very flexible with the scheduling as I wanted to wait for the maple seeds to drop & for our gutters to get cleaned before having the new mulch installed. Issues at my end, rain, and their own scheduling issues caused a bit of a delay, but rest assured, it was worth the wait. Once the crew arrives you have their full-attention! They are SUCH incredibly hard workers! In truth, my expectations weren't too high as I have a lot of plantings and laying mulch in early spring is much easier than once plants have emerged fully and matured by summer. This didn't deter the crew from doing a great job and showing great care in maneuvering through the beds. These guys were respectful of the property, conscientious, and efficient. If they weren't certain what to do, they asked. I am especially grateful that they did not park their truck & trailer on our new driveway. I was expecting to have to ask them not to, but it wasn't necessary. The difference is in the details and it is these little, common-sense--but often ignored-- details that set a company apart from the pack. This is the second year I've used Earthworks and I'm so tickled that their standards have stayed the same. I honestly can't say anything bad about Earthworks and recommend them without reservations.

The only problem I had with them was to get them to come back, they were very friendly and did a fair job. When you would call you would get a fellow's wife if anyone at all. It would be a few days for them to get back to you, they were a little slow on that, but once they did the work they did a good job.

I suggest they be more responsive in communication. I think they do good work, but think in the spring they get a lot of calls they get overwhelmed and don't have a processing place to manage that a little more efficiently.
