The financial bid wasn’t exact, we paid more than the proposed cost with no changes during the project. It became apparent quickly that the labor was outsourced and the principal demonstrated very little oversight. There were several minor items that needed fixing after the labor exited. The feedback from the owner of the firm was that the issues could be corrected but it would cost an extra half-day for the crew to return. When I questioned that proposition with the owner of the firm, he said that I had approved the work, that it was my fault. These people lack accountability and professionalism. Do not hire them. The owner committed that he would fix the issues, they’ve not done so, to date.

"This job was done as a cost plus style as the customer had many unknowns such as a rotten deck. He wanted to al a carte change out deck boards, support posts and railing. Since there was no clear job we both chose a cost plus system. The masonry path we installed was changed from an organic jagged edge seen in gardens to a cleaner saw cut edge like you'd see in a sidewalk. This change happened after installation had begun. The overall project went well and we were contacted about a 2" piece of mortar that came loose on the step overhang. This was a result of the customer changing the design and installation half way through the project. I was called and there was a great deal of hostility and threats via a phone call. I chose not to interact after this."

Jay and his team were excellent to work with. The project was completed on schedule and on budget and Jay was very attentive to my instructions, expectations and desires for what the end product would look like. Couldn't be happier with the quality of the end product...and 2 years later the quality has held up perfectly! We love the outdoor kitchen and use it 3-4 times /week.

Jay is an outstanding builder. He worked with us on various changes we had to make due to local regulations that forced a change in the original design. His team cleaned up every night and attended to every detail. <br /> I could not be happier with the work they did. I would recommend him for any <br /> internal or external job. <br /> He worked with us to help select the right stone, at every step and decision he would create examples so we could see how something would look before we made a decision. <br /> The enclosed unit was new to him and he spent his time with the supplier and the manufacturer to ensure it was both installed correctly and minimize new material purchases to help keep the cost down. <br /> His team's stone work is outstanding, we have had so many people comment on it, I wish I could post an picture to share just how great his work is. <br /> If you want the best end-result then work with a top class contractor like Jay. <br /> <br /> <br />

Eclipse was fabulous to work with. From design through execution they were very helpful and worked with us to create a plan to meet out needs. The work was done in a timely manner and we were thrilled with the results. They were willing to explain various options and the pros and cons of each and to make sure what we selected would meet our needs for functionality and appearance. We loved going to the nursery as well because they have a great selection of plants and pottery and were very knowledgeable about what would work for our space, and for my limited gardening abilities! I highly recommend them and look forward to working with them on future projects. <br />

Frankly, I had low expectations for what I needed done...Since I knew this particular job carried little value to anyone except for me, I was doubtful about anyone wanting to take even a little time to do it (In fact, one Angie's list company never responded to my request in any form). So, when someone did respond to my message and left Shawn's phone number, I was surprised! When I called Shawn he could not have been more receptive (asked thoughtful questions about what I needed), gracious and accommodating. Bottom line: he said yes...took care of it in a timely way at a cost that was more than reasonable. If he does this with an insignificant job, I have a good feeling that he would do excellent work with any (major and significant) job for which he was responsible. <br />

Amanda did an outstanding job of designing our front yard. She was easy to work with and worked hard to please us. We had to wait awhile for the work to be done because of their busy schedule and the rainy weather this spring but it was well worth the wait. We have received many compliments. The crews that did the work were hard working, efficient, polite, and punctual. <br />

Jay Sexton is one of the most pleasant people you will ever work with. He respectful, considerate, and thoughtful about his advice. I asked Jay to build a two-level patio that I had designed for a particular spot in the backyard, with power and water supply to an Italianate fountain that I had previously purchased. Jay made a number of very important suggestions for the size, design, materials, and layout of the patio, resulting in a much better outcome. His crew was very efficient. The stonemasons were artists who worked with an expensive stone to create a delightful design with random shapes that, because of the thickness of the stone, had to be created by sawing individual pieces and then chiseling the edges to give the sort of aged, rough lines that we were looking for. <br /> Jay was meticulous in following up and went well beyond what was expected in installing the fountain, which proved to be more work that we originally thought it would be. <br /> This was such a good experience that we decided to expand the scope of our landscaping project and have hired Eclipse to do the design and installation. Once again, it proving to be a pleasure to work with Eclipse. <br />

He was supposed to put the patio pavers on a concrete base but only put them in sand. The first time it rained it flooded the patio and cracked it. He kept putting me off on the repair, but finally sent out a crew of 3 people to fix it. It took all day. He should've done it right in the first place. He was a sub contractor for Eclipse. The price that Eclipse quoted had $1100 in it for concrete but he did not use concrete at all.

"We initially suggested a concrete patio. It was decided by the homeowner to install pavers instead of concrete. I have read through all emails, estimates, and invoices and there is no mention of installing pavers on top of concrete. Sand base is the standard for pavers. There is no line item of 1100.00 for concrete anywhere in the estimate or invoice. NOTE: The ground was cracked below the installed patio, the crack extended under the house and to the street. We were not at fault or responsible to fix this issue but we did at absolutely no cost. That is great service and does not constitute an F rating."

The plants still need to fill in some, but we are very happy with the results. We also had some masonry done around the yard. Amanda was knowledgeable about native plants, which we valued because of environmental and practical (i.e., low maintenance) reasons. We put a "B" on price because it was somewhat expensive, but that is somewhat to be expected given that the quality seems quite high. <br />

Shawn at eclipse was very responsive when I asked for an estimate to improve my patio area. The patio was about 239 sq ft with a stone fireplace. The builder had left a paint and plaster splattered mess on the cement patio. Shawn was able to match the stone used for the veneer to the stone the builder used for the fireplace. The work was started on schedule and completed in the promised time frame.

I had the pleasure of working with Amanda from Eclipse. She designed a landscape plan for my property based on my budget (a new home with minimal builder landscape) and took the time to go over her ideas with me and ask for my input. During the actual work, she was out daily to supervise and take care of any unforeseen problems. The work was completed in a timely fashion and the worksite was left in a pristine condition. Amanda and her crew did an outstanding job and completed the job within budget.

<br />Our grass was dying, our backyard was a little blah, and the dog had run some ?trails? where the grass would no longer grow and thus became mud pits. We met with Jay and his associate Amanda and were presented with a plan. Jay is very professional and really makes an effort to understand and work with you -- he is very responsive and has great solutions! Amanda likewise has a wealth of knowledge in plants and is great to work with! The entire team was very hard-working and detailed. We had landscaping and lawn replacement done in the front and back yards, which included a custom-built plant box along the pool wall and a small patio. And thanks to a dog-run solution, peace has been restored in our household now that the dog no longer constantly runs into the house with muddy paws. Very impressed with Jay and his team and will definitely work with them again. <br />

Since I was very pleased with what Shawn Dane and his crew did on creating an RV pad for me, I also used them to patch some huge bare spots in the front yard with sod. Their professionalism, timing and work was, again excellent. They pulled up the old weeds/grass, put topsoil down and then put the sod down. Excellent work. Right after, we had a really bad freeze which affected the sod. I called Shawn and, not problem, they stick by their work. They replaced the frozen sod at no additional cost. Their follow-through and customer service was some of the best I've ever seen. I highly recommend this company and specifically Shawn and his crew. <br />

The plants are so beautiful; we could not be more pleased. Amanda Dunlap was the Consultant/Designer/Forewoman for the project and she did an amazing job. She is very knowledgeable of plants native to this area; what grows well in our soil and what is resistant to deer. Amanda is very easy to talk to and was able to take my rough ideas and design a beautiful landscape. All of the planting was done by hand! The crew, Tino and Samuel are hard working and polite. They did an amazing job digging through the rock and clay that we call dirt. We love our new landscape and highly recommend Eclipse Landscape! <br />

Fabulous! Very professional and hardworking. Had excellent suggestions and was very patient with my changes. I was very impressed with the skills and thought that went into every detail of the whole project from the prep work, making sure there would be proper drainage, to all the finishing details. Jay and the crew were wonderful to work with and Amanda was very knowledgeable and helpful with the plants. I have a very shady yard and she steered me toward the best plants for this environment while still taking into consideration my preferences for color and overall look that I desired. I will be working with them again to complete the front yard landscaping and would definitely recommend them! <br />

Called Eclipse late Saturday afternoon. Jay Sexton answered the call. He came over that day to check out the yard. We immediately felt comfortable with him and were impressed with the suggestions he made for the patio. A couple days later he came over with a design and price quote. My husband and I originally wanted concrete then changed it to stone. Jay suggested a place to go and look at stone. He worked with us to come up with the perfect patio. He even made sure it was completed before our requested deadline. We love it. In fact we have contracted Jay to do more work for us this summer. He was and is reasonable, punctual and dependable. I am also very hard to please and I love my patio! <br />

Overall, it was a good job done by Eclipse. Few things to note on the B grades - Did not get a timely response a few times when I had questions. I did get the response but with delays sometimes - While laying out the grass, I had specifically asked to watch out for the sprinklers. there was one sprinkler head that was covered by grass. nothing major, but wanted to specify the reason for the grade. - I think overall price was not too high but it was a bit higher compared to the research I had done and also there is no referral program.

Good results, reasonably professional, and prompt. Only complaint is Jay showed up on one occasion unannounced, but issue was rectified and did not happen again. Definitely one of the better service providers I've contracted work out to. <br />
