We saw all these great reviews on Angie's list about Elliott's sprinklers. We had also heard some good things about them a few years ago after we had already put our system in. Unfortunately our experience was <strong>horrible</strong>. We wanted the soaker hoses to be changed out to heads, we also had places in our lawn/flower beds that would either flood or not get enough water. We wanted them to fix that problem. Steve is who came out and gave us a quote and told us it would take about 3 days. The first day he showed up with someone and they worked all day and seemed to be doing ok. Needless to say after that it was a hit and miss as to when and how long Steve would show up and work. There seemed to always be some type of drama going on with him. We lost 2 mature bushes because the 3 day job took 2 months! Because the job was at the end of summer beginning of fall, we didn't know exactly how the watering flow would turn out when used a lot, so that is why I waited to write the review after we have had one full watering summer. Even though we paid him Oct. of 2014 we have been trying to make contact again since August of 2015 as well.. Well, the problems we were having with places flooding while others not getting enough water are worse than before. We have contacted Steve many times and he never shows up. One time when we called someone else told us that Steve had been to our house and adjusted things? Our water doesn't need adjusting! The way he set up the stations and mixed the type of heads are not working! There is also a leak somewhere in one of the valves yet we can't find what he did so we can stop the leak ourselves! so it looks like we may lose mature trivet!  I always try to use the small companies that have been part of our Bakersfield community for a long time; was really hoping for a better experience. p.s. Steve assured us there was a 2 year warranty on the work. Good luck getting them back out!

Dominic is the worker who was out here.  He worked steadily and fixed all of my issues.  I was very pleased and I'm putting them in my phone book to call in the future.  He told me about a system they have to water more effectively and use less water.  So the next time they are out, I will check this out.  Good job! <br />

I am new to this house and not familiar with the irrigation system which was allowing a lot of water to run into the street. Also there was a constant puddle in one area. Mike Elliott came promptly after my call. He recommended replacing the heads to more water conservative models and his crew came out on the same day. Heads were replaced, a faulty valve was repaired and the system was programmed to operate under the new city rules on watering. The whole job took about 2 hours. The crew cleaned up the yard areas where they worked. This company was efficient and pleasant. <br />

We had a total of 4 bids from different local licensed landscape contractors. The first thing that attracted us to Elliot's Sprinklers and Landscape was their presentation of their estimated bid proposal for our backyard. Mike Elliot himself emailed me in 48 hours and had a 5 page written estimate with each category highlighted in complete detail. Every aspect from design, square footage and materials being used were priced accordingly. You know they took the time and research to make sure that everything is valued accordingly. Most bids we receive from other landscape contractors were just 1 page and only showed the approximate cost. Elliot's Sprinkler and Landscape are also big in water conservation which was also a big plus for me considering California's current drought crisis. <br /> Mike Elliot worked with the design I had in mind and had many helpful recommendations which I would never have thought of doing. He made the necessary adjustments to stay within my budget. His team of professionals who is led by Jon were all courteous, hardworking and answered all of my questions and made sure I have full understanding how each element works in my backyard. All materials used were top quality. The irrigation system used were all water efficient or has water saving features. Workmanship was nothing but excellent, Mike Elliot sets a high standard and has a keen attention to detail where minor imperfections such as a drip system tubing showing above ground will be corrected. The trees and shrubs that were planted in my backyard not only had good variation but also served a purpose.  <br /> One of the most important aspects of backyard landscape that usually gets overlooked at is it's drainage system. A backyard won't function well and can create problems if water can't exit out in the front. When he had some heavy rain a couple of weekends ago, excess rain water were all directed and collected to the 4 drains they had installed. This means that they had planned and graded my soil appropriately where no water will remain stagnant. They even placed 2 drains on my concrete patio. <br /> Elliot's Sprinkler and Landscape stands behind their work and offers 1 year warranty. Dealing with this company is money well spent. <br />

It was my first time using the company and everything went well. Two technicians came out and completed the job in about 5 hours. They were knowledgeable and knew exactly what to do right away. He made a great diagnoses and fixed the issue as soon as he could.They were very prompt, efficient and polite. The pricing was very reasonable and they charged me less than I thought they would. I had no problem scheduling their service. It was a small job and he was able to fit me in.

Began job on the 29th of September and finished up on the 4th of October.  Started up late in the AM & left early the first day or two, but finished all the work by Friday, October 4th.  I had an Angie's List coupon(5% off) that could not be honored, but Elliott's compensated me by not charging for the removal of the tree.  They even dug out the stump!  Very pleased with the overall work done. <br />

He re-routed some of the lines in conjunction with the design of the sprinkler heads to maximize efficiency -- a real professional touch. <br /> He checked each water station and sprinkler head for proper operation and coverage.  Very pleased with his work. An excellent job. <br />

We had several broken sprinkler heads and a faulty valve.  They attempted to fix the sprinkler heads and the valve and in the process ruined all the valves in the sprinkler system in the back yard.  The sprinklers came on and they would not shut off and we finally had to turn them off at the main because we could not get  ahold of the repairman.   They did attempt to fix everything ( it took them a whole week)  but we still have several broken sprinkler heads.  I am currently looking for someone else who does sprinkler repair to fix the rest of the broken sprinkler heads because I am afraid to have this company work on them again.  . <br />

All work performed was on our front lawn.We had called around to get a few quotes to compare before we settled on Elliott's Sprinkler. They were by far the most professional of the 3. The first one didn't even measure the yard, and never even called us back with a  quote. The 2nd guy did the foot measuring method. While I understand he may have had lots of experience, it still left me a bit unsure. Elliott's Sprinkler sent out Mike. He was very professional. Listened to what I wanted. Then measured out the yard with a measuring wheel. He said we would have a quote for me within 24 hours and would like to some back out and go over it. I only ended up with 2 quotes to work with. The second of the 3 quotes I received the next day. And then Mike came out the next day to go over his quote. Although Elliott's was a little more I still thought they would be the best choice. And I was right. They started out with a blank canvas.  <br /> <br /> We had a weed lawn so we had killed everything and had just dirt left. Unfortunately for them we had not watered in quite a while, so when they started digging for the sprinkler lines and drainage, they might as well have been digging in concrete. But I have to say the 2 guys doing the work didn't complain. And man they worked their butts off. It was hot and they kept at it. The first day they got the whole sprinkler system and drainage line done. Next day they started rototilling the ground to prep and level it for sod. I really felt bad that the ground was so hard. Took them a while to get it done and leveled. But again they worked hard with no complaints. By the end of the second day the ground was leveled and ready for sod. They also planted the 24 gallon Blossoming Pear tree. The 3rd day they showed up. The sod was delivered earlier that morning. They got to work quickly. Before I realized it they had the sod down, and had all the plants set in the ground, and the ground cover in place. It was such a transformation. We had not had grass in over a year, and suddenly we did. They finished up and then cleaned up their mess. <br /> <br /> When they left, you wouldn't have even known they were there, except for the wonderful yard they left behind. I would like to say that John and his brother did a fantastic job. I will be requesting them when we are ready to do more work.A few days later the curbing guys came out to do the curbing. The curbing is done by a sub-contractor. They did a great job, but the messed up the sod a bit and had moved a lot of the mulch and buried it while doing the curbing. I called Elliott's to see if they could sell me more of the mulch so I could replace it. The next day Dan the owner himself, showed up. He gave me the mulch at no charge and even fixed the areas of sod they had messed up. They really went above and beyond in my opinion to give a great service. I would highly recommend them for any work your going to need. (FYI: Do the concrete curbing work first. We did it backwards, but in the future will be getting all that work done before we lay the sod.) We are going to have them do our backyard as soon as we are ready. <br /> <br /> As side note. Please remember that the people who are doing work for you are just that.. PEOPLE. I have seen some people treat workers like this, like they are beneath them. These guys works hard for what they earn. And the last thing they need is someone treating them like they are something less than human. Everything works perfectly now. I can't complain. Their experience really showed in the very swift manner in which they repaired the underground plastic pipes. They also gave me very explicit instructions as to what to do after they had repaired them. They told me not to walk on the ground for a day or two, and not to turn it on for at least 18-24 hours to let the cement set. It is supposed to set very quickly but nevertheless, they said why take chances, and I think that is experience talking. Everything was put back together in a more than acceptable manner. They are also working on a plan for our front yard and I haven’t seen that yet. They are very busy and I am very patient. They were most cooperative. When I asked a question, the older of the two guys gave me an answer, and he told me why it was the answer. He did it very quickly in good, clear English. It was most appreciated. I have used the sprinkler system, and it works. The first time, they called a few hours before they were to be there and said that the job that they were on turned out to be larger than anticipated because the other homeowner wanted them to do something else. The two of them worked together very well. They were very professional and knew exactly what they were doing.
