They came out to the house to review the scope of the job, and then never got back to us. I called and emailed at least six times, and finally I got a refund.

Very poorly. The price was good (it was an Angie's Big Deal) and the guy arrived on time. Other than that it was a bust. The design as submitted had almost none of the features that my wife told him were necessary. It looked as if he had a canned design that he was trying to sell. It was clearly not a custom design based on our situation. We discarded his submission about 10 minutes after receiving it.
We weren’t happy with them because we weren’t happy with what we got for $75. We just felt rushed. The design that they gave us was something that we could have done ourselves. We felt that it wasn’t quality work so we didn’t go with them for our kitchen work. It wasn’t a good experience. The guy that came was fine. But what he was showing wasn’t well worth the money we spent. It was a waste of money. Responsiveness was fine. They came when they said they would. It took a while for them to get the report to us.

It started the first day when the contractors came and they didn't know we had concrete walls even when Lawrence Labonte came over looked at the huge hole in the wall exposing the concrete . then he took a video of the bathroom, so nothing was hiding. The first day of work the broke my special order wall hung $700 toilet. They GLUED it back together never replaced it!They worked good for a wk thenThe project stalled due to workers vacations, the hired another tile man and didnt check on him after we repeatedly expressed concerns about him.His work was horrible. they finally checked on him and then fired him. they had to pull all the tile down. when they did they dropped a tile and chipped the new tub. the project didnt resume for wks because larry ran out of money! He didnt pay his contractors. We had to do all the running around and use our money to buy everything. they came back for a wk off and on.inally the job did get done except for the window they were supposed to put in and they left us with a broken toilet .They never at the end asked us if we were happy or if there were any issues. Never saw larry for the last 3wks.I have to admit the bathroom looks ok considering we thought they would never come back and finish it but wasnt worth the 68days of H***!
They were supposed to start work on Monday but Larry (owner) called to tell me his guys couldn't make it until Tuesday. They pulled up on Tuesday and were only here for a half hour. I called Larry and explained that now we were 2 days behind and he said he would be able to make up 1 day. He told me his guys would be there Wednesday morning at 8am. They never showed up so I called Larry and told him I was concerned that this would be an issue throughout the project and I asked for my $1,500.00 deposit back. I waited a week and still didn’t get my check back so I called him and he said they had to return the materials they already purchased. I still have yet to receive my money and he is now unresponsive to any of my contact. I am very disappointed in this company for not refunding my money when the work wasn’t even started.

Lawrence came out to discuss the project and told us they were able to do the jobs quickly and inexpensively because they had so much experience in replacing baths and kitchens in conversion projects. Additionally, they expect the client to choose all their items from one local source and they have it picked up and delivered all at one time before the crew arrives so that there is nothing to waste time once they start. He would finish in 3-4 days because he knew how much of an intrusion having people doing messy work in your home is. I would be contacted by a woman who coordinates the projects for further questions the next day. He also said they were overwhelmed with business and had priced the deal too low so I offered to let them put it off until business was slower and that was declined.
I was not contacted and reached out to them again in a few days. The woman who was to be the contact had not yet started with the company. She never did serve as a coordinator/contact on my project. The start date was scheduled and I sent Lawrence a list of my chosen fixtures and purchased/picked up those that were not available at Home Depot.
I received a text on the Monday they were to begin that their 'best guy' was unavailable so it would be put off until Tuesday. On Tuesday their 'best guy' turned out to be their only guy - a crew of one - who was a handyman in my neighborhood. I am sure they had never worked together before. Nice guy but the demo alone went on into the second week. It was very messy, took over the room next to it, made a hole in the ceiling below, didn't put up plastic or close doors to contain dust and showed no sign of ending anytime soon.
I complained that he was working very short days (I work p/t and he was always gone before I got home) so little was accomplished and that things were getting damaged, Lawrence said he'd gather a new crew and replace him. The two guys he sent did work faster but were slowed several times by not having the materials on hand to keep going.
Three weeks and the job finally was done. I won't say completed but I was done dealing with it and will fix what I can. The 1.5' hole in the ceiling downstairs, the scratches and chips in the new tub, the damaged door frame moulding, the bent baseboard heater with its now missing door, the sloppy paint job, etc.
Subcontractors were having problems with getting paid or the arrangements that were made with them. I am not clear how this was set up but it did spill over onto my experience with them. Both were about to walk off the job citing payment issues. Also, part of the problem originates from their not knowing all the details of what was promised up front by Lawrence. The first guy didn't know there was to be a floating vanity or glass tiles, for example and didn't seem qualified to deal with that. The second guys weren't informed of the problems the first guy had left behind - the hole, the scratches, etc. so didn't figure that into their time or budget. I asked why the stuff wasn't ordered and delivered all at once as planned and was told there wasn't room to do that. But that doesn't ring true since we were never asked and we have 3 floors, a garage, and a large backyard deck. All in all, it made for an unpleasant 3+ weeks and I am glad it is over.
On the 24th he came out and took pictures and measured my kitchen for the remodeling project. I have reached out to the service provider with emails and phone calls. I have not heard back from the service provider or received my design.

After three promised start dates, work began, but the subcontractor left after a few days, telling us he had not been paid. Plumbing work did a great deal of damage to walls and ceilings of adjoining rooms. (Large sections of wallboard cut out). I constantly asked for communication from this company and always had to pursue them for information. A second subcontractor left after telling us they had not been paid. Every morning we wonder if someone is going to show up to work, and for how long. This is the only full bathroom in our house. After 19 days we have a half-done bathroom, a sub-par unfinished plumbing job, serious damage done to walls and ceilings in three adjoining rooms, and garbage in our driveway. The owner/project manager(?) Lawrence evidently does not want to meet with us and does not tell us what is happening. We have asked Angie's List for a refund, and sent them a full transcript of all emails with this company.

I upgraded a purchase that I made. The bathroom remodel was good. They were supposed to come and take a picture of the work, but they never called or showed up. I was supposed to get some of the money back for the work but have yet to. When they first came over they had two guys tearing out the tile and they made a hole in other bedroom where plaster came out that have repaired.

The man was supposed to be here on the 15th, didn?t show and didn?t call. I contacted him that evening and he said that his daughter broke her arm. He said that he would come the following day, he showed up late with no apologies. He said that he would give me a design within a week to 10 days. I called him two and a half weeks later asking where the design was. They said the design was in process and that they would send it out to me. The design for the bathroom was supposed to include a shower and no tub. What they sent me was a generic design adding a tub with no shower. I emailed him about this, he said he would email me a new design and he never did. I requested a refund from the service provider. He sent me a check in the mail which bounced. I now have a NSF fee for that check and no refund.

11/20/12
I spoke with Henry Kaminski 2 weeks ago by telephone. He told me he would have someone come to my house and leave an $87 dollar money order ($75 + $12 returned check fee) in my mailbox. I have left several messages since that phone conversation on his voicemail and one with his answering service to call me since no refund was ever dropped off.

Original contact was for bathroom remodel, with their 5k package.
They sent a list of allowances and agreed to pay difference.
On day 1 that he was supposed to show up, he sent an email after 10am stating he would not come today, but would rather come Tuesday to complete the job straight since tiles were coming in on Wed.
On Tuesday he showed up late, got the check and left. A worker came by after (Elliot) and started demo.
Time frame was 4 business day. Actual job is over 3 weeks now, and incomplete.
Most days where no shows, and when I asked employee why, he stated company did not buy any materials for him to work
He has not paid his employee and I have already paid the balance. They are not answering questions, phone calls, left garbage still at my house and the job is incomplete. Construction guy is angry, threatening to sue me and put lien on my house.
I have nothing to do with any of this. Absolute horrible experience.... This is still ongoing
"We bent over backwards to help this member and meet their timeline as they had additional family moving in the home and wanted the bath re-done immediately. I had another client agree to be postoned so that i could help this member. When we started the work Mr. Sahibdin insisted that we do extra work for little or no additional cost-and is outside of our standard bathroom package, which is how we measure how to stock the job with material when we start, and why we were intially short. The additional work he insisted on was tiling the ENTIRE bathroom all walls-floor to ceiling, (we cover for up to100sf), replacing the entire ceiling with new sheetrock, adding new electric supply to the ceiling and installing a bathroom fan that did not exist before and hard pipe venting it to the exterior of the home. We performed all this work for the client. The day we were wrapping up the job I asked for final payment and was told that the client was traveling and could not be reached I then emailed him and did not get a response until the following day whereby i was notified to contact the clients father to be paid by credit card......get the picture here? My employees and subs always get paid in a timely manner and at the end of the project I rely on the client's complete satisfaction before issuing final payments. That has been hard to do in this case but i am sure this be resolved to everyones satisfaction very shortly."

I have been planning renovation of my kitchen for several weeks and was postponing it due to the planning and design challenges. I had EDC and some other contractors in to evaluate the project. EDC was the most responsive with a competitive estimate. They laid out the choices with simple, realistic, and definitive options and I am selecting them to do the work. Compared to other contractors, they were very quick and clear, had access to local suppliers, and had less of the scheduling and cost uncertainties of other proposals. I'll update their performance once the job is completed, but so far have been very impressed.

I only had the design work done and am know trying to figure how much to spend on cabinets-so they did not do any work yet, but I was surprised at how quickly they turn around the design package and followed up with an email and phone call. He said his supplier is having a special promotion on Inset Cabinetry so I may just wait for that because b/c I have always wanted a custom kitchen. They seem to have a lot of resources and to be very knowledgeable about many things.
Response from Express Design & Construction LLC
"We are glad this member waited b/c we were able to pass along a $1600 discount against the original estimate this month."

they designed and built a master bath and kitchen for a home I was selling. THe house sold in part due to the quality of their work and the positive first impressions. A friend referred us to express, they came over the next day and within a week we had a full set of plants. After checking their references we decided to hire them. We were impressed and recommend them
Response from Express Design & Construction LLC
"This was a great project for us and we welcomed and worked with the member very closely in completing their project to their exact specifications. It always wasn't a flawless process but because we commmunicated on a daily basis when ever an issue did arise it was discussed and decisions were made immediately. we finished on time and on budget."

Very well. We learned of them from a friend who they had done some work for. They designed a very nice kitchen on paper and once we hired them they built a kitchen which looked just like the design they had submitted. They were tidy, on time and on budget. We are very pleased with the end product. I would hire them again for another project.
Response from Express Design & Construction LLC
"The stars were alignerd on this one. Everything just went really good for all involved. I do need to correct the member's comment b/c we actually finished one day ahead of schedule."
