EXCALIBUR ROOFING SERVICES, INC.

To start, the requirement to strictly adhere to all manufacturers' specifications and building codes for this re-roofing job was stringent, for I monitored the crew's work from start to finish. Tear-Off: After two weeks delay, the actual work started with SW Roof TearOff removing the old shingles. A little bump here, as there were a lot of old nails sticking out of the roof deck, pieces of tar paper still stuck to the deck, a cracked fascia board (which they quickly blamed the old wood) and a broken vent pipe after they're done. Bad wood replacement: Decent work by Excalibur Roofing crew, but definitely no precision carpentry, because of the crew did not possess precision equipment. Roof shingles installation: New underlayment / peel-n-stick installation was acceptable, again under my supervision. Some sections of the Drip-edge installation had to be re-worked. I had to request careful staging of the shingle rows, as the crew did not initially take into account the out-of-square characteristics of each roof section. The nailing of shingles was just acceptable, as I had the crew remove quite a few nails that were either shot-crooked or too deep into the shingle; in this respect, the crew, although experienced, was rushing the shingle-nailing job with less than perfect nail guns. The installed vents were about 0.75 in. off the pre-cut holes in the plywood; again, something that could have been prevented with a little extra time and care. The trimming of shingles along the rakes was sloppy; the 0.25 in. shingle overhang was in itself a challenge, and yet, the crew had to resort to scissors because of dull cutting blades! The same thing happened to the trimming of the shingles along the valley lines. The crew was very cooperative, but Erik never showed up during any stage of the installation (I guess he was counting on me to take his place). In the end, the finished roof looks pretty good from far away and has been watertight for two years; the actual price paid to Excalibur Roofing Services, Inc was somewhat high, when taking into account the time I had to spend checking each stage of the project. December 2018 Update: I discovered that a Decoridge cap came loose at the eave’s end of the hip ridge, hanging with just one nail (the other nail was shot-crooked and never penetrated the plywood). I then called Excalibur Roofing Services, Inc to request warranty service, only to be told by Mike that the company is currently out-of-business. It does look like this company’s 10-year workmanship warranty for my roof is down the drain; so, I ended up re-nailing the loose cap and seal it myself.

5 star reviewed company that is no more. Out of business and my understanding is that warranty work is not being transferred or honored. Installed PliDeck system and drains now appear to be leaking at evident in the last rain (1/9/2017). Everything went well with the job, but that just go to show. You never know what's going on behind the hype.

Worker's were excellent. On time, cleaned up after themselves. Were gentlemanly well mannered, quiet & considerate. Took several bids- Highest was $25,000.00 - $15,000, $10,000. Excaliber was lowest but did a complicated excellent job. We could not be happier.

The overall project quality and workmanship as well as the coordination between the roofing and solar contractors was great.

I had a small roof leak. I got a few estimates, Excaliber was the lowest although they had a disclaimer that the bill could be higher if they found wood rot. They did find a small amount and there was a small extra charge but I think it was fair. I would definitely use them again after some bad past experiences with roofers, it's nice to find an honest and professional company.

Took the time necessary to make sure everything was done properly with excellence. Called me to ask what I wanted done when there were areas that could be replaced or left as is. When a company goes the extra mile to give the customer the power of the decisions by showing the customer the areas in question and asking for a final decision, you want to deal with that company again and again and have no desire to use anyone else.

The job was quoted with pictures diagramming the job, and the work was done quickly and professionally.  I'm very pleased with the appearance and outcome.

Erik came out and described the project and what they would take care of and also talked to me about roofing material and the quality of material they would use.  He came out again with roofing samples so I could pick the one that would match my HOA requirements.  His crew completed the work on schedule and did a wonderful job on the roof as well as a great job on cleanup.  I highly recommend Excalibur Roofing. <br />

They were thorough and very neat. They are excellent roofers.

Called Excalibur and a gentlemen came to inspect the damage. After about 1 1/2 hours' inspection, I was given the assessment of damage and costs to repair and replace damaged areas. We set an appointment and they came at the determined time. The crew worked all day to replace and repair areas on roof, as was written in the inspection report. All work was done in a timely fashion and they cleaned up after their work. Excalibur is a great company to work with and I feel very confident recommending them for any roof repair work. <br />

They were prompt, professional, and reasonably priced.  Arrived and finished as scheduled.  Now 2 1/2 years later, I am still very pleased with the results. <br />

Excaliber is the BEST.  Very professional.  Always punctual, professional, cleaned up after each phase.   Would recommend them to anyone needing a new or replacement roof. <br />

Again, the work was done on time, and very professionally. An Excalibur employee guided me in selecting the new tiles. The old roof was removed in one day. The crew from Excalibur was very meticulous about every aspect, from wood repairs all the way through to cleanup. They installed two layers of 40# paper and a ridge vent which will help to cool the attic. Even the cement used between the ridge tiles was dyed to match the tiles.  The roof looks beautiful, and the five new e-glass skylights are wonderful. It was a real pleasure to work with Erik Holloway, the owner, and his crew of roofers. <br />

Before we started, the deck looked pretty bad. The concern was the unknown conditions underneath.   After opening it up it was clear that no one should have been walking on the deck. There was a danger of falling through in one location.  <br /> Eric had a good approach to just put new rafters alongside vs pulling the old ones and possibly damaging the roof that was supported under the rafters.  <br /> The deck looks great and is now safe and waterproof. I couldn't be happier. You don't come by these people skills by accident. <br /> I would highly recommend Eric and his crew <br />

We were very pleased with Erik, the owner, and Excalibur Roofing. From the very first phone call to the last day of the project, Erik and his crew were very professional and customer satisfaction oriented. This project took six days to complete. The roofing crew were prompt and worked hard, and at the end of each day cleaned up thoroughly. Erik would call his work crew daily, and come to check the progress and quality of the  work being completed every other day. He was also available to us daily by phone, email, and text messaging. Each day of the project, the work crew had a plan and worked methodically. They were very thorough in each day's labor. The final outcome is impressive. Our front porch and  new roof(s) are beautiful. We highly recommend Excalibur Roofing. <br /> <br />

This is at least the third time I've used this company.  Every time I've been extremely satisfied.  They have always done more work than I expected.  I have recommended them to friends and they were always very satisfied. <br />

Absoutely awesome!!!  Provided way more service that any of the other 3 bids I'd gotten. <br />
