John was referred to us, and after one meeting, I could tell that he would be the perfect person to manage our project. He and Ellen were knowledgeable, honest, helpful and understanding. They worked with our rigid budget with incredible flexibility. Any mistakes, which are a realistic part of any large scale project, were acknowledged and promptly and fairly resolved. Edwin Anthony did a fantastic job rebuilding our home after we had a devastating house fire that destroyed most of our home. They worked hand and hand with us and our insurance company to help us rebuild the home with an updated design adding an additional bedroom, bring the house up to current codes, and helping us to customize the house to our tastes and needs. We couldn't be happier with the house they built for us, and we wouldn't hesitate to hire them again.

We hired Edwin Anthony Homes to build a new house in the downtown Royal Oak area.  We worked with them from the initial blueprint stage through the final punch list and they did a very professional job.  <br /> They handled permits, inspections and subcontractors as well as a large variety of miscellaneous issues that inevitably arise in a project of this size.  John and Todd were very knowledgeable about the building process and kept the project on track despite our decision to start in the middle of the worst Michigan winter I've ever seen.  John has built over 600 homes so he knows how to avoid potential issues.  He also had a number of clever ideas to optimize the space, smooth out the construction process and save money.  And he proved you can excavate, pour concrete, and frame in a frigid and snowy winter if you have good planning, good subs and attention to the small details. <br /> They have had extensive long-term relationships with the subcontractors they used which I think contributed to the quality of the build, the competitiveness of their pricing and the lack of issues during the build process.  I know they do smaller projects as well, but the way they handled everything from the demo of the existing house to the constuction of the new one showed they know what they're doing and are capable of handling big projects. <br /> Communication was very good throughout, and they were generous with their time when it came to mulling over design decisions or selecting items.  In sum, I would happily use them again. <br />
