E & M Pest Management

He was great on the phone and was very responsive with calling back. I also got a coupon too. He said on the phone that he would look over the entire house, exterior and interior. As well as the basement. When he got here he didn't spend a lot of time look, so I then asked him to go through the whole house and look. He then asked if we were leaving the back door open and he mentioned that was how the mice might be coming in. He offered to set the traps/lock boxes and he put several of them in the house. I tried to get him to come back and he was on his way one time and didn't make it. The last time we called him, he sounded like that drive was too far away. Some of the traps are still here. It was like he was a different person on the phone, who promised all these things and when he got here he acted like he was in quite a hurry.

My experience overall went very well. The staff was friendly and professional. The pricing is reasonable. They did a great job and the bugs were totally gone afterwards. I would highly recommend to others.

It was fantastic. Mike, who is the owner of the company, came out and took a look at what our situation was and he handled it immediately after telling us and quoting what needs to be done. I thought he was extremely reasonable with his pricing and he is very professional. In fact, I have recommended him to many friends that have similar issues as ours. We haven't had issues since he came that one time. I feel very confident that he handled everything that we needed him to handle.

He arrived and did a visible inspection and began working. He treated everywhere needed. He returned at a later date to do a follow-up inspection and re-treated and saved our sofa!!  Things were "ALL CLEAR!" lol. The only advice I give to customers is to be a little understanding.   He seems to be a one man crew (good help is hard to find) but he does really good work. Have no reinfestation as of now. <br /> <br />

I contacted Mike, the owner of E & M Pest Management, due to the fantastic reviews we saw on Angie's List.  My husband originally spoke with him over the phone in November about some droppings I found in the kitchen, and he was able to come out later that day.  My husband showed Mike the droppings, and his assessment was that our house was "completely secure" and that those droppings were "old".  He thought a mouse had probably gotten in the house at one point and had since left.  He wasn't going to charge us for the visit, since in his words, he "didn't do anything", but my husband insisted on paying him for gas.  We gave him $20. <br /> A few weeks later, I found droppings again in the same spot in the kitchen so I called Mike again.  He was able to schedule a time to come out within a couple days.  He contacted us to ask to change our appointment time, which we did.  He arrived on time  for this rescheduled appointment.  We showed him droppings from what we assumed to be a mouse.  He was unable to find a probable point of entry into the house and felt that we did not have a "mouse problem" but rather just a mouse.  He set three poison traps in our kitchen, showed me how they worked, and addressed my concerns about safety since we have small children.  All in all, I really liked Mike.  I found him personable, professional and patient.  He said he would call me in six days to schedule a follow-up appointment to check the traps.  I paid him $95 for the traps and one month of follow-up service.  We never saw Mike again. <br /> Not only did Mike not call us to schedule the week follow-up appointment, he failed to return our calls, as well.  After returning from our holiday travel (over two weeks after our initial visit from Mike), we came home to mouse droppings in the kitchen, two downstairs closets, the upstairs laundry room, and our daughter's bedroom (also upstairs).  I called Mike again, explaining that the situation had not improved and reminding him that he had already cashed my check for services that hadn't actually been performed.  Mike did not return that call either.  We have since found the points of entry and resolved the issue, ourselves. <br /> Needless to say, we're completely dissatisfied with our experience.  We ended up paying $95 for three traps that we could have gotten at Home Depot, 4 for $5.  I can't imagine why a small business owner would so flagrantly refuse to honor a contract for service.  I had high hopes for E & M Pest Management, especially after our initial experience with Mike, but I absolutely cannot recommend this company. <br />

E&M was prompt, friendly, honest, and best of all we noticed a reduction in the critters around the house. I will be calling them again in the spring. <br />

Although I come from a family whose idea of solving a bedbug problem would probably be to burn the house down or move, I found E & M on Angie's List with good reviews and chose that road instead. From the very beginning, communication and services were cordial, professional, and aiming to please. Shortly after the initial visit, some minor touch up work appeared to be needed, and was performed without hesitation or additional charge. Although I have heard that bedbugs can be a real problem, between the Lord and E & M, every thing is back to normal, with no evidence of a continuing problem. I would recommend them for both price and service. <br />

Michael was responsive and did a good job.  In addition to the initial visit, he did come back a week later to check his work.  A week after his second visit to Mom's home, however, I found a mouse in Mom's house.  The mouse was probably already poisoned; it didn't act "right".   I called Michael and he said he would come back within a few days.  He did not come back.  However, we never saw/heard another mouse.  In the end I can say that the pest problem was resolved.  Michael was much more thorough than the other company I'd been using. <br />

Mike came out to my rental house when he was supposed to be there; right on time.  He told my painter that I did not need pest control services because the entire house was painted and that the roaches wold no longer be a problem.  I was a few minutes late and Mike explained that I don't need his services and that if it were his house, he wouldn't pay the $125 to hire him, I did not need it.  I thanked him for his honesty, but, I felt like I should hire him anyway, since I called him out to my house.  So, I told him I didn't doubt his professionalism, but, since I called him out to work, I thought it would be a good idea for my own peace of mind and just to ensure the problem was handled.  <br /> He did a thorough job of applying the control in the kitchen, paying special attention to cabinets, behind cabinets, stove, frig, etc.  He did a perimeter control on the interior, and guaranteed his work for 30 days.  It has been a week, and no signs of any roaches, living or dead.  It wasn't that bad of a problem, but, after 2 thorough applications of store bought product and still having some live roaches, I needed a solution.  Mike said my painter did the extermination job, but, why take chances?  Besides, Mike is a very friendly and honest guy and I appreciated his advice.  Thanks Mike.  Hope I don't have a need for your service, but, I have 5 houses, so when I do, I will call you. <br />

I had been having a problem with cockroaches for months. After attempting to get rid of them unsuccessfuly on my own I decided to hire a professional. My initial thought was to hire one of the big companies like terminix and orkin. I called both companies Terminix gave me a qoute of about $550 for a years worth of service with quarterly visits and Orkin qouted me about $625. So I set up the appointment with terminix not knowing any better, since I was not sure how much I should expect to pay for these services. Before the appointment I decided to check some customer feedback on terminix and it was abismal, just about every review gave them an F and the same was pretty much true fo Orkin. So I decided to check angies list for a reliable smaller company. I read the reviews for E & M and decided to give them a shot. I was impressed with the guy Mike from the very first phone conversation. He gave me a qoute for $145 with a 10% discount for finding him on angis list. This included the initial treatment, a seven day follow up and a 30 day gaurantee. I was skeptical because terminix and orkin told me I needed yearly service for cockroaches, but mike assured me that there has not been a cockroach problem he could not solve in less than 10 days. so I made the appointment and cancelled the one I had with terminix. When Mike came out the first time, he was very knowledgeable about the dynamics of cockroaches and treated my entire house. After the first treatment I saw an immediate improvement, about an 80% reduction in cockroach activity. When Mike came out for the follow up visit he put down c*** roach bait, and informed me that he was not 100% satisfied with the results of the initial treament and scheduled me for a third treatment free of charge. Mike is a very friendly and honest professional, he saved me from beng taken advantage of by the big name companies, and did a great Job. I highly recommend this company! <br />

I found them on Angie's List and they were outstanding. The person who came out was prompt and gave us a quote that was in the range we wanted. He did exactly what he said he would do and came back for a 30-day follow up for free. We definitely recommend him and probably are going to have him back here quarterly for a maintenance dosage. The quality was very effective and he came right when he said he would; did the job and was gone. He came back by appointment and was right on time.

I contacted this company after business hours on Saturday evening Sept 8 in dire need of pest extermination in our basement and garage for what appeared to be an inch worm infestation after an exceptionally heavy rain followed by a few exceptionally hot days directly thereafter.  I left a voicemail message and was contacted (by the owner himself) within an hour.  <br /> After explaining the problem to him over the phone, he scheduled an inspection for 'early' the following day (Sunday - 8am) and was ON TIME!!   Upon arrival, he quickly did an inspection of the problem areas in the interior and exterior of the house and provided me with a reasonable quote.  <br /> I accepted his quote and he began work immediately and was done fairly quickly.  Very nice man and quite personable.  I also want to note that he was exceptionally knowledgeable about pest extermination and offered a 30-day guarantee on his work.  I felt very comfortable having him work in my home and not only will I utilize him again if the need arises, but I have given his contact details to a number of my co-workers who have homes in the vicinity similar to our family home. <br /> This one's a WINNER!! <br />

Mike has been out to my home on two occasions.  He is friendly, provides excellent service (no more man-eating spiders in the basement), and we will be using him again!  The only criticism I have is that on his second visit, we originally scheduled for the Saturday of a holiday weekend and he left town, forgetting that we had booked the appointment.  He called me afterwards, apologized profusely, and performed his services free of charge when we rescheduled.

Mike came out to Berwyn to help with some concerns our tenants had.  He arrived right on time.  He was not only prompt, but also informative, as he was able to effectively address all of our tenants' concerns.  Thanks Mike!

It went well.  Saw some wasps fly into the siding on a Friday and heard a lot of noise inside.  Thought there was a lot of them inside and was a large infestation of wasps.  Mike came out on Monday and sprayed and told us that it probably was just a couple of them working on building a nest and the siding echoes.  He said that only one wasp flew out when he sprayed, and that if it was a large infestation that about a dozen would have come out.  He told us that this powder spray now will prevent any more from returning to the house.  We were pleased with this assessment and treatment.

Mike was very responsive, prompt, and professional throughout. Hopefully we won't need this service again, but if we do we will call E&M immediately!

I saw a mouse a few nights ago in our house.  I tracked it to it's hiding spot but couldn't find it.  I immediately checked Angie's List and read the reviews of Terminix and other companies.  I read about how people who had bad experiences ended up turning to Mike at E &M Pest Management.  I called Mike on Thursday and he was here Saturday.  He was great.  He is very intelligent and shared his knowledge with me.  He also sprayed for bugs and spiders while he was here.  I will report back WHEN our mouse is gone.  Thanks Mike.

The building had both bedbugs AND mice! Mr. Bohlen came over promptly. He went over and above what was expected by talking to the tenants and getting their cooperation. His ability to deal with people was superb. Also, he got the job done as regards the pests! He was not as expensive as some of the others, either. I was very satisfied with his service, which turned a pretty bad situation into no big deal. (Though I am not currently a list member, I got his name originally from Angie's List when I was a member.)

On time, removed the nest, great service! Let me know to stay out of the backyard until all the bees that were part of that nest had returned, because they would be irritated and likely to sting.

As the weather warmed up we noticed that in our new house (new to us, old house from the 1890's) ants were everywhere behind the ktichen sink.  Our kitchen is pretty clean and had no idea where the ants were coming from.  Tried the vinegar and water solution that I found online and it would work for a bit and then more ants.  I called E & M and another company at 7am.  The other company I left a voicemal message.  E & M answered the phone right away.  I got the owner, he was very professional, and we scheduled an appointment for Saturday.  On Saturday before the appointment at 1:30pm, he called and said they had a cancellation and if it is okay for him to come at 11am.  That actually worked better for us, so I told him that was fine.  He came in, explained in detail what he was going to do.  He got to work, did not take much time.  He said we still may see an ants because they are taking what he sprayed back to their nest.  Did not see any the rest of the day.  Then on Monday saw one ant on the counter and that ant looked like it was crawling around drunk.  (I guess that is the cause of what was sprayed, and that is the only ant I saw).  He said if after the next Wednesday, we see any ants he will come back and retreat for free.  The only downside and a minor one, we wanted to pay w/credit card but he did not have is credit card square that attaches to his phone.  We would absolutely use E & M again.

They do a good job.  I would recommend them. They called me back promptly.  He set up a time immediately because I wanted the bugs out of my house.  He did a really inspection.  He was on time.  He got the job done and gave me a good warrenty. I was happy with his work.
