The EDM Contracting team did an excellent job remodeling our kitchen. They were professionals that paid attention to the small details. We did a full renovation. New cabinets, moved the sink, added a dishwasher, and additional lighting. The end result exceeded our expectations.

I recommend EDM Contracting. John & his crew renovated my 2 family home. The work was incredible. John was professional, courteous and patient. His crew were very detailed and clean. Not knowing much about home improvements, he was able to assist me in the many options of places to use for cabinets, flooring, and fixtures.

My experience with EDM Contracting was excellent. It was a full gut job and they were able to get the entire thing done in the time promised and they did a great job! The owner was very patient with me and helped me a lot along the way. I love the end result and I would absolutely recommend them!

About EDM & our project overall. After evaluating several different contractors from the well established to the off-the books workers, we found EDM to be the best value. John's team were experienced professionals and his quotes were reasonably priced. John was very responsive to questions and returned phone calls very quickly. He made himself available to discuss the project every step of the way. The open communication made working with him and his team a very pleasant experience. John will let you pick your own materials and design. Then his team will install them as you instruct. His carpenter, electrician, tiling guy, and cabinet/countertop guy were experienced pros, that worked diligently and responded to feedback positively. Although we had adjustments to make during the project, they took care of it as instructed with no problem. The plumbing work was better than i expected. However, due to personal reasons his initial plumber had to leave during the project and John had to pull in another plumber who was even more experienced to finish the job. I would recommend John's team to do any kitchen and bath project. However, i would consult with him on the status of his plumber due to recent changes in his team. The changes in his team lead to my project taking longer than expected. Other than that, we are happy that we hired EDM. About our kitchen portion of the project. We had to completely demo & renovate a 1950's kitchen. This included splitting the large open space to add a full bathroom next to the new kitchen. It also included closing up an old window and relocating the window to another wall in the kitchen. We removed the old kitchen door and added a new door & storm door. The stove, sink & refrigerator was relocated in the kitchen and added a dishwasher. The refrigerator is encased by custom pantry cabinets. The old kitchen did not have traditional cabinets so we added tall 42" custom cabinets that flushed to the ceiling with molding. We chose custom fitted wrap around Quartz counter-top. The old kitchen had an old built-in cabinet which was demolished to open a walkway to the future bathroom. We added a microwave vent over the stove that vented through the top of the cabinets to outside. Installed recessed dimmable LED ceiling lighting, under cabinet lighting, an exterior floodlight and new electrical outlets for counter-top appliances. We installed porcelain tile flooring & tile back splash. During the kitchen installation, there were adjustments to be made in the cabinets but it was fixed with no hassle from his carpenter. The back door purchased was the wrong size and the replacement door from Home Depot was cracked. But John had it replaced and installed with no hassle or additional charge to me. His carpenter put extra effort during a winter storm which we appreciated. The kitchen came out beautiful. It is definitely an improvement to our home. About the bathroom portion of the project. The initial plumber did a good job installing new plumbing for the new bathroom. This included running piping through the basement to the main waste line which was far away. They also replaced & relocated some old piping that was in the way to make room for the new pipes. After his old plumber could not complete the project for personal reasons, John's substitute plumber finished the job installing new piping for the baseboard radiator. The bathroom included a tub with shower, dual flush toilet, sink over a base cabinet, a medicine cabinet with mirror, towel rack, toilet paper roll holder, a new door framed with molding. The tub ordered from home depot was cracked but John had it replaced with no hassle to me. The shower tiling included an artistic window illusion which was installed beautifully. There were some other minor tiling issues but they were corrected without any push back. Due to spacing issues we had a change in the sink cabinet but it was ultimately installed nicely. Overall the new spare bathroom on the main floor is now more beautiful than our master bathroom upstairs.

The work is fantastic. John and his crew were efficient, professional and completed the job on-time. The room looks beautiful and we’re really enjoying it. We’re also really happy to be able to get into the attic without having to skip over broken steps.

Overall, I am happy with how the bathroom came out. John is very easy to work with and makes an effort to accommodate.

The job went good, contractors were very friendly, professional and attentive to my needs and concerns. The job was done in a timely manner and kept very clean throughout renovation. John and Shane went above and beyond to make sure things were done right and made sure I was completely happy with the end results. Mr Makris was reliable and prompt. He explained the scope of work and time frame when the work would be done. I hired him to paint a basement following a previous leak I had that went into the basement. He was great with communication. Texting and calling during the whole scope of the job. We are an 80 year old couple and they were very respectful and exceeded our expectation. We will be hiring them again to renovate our kitchen in the spring 2018.

Scope of work included Demo of old bathroom from 1961 (Several layers of floor tile). Bathroom was completely gutted. I purchased all fixtures, tub, cabinet, toilet and paint. EDM provided all other building materials. Work took less than 3 weeks to complete. Workman were professional and friendly and sensitive to our schedule.

We had been looking for a contractor to renovate our bathroom at a price we could afford, and thankfully we found EDM Contracting on Angie's List. The owner John came out, listened carefully to our plans, and pointed out things we hadn't considered, such as the water supply lines would have to be moved to accommodate the new single sink vanity we had bought. He drew up a thorough scope of work with a very fair estimate, and set a date to start. We were keeping our current tub as a way to save money, but everything else was torn to the studs and redone., and all other fixtures replaced. Shane was the supervisor on-site, and he and his crew were careful to shield the rest of the house from dust & dirt as much as possible during the renovation. Our house is very old and wonky, and so issues came up as we went, such as needing to modify the design of the shower niches we had discussed, or suggesting a modification of the design of the tile to hide the fact that our tub wasn't completely level, or shaving down the new door little by little to accommodate our seriously unlevel doorframe so that the inherent flaws of the house weren't visible.. Shane worked with me through every step, helping me to visualize the choices I needed to make - the height of the mirror, the position of the sconce lights above it, and the exact placement of every fixture down to the robe hook on the door. He even held the shower head up to the wall and demonstrated how it would look with and without the extended shower arm in order for me to choose how high I wanted it. Both he and Gabriel, the other crew member, were unfailingly friendly and polite, and did their best to accommodate my requests - such as Gabriel figuring out a way to install a strainer in the tub but still being able to have a stopper so that it still could be filled for a bath by combining two different fixtures I had purchased. That meant a lot to me! Another example was that I had hoped the mirrored medicine cabinet I had chosen could be recessed, but after the walls were opened up Shane determined that it would undermine the integrity of the wall, and so did a surface mount. This impacted the faucet for the vessel sink I had chosen, since it was so tall it now didn't have enough space above it to function. John and Gabriel came back to take care of all the final details, and installed a new (shorter) faucet and drain at no charge, even though it was my own lack of foresight that made that necessary. He stood by his initial estimate, and any additional items that came up (such as installing a new heater and a new door) were discussed and agreed upon in advance. We now have a beautiful new bathroom and would not hesitate to hire EDM Contracting again!

Very well. There were a lot of plumbing and electrical issues in this old, cheaply built building, but John figured out solutions for everything, explained the options to me and advised me on other things that weren't part of his contract. John, Gabe and James were always professional and friendly and did their best to address my concerns. Their price was much lower than other contractors' bids.

They where very good and had great suggestions when I was stuck. They were always on time, clean and courteous.

It went very well. Everyone was great and very helpful with suggestions and the bathroom was done in a quick and timely fashion.

John Makris and his crew did a phenomenal job at an extremely reasonable price. The bathrooms both turned out beautifully.John was extremely detail oriented and knowledgeable and his work exceeded our expectations. Everything was clearly explained to us prior to the work being started and we were constantly consulted along the way. The job was completed for the estimated amount with no additional added costs and was finished in a very reasonable amount of time. We would definitely hire EDM again.

EDM Contracting did a great job on our apartment. Good communication and updates on how the project was progressing. John obviously has a lot of experience, and provided great advice and suggestions, especially with our windows - our sills were very ugly and shoddy, and replacing them wasn't part of our original project, but he gave us our options and was able to add them to the project very quickly. He was also very responsive to our requests, and came back several times after the main work was done to fix small things (cracks, missed spots, etc). The price was very fair, and we're really happy with the results. We will definitely keep EDM in mind for future projects.

EDM CONTRACTING met with me regarding a complete gut of my kitchen and full bath. <br /> They help with the initial design ...the kicker was first the demo was completed quickly and clean debris were removed from site and EDM suggested a electrician which also worked out very well the wiring and plumbing completed the walls where sheet rocked plastered the floor was tiled by EDM Contracting beautifully done cabinets glass tile backslash granite counters Top grade cherry cabinets also provided by EDM CONTRACTING. Finish work and paint was top notch. ..The bathroom was also gutted and finished with such quality. Very Very happy.
