Elite Remodel and Roofing

Mike Wimer, Owner of Elite Remodel LLC, who changed his business name to Elite Remodel and Roofing and moved his business to 6966 Shawnee Rd., Milford, DE 19963 (302) 396-0550 eliteremodelllc@gmail.com, did not complete paid-for repairs at our home in Frederica, DE, and misrepresented that work had been completed in order to obtain additional draws. He damaged our home and took off without completing the job, owing us approximately $8,890 in deposit money we've paid for uncompleted work. Mr. Wimer began the home improvement/renovation at our home in Kent County, DE, in August 2019 and represented that the work would be finished in 4 - 6 weeks. He disappeared for weeks on end with no communication, went on vacation during our job, and falsely stated in December 2019 that he had completed the project in order to induce us to send him more money. Because it was 10 days before Christmas and he claimed he was unable to send pictures because he had to have surgery, we sent him another partial draw with the agreement that he would send pictures as soon as he had recovered from the surgery. He never contacted us again. We drove to the house and could not get in because when he replaced the door and the lock, he kept the keys and left the lockbox hanging open and empty twice. Once we got into the house, we saw that there was no carpet in the living room ($1680), the fireplace was not completed and he framed over the safety kill switch ($775), the drywall repairs and painting throughout the house were not completed ($2800), many small repairs he said he'd finished had not been completed ($360), paint was splashed on the carpets in the bedrooms ($500+ to repair/replace), and much of the outside work (sealing/weatherizing storage unit ($300), shower door retractable screen ($275), white pvc trim around carports ($1000), pressure wash/seal/paint under house (1/2 done $1075), pent roof over front door incomplete ($500)). Additionally, the new storm door he had installed was removed and propped up in the living room with bent/damaged hinges ($700). The house has been uninhabitable since August 2019 and Mr. Wimer owes us $8,890 for work we paid him for based on his false representations that he has not completed. Mr. Wimer is neither trustworthy nor reliable, and the quality of his work in inconsistent. We want a refund of the $8,890 we paid him for work he falsely represented he had finished. UPDATE: Elite Remodel LLC did a great deal of damage to our house, did not respond to requests to remedy the defects, and we had to spend over $20,000 to repair damage to floors and walls from improperly installed windows, which allowed rainwater to pour in. Mike Wimer of Elite Remodel talked a really good game and won the job to complete our total home remodel, which included bathrooms, a kitchen, window replacement, water damage repair, new ceilings, roof repair, painting the whole interior, replacing laminate flooring, new carpet throughout, rebuilding a shed, installing a parking area, repairing the roof, and rebuilding and staining a large deck. Elite Remodel did a very poor job with windows, trim, roofing, and other repairs and disappeared when we tried to follow up with them to repair damage and replace things that needed to be replaced. Communication was very poor and we only received replies when Elite wanted monetary draws and Elite did not stand behind any of the work they did. We do not recommend Elite Remodel LLC for any project. They are dishonest and not trustworthy and their workmanship is terrible.

Mike estimated the time and money required for the work and dealt very well with additions that came up. We would have no question about hiring his team for future work. They are reliable, professional and responsive.

Amazing Job! The moment I spoke with Michael I knew I called the right company. He is a wonderful person to talk to and he explains the process on each and every project. I have been a happy, satisfied, and devoted customer. He has done at least three projects on my home and is in the process of doing another. Every project he does he goes above and beyond. He made me feel very important as a customer no matter how big or small the project. I also commend him on how he answers questions, returns calls, and met with me to set up and complete each job in a very timely manner. Michael did a wonderful job and I have never had anyone better or with better PRICES! I would definitely recommend him to anyone !

I really liked his work and it was how I would do it, if I could do the work myself. He uses quality products, at a reasonable rate. He paid attention to detail. He was really nice and easy to deal with.
