OK. He came even though it was at night, he was a bit expensive but then it was an emergency

Prior to coming, he requested pics of what I needed. When he came he refused to address my front door locks, or the security door locks as not being necessary. The back door security he took apart and left a tiny piece inside which rendered the lock ineffective. He had to come back to correct this.He was more interested in charging me for a new lock, from the beg`inning, not to mention he did too much talking. He did not consider the discount relevent. As of today 9/13/2018 the lock is not working.

Mike was professional and courteous, job was done as estimated and on time. I can’t say enough about how smooth this went.

Mike was very professional and courteous, he did a great job and was very efficient. I the future I will definitely use Embassy Locksmith for all my locksmith needs.

He replaced my old deadbolts without any issues and I was happy with that work. With respect to advising on replacing the door knob sets, I knew the openings were too large for the mortise set I needed installed and suggested that we could fill the hole and then recut to insert the set properly. He said this was not really possible and told me the size of mortise lock that I needed to buy and that the ones I had purchased wouldn't work. Since his visit, I had the holes refilled and recut and the sets installed and everything fits perfectly (we cleaned it up and painted). He's a good man but what turned me off is that I subscribed to an Angie's list special for $75 to have a lock replaced and he charged me more than $175. I'm posting this more than a year later because I'm on Angie's list looking for a quote and I am asked to review him first.

Considering I had already ordered the service I had the locksmith come out and take a look. He determined that the lock cylinder could be changed for less than a brand new lock. I changed the lock myself in the end.

Excellent. Mike obviously has a tremendous amount of knowledge about locks, and he explains everything he is doing in detail. But more importantly, he's honest and doesn't overcharge/price-gouge like 95% of the locksmiths you might find by using google/yelp/phonebook. Believe me, I've lived in the city for a while and have had multiple locksmith experiences before Embassy. Mike/Embassy is in a class by itself, and I'm going to keep his number handy for as long as I live in NYC--for myself if I ever need a locksmith, and for any family member/friend who might ever need one, too. Highest recommendation.

Mic was quick to respond over Angie's list and we were off to the races. He came by and explained the entire situation regarding my options and the price associated. He just finished the job and was very professional. Would definitely recommended him for any job you may need.

It took a little longer than usual due to the ordering of the a special lock.

One door was easy. The other door was more complicated due to the way the older doorknob and lock were installed, but Mike was patient, took his time and worked out a solution that made the new lock work out perfectly!

I had an excellent experience. They were very nice, and kind. They didn't have a certain part, they had get it and they came right back. Their professionalism, kindness and the way they put the lock in, it was good. I never had a problem with neither services they did.

We bought a 2 family brownstone house that is 100+ year old with 3 floors of living. All entrances of this house needed fresh new locks. The existing locks/door knobs were made of the cheap glass/crystal which can break easily. Due to the high number of locks I needed, I contacted 3 locksmiths for an estimate. Mike of Embassy Locksmith showed up on time and gave me the estimate on the same day. Because of the high number of locks he also waived his service fee. Mike's estimate was in the middle. I chose to go with Mike because of his promptness, demeanor, and professionalism. After the initial deposit, he ordered the locks and was ready to install them by the following week. But I had to change the installation schedule so many times because of a new grand baby arrival and the property was about 2 hours away from our home residence. Mike was very patient with me in spite of my constant schedule changes which I really appreciated. He also made an extra trip with my son and accommodated additional changes. Since the house is very old, many doors required special care during installation. Mike was very creative in making adjustments with extra washers, extra plates, altered strike plates etc, he made all the locks to be functional. This job required about 2 full days. I highly recommend Mike whether it is one lock or many locks. You wont be disappointed.
