Roof To Deck put in 6 new boards and stained my deck. The stain did not hold and they came back twice at that time to try and cover it. This spring, after less than 2 years, all the stain has disappeared form the new boards they replaced and other areas are peeling. I called the number on their marketing materials and was told to send pictures, which I did. They never responded. I then called the corporate number in Minnesota and was called back by the owner. He told me that they closed the local office because "they weren't making any money". I can understand why! He gave me the name of several local contractors who I could call and I could pay for the work to be corrected/ performed. I called again today and was told by a lady that there was nothing they could do as their local office has closed. It seems like a lost cause but I did learn a few things: They do not stand behind their 2 year written warranty even though the home office is still functioning; I'll try to do business with local people with a local home office; You don't mean much if there won't be additional business forthcoming.
They have a great customer service. They are always prompt. The price is reasonable. When they schedule they always call you everyday to say this is what we completed today and we will back tomorrow to do this part and this part. It was a three day job they were here for and they kept us informed each and everyday. Everyday I got a call at 5 or 6 o'clock in the afternoon to let me know of the progress. On the last day, it either had actually rained and some of the work that they had done kind of got washed away. I called them up, there was no hassle, they came right back out, they said yes this is not up to the way it should be and gave a date to come right back out and redo the work. It was completely a great experience, as it has been in the past with them as well.

I had Roof-to-Deck Restorations clean and stain my wooden deck this spring. I have used them previously and have always been happy with the results. The work is excellent and they have never left a mess. They are very easy to work with as all I have to do is clear the deck of all furniture and send them a check. They do all the rest and I dont have to be home when the work is done. They performed the service in two sessions. One to clean the deck and one to stain it. They have to schedule around weather so the two sessions were about two weeks apart. When they were done they left a bottle of extra stain to remedy tough spots but I have never needed to use it. Overall they perform a good service for reasonable cost. I will use them again.
Sales presentation was professional. Price was an issue based on what we wanted completed. They were willing to work with me on the amount. Called to let me know when they were installing. Two individuals showed up and were professional. As of this writing the lights are still up so can not comment about removal.
I wasn’t too pleased with the service. They cleaned the roof. Instead of spraying something onto it to clean they used a power washer and left a mess behind on the back of the house. They knocked off the pebbles that were on the roofing squares and they are still coming down the gutters. I have had to clean off my patio deck and the furniture from the pebbles.

Everything was great. I thought the installers were very friendly. They were on time and worked very hard. I have signed a 3 year contract for them to complete the work in the future.

They are true to what they say they can do and are here when they say they will be. They do very neat work and their product is as good as they claim it is. I have never been happier with anyone doing my deck. My deck gets a lot of traffic and I have had them strip and redo it twice. Each time the deck came out perfect and I am very pleased. Their treatment lasts; that's why I use them every two years.
I have used them before and they are always prompt and do a good job. They came out in the morning and did part of the job and then had to wait for the decks to warm up and had another team come out to make sure the best possible temperature was available to stain the deck. I have used them to clean my gutters and remove ice dams in the past and they always do an excellent job.

It turned out really well. There was a small communication error but they fixed it.

He was very careful to tell us about the appearance of the shingles and to wait, after the treatment, until they "season" with weather....then they will return to their original color. He came one day and started and then it began to rain so he quit and came back the next morning (without my having to pester them about their return). The gentleman who worked on our roof was VERY nice and VERY knowledgeable about roofs. It took several visits to our home to complete the job and he took responsibility for completing it.
They were very professional. No issues with the work. My deck looks good. Overall went well. The stain coloring in their brochure is a little darker than the actual application.

They seemed to have done a good job. They seemed to be very professional and that is why we picked them. The work is just done so it will take a while to comment on it.

I made the mistake of hiring Roof- to- Deck a few years ago because they used "as seen on Angie's List" as a marketing tool. Of course, this was long before I joined and found out they are definitely on A.L., but they have their share of bad ratings as well!
I had built a large deck with a large overhead pergola and, after about 6-7 months, I hired R to D to do the first staining. The first guy they sent out to clean the deck did a really lousy job and left it streaked. They did send out another guy to clean it properly. (I found out later the1st guy had quit).

Several days later, they started staining the pergola without any tarps to protect the deck. This, of course, created drip marks and dark stripes all over the deck. I called their attention to this, but they kept telling me that when they stained the deck it would all blend together. (yeh, right!) Well, of course, all the drip marks became even darker when they stained the deck. It looked terrible. I called the manager and sent pictures. He came out, took a look at it and agreed it was a terrible job and said it would be redone.

He sent a "more experienced" guy to clean and restain it this next time around. By this time, my beautiful new deck was already starting to look pretty beat up after 3 power washings (the grain was open and wood fibers were everywhere). I felt that it should have been sanded before restaining again, but my request fell on deaf ears. So, it was powerwashed and stained/sealed again.

After the job was completed, it rained a few days later and the stain started washing off immediately and wood fibers covered the entire deck. It was obvious the sealer had soaked into the wood, but the stain had not. (It basically was just laying on top) You could actually sweep the stain off with a broom! Walking across it just a couple of times created a traffic pattern. It was a blotchy, unsightly mess! I was embarassed to have company come over and see this disaster.

I was fed up at this point and I decided I didn't want them touching my deck again.

The manager of this branch of Roof- to- Deck did attempt to stand behind the work, but unfortunately, his employees did not feel the same way. I was told there is a constant turnover (I found out two quit during my fiasco), so there not only is a lack of experience, but a lack of quality and pride in their work...and it definitely shows. The customer service is great, but the work is not.

I have been reluctant to have anyone else come out to stain and reseal my deck after this terrible experience. But, after recently joining Angie's List, I think I have found another deck service (highly recommended on A.L.) to repair all the damage Roof- to- Deck did. I will review the new deck service after the job is done.

This is the second time I have used Roof-to-Deck services for my deck maintenance and I am complete satisfied with their work. They notified me via phone prior to each appointment - power wash and subsequent stain/sealing.

They stain that they used was not that great. It was below my expectations. There were some splinters and nails sticking out when they came to do the work and I wish they would have taken care of that.
