Don is a nice guy. The biggest problem is you never know when you will hear back from them. Their prices are very competitive and they were 35% cheaper than the next competitor in town. The work that gets done in top-notch, but you just never know when it will get done. They do great work.

They did a lot of good work around my house on my plants and things. Given the size of the tree, it was about $2000 to take down the tree and the other stuff was about $1500 total, which was $1000 for the cleanup of the yard and $500 to trim all the hedges and the trees and all that. What stood out was the fact that the boss man, Donald was actually on site and paid attention. Some places, you hire them, and they just send a crew and the crew doesn’t seem to know what is going on, whereas with these guys everything was very well organized, done very efficiently and it was a grown-up onsite making sure everything was done properly.

The storm hit about 6PM on a Tuesday. A fair amount of damage, and my car was blocked in the car port by the tree that was now leaning against my house. I imagined that it would  be days before getting somebody out to remove the tree. I figured I would need to miss a lot of time at my job. Also I was concerned that I would be charged a premium because of the immediate need and precarious situation I was in. Went to Angie's list and found "Edwards Tree and Lawn Service." I called and left a message on Edward's answering machine about 9PM (Tuesday). <br />        At 9 AM the next morning (Wednesday), Mr. Edwards was at my front door. He took a thorough look around, quoted an estimate, that I knew was reasonable and left. In 45 minutes he was back with his crew, in four or five hours, the tree was cut up and piled in the front of my house. He and his personnel were courteous and thorough -- particularly in cleaning up. They were careful not to create more damage in the removal of this big big tree, and were even careful about not marring my driveway. They took care to get all the wood chips off of the lawn. I could not have asked for better. Within an hour of their departure, I had a detailed receipt via e-mail. <br /> The next morning they were out early to pick up the cutup tree and branches -- again did a super job cleaning up. It is now Thursday and this unfortunate situation is behind me. Edwards' completed the job (including clean up) even before my insurance adjuster got here -- I am still waiting for the insurance adjuster to fit me in his schedule. That is responsive. I would use Edwards again and have scheduled additional work with them. Very pleased. <br />

This is the third time I have used Edward's in the last 5 years, at two separate residences. Donald and crew are the best, hands down. I don't even call other companies when I need tree work done. From the estimate, to work day, to the thorough walkthrough after the job is complete, Donald is extremely professional, fair, and knowledgeable. I would, and do, recommend Edward's to everyone I know that needs tree work. <br /> For this job, exactly like past jobs, Donald expertly maneuvered the stump grinding machine into a tight spot in the backyard, ensuring not to damage a chain link fence that the tree was growing through. His crew removed large limbs that were growing over the house, all while dropping large pieces of the tree exactly where they intended. The entire process was perfect as always. <br /> In addition to the two trees, Donald and crew pruned and trimmed small trees and brush from a fence line. They removed all of the over grown branches from around power lines with ease. I can't say enough about how great Edward's Lawn and Tree. <br /> Do yourself a favor and don't waste time and effort on calling any other company!

A very large oak tree was partially overhanging my house and had quite a lot of deadwood including largish branches high in the tree (after many years of neglect).  The company coordinated the work to coincide with a larger job being performed for a neighbor.  The work was completed professionally and in my opinion with good judgment about exactly what to prune, removing branches that were too close to the house and opening up the tree so that it looks better and is probably healthier.  All deadwood was removed.  An aluminum fence and a number of azaleas and other plants under the tree's spread were protected from any incidental damage.  The crew did a fine job of cleaning up debris.  They did more work than we had agreed to but there was no extra charge.  I recommend this service provider. <br />

Kyle was very responsive to our request for service and his quote was on par with what we expected. They did a great job! We had take care of the monstrous leaves that had fallen in our front and back yard from last year and this year. It was a total mess since we had just  moved in and the property had been neglected for some months.The guys were always on time which was amazing. If we need to have leaf removal done again, would definitely hire them. <br />

We couldn't be happier with the services we received from Edwards Lawn & Tree.  The quote was significantly lower than quotes we received from two other local, well-rated companies.  In addition, Edwards threw in some free extras for trimming back a few other trees which we hadn't even originally included in the job.   Although the job was delayed for a week or two due to heavy rains and a soaked lawn, they stayed in touch to schedule a mutually agreeable date to come out, and checked the yard a few times in the days before starting work to ensure the work could be done safely and without tearing up our lawn. <br /> All work was performed exactly as agreed-upon and when we arrived home on the second day, everything was cleaned up and they even re-graded some holes in our lawn by filling them with soil and mulch, and attractively re-configured the border of one of our garden beds where the largest tree had been removed.  They were careful to remove all items on our deck before cutting down a large tree right next to the deck and house, and there was no damage whatsoever despite this very large 100 foot + poplar being only inches from our deck.  <br /> We highly recommend Edwards and will definitely use them again. <br />

All work was performed per agreement including moving firewood and other items from backyard to garage. Complete removal of all debris. I was very satisfied with the work and will use this provider on a regular basis. <br />

Everything went great- the estimate was within my range and the work was scheduled and completed within one week. No evidence left behind of any limbs or leaves. One note, though- be specific about the wood chips being taken away. I thought that it was agreed to that they would take them away because on the quote it said 'haul away debris', but I wasn't specific and am left with two big holes filled with wood chips. <br />

They were very courteous and helpful over the phone to explain all proposed work. They showed up on time and did a very good job (especially the removal of a large tree). One tree was left a little rough around the edges (and a small amount of debris was left), but I didn't think that should detract much from their overall rating. I would definitely call them again for estimates on future tree work.

Edward's was very responsive when I called for the estimate and Donald was able to come out the following day for an estimate.  "Superstorm" Sandy had just swept through, so it was a busy time for them, but he was very accommodating to our time line of wanting to get everything done ASAP.  I scheduled the work to be done as quickly as they could, and they were supposed to come out on Friday Nov 9.  For some reason they weren't able to come out that day, and rescheduled for the following day at noon.  Noon came and went and they still hadn't shown up.  Finally they called and said they would be there around 2 or 3, and they finished up as it was getting dark.  They did a good job, and the yard wasn't worse-for-wear after all their massive trucks came through.  The guy overseeing the job said he was supposed to "collect payment" as soon as they finished, which seemed a little dubious to me, as it's typical to receive a final bill before requesting payment.  Edward's emailed me a bill the following day, at which point I paid with my credit card, and that seemed to work out fine. <br />

Bottom line is that this is a skilled tree company with dedicated staff who get the job done at a fair price.  I plan to use them in the future.   <br /> Donald, the owner, is extremely knowledgeable about trees.  When he checked out the trees on my property, he promptly gave me a call and gave me a lot of detail about problematic aspects about my trees.  He offered to meet me in person to explain the issues he saw.  A few days later, early on a Saturday morning, he came out to the house and gave my husband and I a detailed explanation about our tree problems.  He emailed me a quote within a few hours.   <br /> I'd met with an arborist and gotten quotes from three other tree companies, as well as quote from tree guys (probably unlicensed) trolling around my neighborhood.  Donald gave me the same assessment and advice as the arborist, demonstrating a similar depth of knowledge about trees.  There was a wide range in the quotes I got but the comparable quote for removal of the 2 silver maples and pruning of the 3rd was over $6K.  The $6K quote included the use of a crane.  Edward's did not have to use a crane to get the job done. <br /> Work had to be rescheduled because of rain and Donald was concerned that proceeding on the original date would mess up my lawn.  The crew showed up 2 days later and did a good job.  All of the crew members seemed hardworking and each person seemed to have his specialty job.  They were very conscientious about not damaging things on the property.  Did a great job cleaning up the huge amount of mess. <br />

Edward's negotiated a reasonable price and though slightly higher than another company, I chose them because they were on Angie's List and was generally more responsive.  The crew was professional and did the work thoroughly.  I would have given them A's all across but they let some branches fall on my neighbor's fence, which caused two wood bars to break.  They either didn't notice this or overlooked it and I had to call Don to alert him to it.  He did come by the next day to inspect the damage and said he would work with my neighbor directly to get the fence fixed.  I do believe he tried to contact my neighbor once but maybe my neighbor was not at home that day because my neighbor has since told me that Edward's has never contacted him.  I would have expected better follow through on Edward's part to fix my neighbor's fence even if it was minor.  My neighbor had even hired them to remove some bushes from his house that same day but the crew's equipment for the job turned out to be broken so they didn't do the work and didn't schedule a return trip.  For the work performed on removing our trees though, I would rate them an A and would still recommend them. <br />

Service was excellent.  They came and did the estimate and then were able to perform the work the next day.  They cleaned up all the debris including going on the roof to make sure there was no debris up there.  The tree had grown right next to the house and they took great care to not damage the house but at the same time working to get as much of the tree removed.  They got almost all of it up.  More then I thought would be possible. <br /> <br /> I would definitely use them again.  Donald took the time to answer all my questions and explained everything he was going to do and how he was going to do it before starting work.

I contacted two companies on Monday and they both were able to do estimates that day. Donald actually called me while he was at the house to talk me through what he would do specifically to the tree, which I very much appreciated. He said he'd send me a quote via e-mail that evening and was true to his word. As it turns out, both companies' quotes were the same price but since Donald was already working in the area, he was able to do the pruning the same week. He originally said he'd be able to do it on Tuesday but called later that day to let me know that his first job of that day ran much longer than anticipated and would have to take care of my job on Wednesday. As soon as he was done on Wednesday, he sent me a text to let me know. I really appreciated how Donald communicated with me throughout the process, great customer service. The tree looks great and as was the cleanup, wouldn't have known that a few hours earlier there were branches all over.

The crew arrived when promised and worked quickly.  All the debris was picked up after the job, and the trees / front yard looked great.

When we moved into our new house in late August (the weekend of Irene, of course), we knew that we needed to have the large magnolia tree in our front yard pruned and trimmed back from the mass of cables that run from the street through it to the house. Irene also damaged a large wisteria vine in the back yard and broke the trellis supporting the vine. My husband called Don around Thanksgiving to ask for a quote to take care of the tree and the vine; he returned the call promptly (taking the holiday into account). He came by the next day for an estimate (which was in line with what we were hoping to pay to have everything taken care of) and we added a few additional items to the list after discussing two other trees in the front yard that needed a bit of work. His crew was here two days later at the agreed-upon time. Everyone was professional and they did a wonderful job with both the work and clean up, going out of their way to remove debris. Even though we had a relatively small job, Don made us feel like a priority. He and his crew were easy to work with and we are extremely satisfied with the results. We'll definitely use them again in the future.

Fantastic. Called for an estimate a Friday evening when the owner was leaving the gym, and he stopped by 5 minutes later, despite the timing. His bid was the most reasonable of all the bids we received, and his work was very high quality. After we decided to go with him, we were scheduled for the next day (2 weeks out from a hurricane). The clean-up was immaculate - I don't even think his crew left a pine needle behind. Would certainly use them again.

I was able to get a quote on the work to be done the same day I made the request. <br /> On the day of service Donald and his crew showed up on time and worked in a very organized fashion to remove both trees.  The job was tricky since they had to work around power lines but they made it look simple.  Also they needed to work in tight quarters but again that didn't seem to pose any problem for them.  I was amazed how quickly they were able to take the trees down, chip all the brush, grind the stumps (one was huge) and load chunks of the tree trunk onto their truck.  They took the time to trim another tree where the branches were touching the house and did other small extra tasks just to spruce up the area where the trees were removed - the extra items were not part of the contract and they saved me a lot of time and frustration.  My experience was good and I would certainly use their services again.  I am new to Angie's List - this was my first hire from Angie's list and I am happy to be a member!

Went very well.  They came to do the job and it only took a couple hours to take down 2 very large trees and grind out their stumps.  Then they grounded out the stump of an old stump that had been in the yard for a long time.  I couldn't believe how quick and inexpensive they were to do all that.  They cleaned up well too.  I would hire no other to do tree care!

From start to finish, excellent work.  On time, performed to the standard he described, and best price from among three other bids for the same work.  Professional in every aspect.  He and his crews so superb work and when they are finished your yard will be completely cleaned up.  Nothing left for you to do other than enjoy the results. Will continue to use Don and I continue to recommend him to anyone in need of tree service, regardless how large or small.

I first contacted Don just before the Memorial Day holiday. He returned my call and apologized that he wouldn't be able to get to us until after the holiday but that he would call the following week. He did not. However, based on the reviews here, I wanted to give him another chance. I called again last week and he was very prompt in returning my calls and he came out within 2 days to give an estimate and then a few days later out to do the work. He recommended that we take down 2 trees that we weren't actually intending to do right away. However, we knew eventually we needed to, so I wasn't bothered by the suggestion. He was right. I didn't obtain any other estimates, so I have to assume that the price was reasonable. Based on previous trees we had removed by 2 other tree contractors, I do believe the price was right. I didn't offer the information that I was an Angie's List member when he was giving the estimate. Only after. He didn't offer the coupon and since I knew it was going to be really hot when they were out to do the work, I didn't mention it, either. I have to hope that he is giving that extra 10-20% to his crew. The crew showed up on time and got to work immediately. Don was present when they arrived. This was important to me because a previous tree contractor had actually taken down the wrong tree. I was a little paranoid. Don understood my paranoia and reassured me that he wasn't going to repeat their mistake. The crew showed up at 9am and left sometime between 3:30 and 4:30 (I wasn't home at that time). They worked solidly during the day and cleaned up the debris. I was very happy with their service and would definitely use them again.

We are very pleased with Edward's Lawn & Tree Service.  We have a number of trees on our property that have required work from time to time; and, in the past, we have used other service providers.  So, we thought that we knew what to expect.  But Edward's showed us what quality tree service looks like.  They did a fantastic job.  We are really, really pleased with their work.
