.He asked if there were any other items I needed done while he was there.  I had him add a plug receptacle outside in my back yard  and he replaced a good portion of the electrical power box in my house becauese it was no longer up to code.  I checked into it to make sure he wasn't selling me a bill of goods.  It did need to be updated.   <br /> It was a lot more than I was planning to spend but I feel like it was the right decision. <br />

I've been reluctant to write this review for almost a year and a half but have decided to recount my unfortunate and <br /> very costly experience with this company.  This is the "deal" I signed up for on Angie's List:  $39 for a Whole-House Electrical <br /> Inspection PLUS $99 Credit Toward Service, purchased on April 29, 2014 with ElectraMedics Electrical Services. <br />         The cover plate of four electrical outlets in my house had become loose from the wall and the wires  exposed.  I was concerned that this posed a hazard.  When the tech finished repair of the four outlets, he asked if I wanted to have everyone of the remaining numerous outlets "inspected and rewired."  The charge, he said in a rather cavalier fashion, is $1600. <br />         I told him that was not the contract I purchased on Angie's List.  He looked at me and asked if I was sure I didn't want all outlets checked out.  I reluctantly agreed as he stared at me with an expression on his face that the future of the Western World hung on <br /> my answer. <br />         Did he twist my arm?  Of course not.  Did he exert any pressure on me?  Well, after all, I'm was a little 72 year old white haired lady who, perhaps he assumed, would be more vulnerable to a little push. <br />         I guess what I'm trying to say is, whether you're 23 or 72, take a few breaths and take your time in considering an offer that goes far beyond what you asked for.   Oh, well, at least I did get a nice $99 discount for the $1600 worth of service. <br />

The blower on the furnace stopped working.  The technician showed up on time, wore surgical booties over his shoes (to prevent tracking dirt into the house), and successfully diagnosed and replaced the bad capacitor.  I asked him why the unit was turning on and off frequently and after some further inspection he explained it was because there was not sufficient return air coming to the unit causing the furnace to over heat (due to low air flow), turns off, cools down, then turns back on again repeating the cycle.  He recommended a couple simple solutions that I could do myself (if I felt comfortable).  Nice guy - friendly, professional, knowledgable, and didn't try to gouge me for every penny. <br />
