Estelle's Cleaning

Excellent. We hired them to come back again. Then we hired them to do a monthly cleaning.

We had had just lost our previous maid service and where looking for a replacement. Estelle's cleaning looked like it would be right up our alley from a price point and having a fairly comprehensive checklist, complete with rotating periodic cleaning.    We had planned on a once every other week cleaning but after the first cleaning we decided it was not worth it.  Before our initial cleaning our house was in no means a disaster, it just need what a regular cleaning should cover (the ladies that came out even said your place is in pretty good shape for what they normally see). The good part is the service checked all the boxes for what needed to be cleaned.  The bad part was what constituted a check mark for being clean was far shorter on quality then we expected. On a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being a quick wipe down and 10 being a very deep clean, the quality of clean was like a 2 or maybe a 3 in spots. As an example; the kitchen counters would be free of crumbs after cleaning but not free of non-permanent coffee stains or crusted up gunk that didn't come up with a single wipe, the floors would be quickly vacuumed getting up larger debris but would still have dirt that could be vacuumed up if they spent a little more time on it. We found service to be very rushed, I know people work at different speeds but you can only accomplish so much when you spend 5 minutes on a bathroom.  We where looking for a deeper cleaning then Estelle's Cleaning provided so we decided not to keep regular service. <br />

Excellent!  This is the second time we have hired Estelle for cleaning our home and will continue to do so.  Bathrooms and showers are immaculate, she cleaned areas routinely skipped regularly which we really like! <br />

Got a coupon for maid services as they serviced the Yorktown/Newport News area. I had been debating getting a cleaning service for a couple of years - it always seemed as if I could do it all myself. <br /> Estelle answered in the first ring, then called me with a confirmation for the next day - although she didn't give me a specific time. <br /> The cleaning crew (of 2) showed up and went straight to work after a few basic preliminaries. <br /> When my husband walked in after work a few minutes after Estelle left his first reaction was: WOW - you've been busy today. <br /> My house just sparkled! Seriously - it somehow looked brighter and whiter; my living room was organized and the whole place just smelled better. <br /> I've scheduled them to return, so will follow up my review with the results. <br /> For the record: I fessed up and let my husband know I used a cleaning service - and he was still impressed. <br /> <br />

The women that came out were very nice. They did an okay job. It was sort of average; it wasn't bad or great. I didn't use them again but I might in the future because they were not bad. I talked to her about it. It was two different people and had it been her, I think it would have been better. She seemed more enthused about her job. The other two just seemed like they were there and didn't take any pride in their work. She seemed like she did.

I think they were wonderful. I have been using them for several years. I would recommend them.
