We’ve used them a few times now and we had a deck put on last year. We had some issues with the company but overall they did an ok job. It wasn’t great but they just never came back. They have a sales rep and he came over a couple times. They fixed some of the things they did wrong but there thing is to hold back 5% of their money for 30 days to make sure everything is the way that you like. I did that. I found there were things they didn’t do right. The guy who did sales said he could fix the issues I had himself within an hour. I said ok. I mentioned there were a couple stairs on the deck that needed replaced as they were falling off. He texted me back, “Ok” and I never heard from him. I held back $500 of the $10,000.00 dollar job and they would not come out. I asked the owner several times to come out and fix these issues for me but he refused to come out. He explained that he appreciates my business but he leaves the work to his sales rep. They had to come back and redo a whole bunch of stuff because they messed it up in the first place. They re-did the whole back of our house where the doorway is. It was an enclosed porch but we took it off for the deck. Instead of putting the siding back the right way, they left all sorts of little pieces. When you go up the stairs you can see these pieces. They said they could fix that within an hour. I said as soon as you do this and replace the stairs, I will pay the $500. They said ok but never came back. The deck came out nice. He was very particular in how he did it and he had his son helping him as well. You can see now how he wasn’t doing things correctly as now some of the wood has popped up. He was a nice guy and I didn’t mind that his son was helping him. I just wanted the job done right. I wasn’t happy with them fixing things that shouldn’t have had to be fixed in the first place. He showed me a gutter guard. When they did them, they now go up in an angle and it looks horrible. I explained that wasn’t what I had agreed to and they fixed it. They took them off and put on what I wanted them too. They put a downspout on my garage and it stuck out like a sore thumb. I told them to move that to the back of the garage. I had a brand new garage roof. When they were cleaning out their truck, I saw some red shingles and I said, are those from my home? He said they were from another job. They were using the left over shingles from another on my garage roof and they were not even the right color. I made them rip them off and put the matching color back on. I had told them not to put those shingles on my roof in the first place but they still did it. I found that to be very unprofessional. We have upper gutters and lower gutters. The downspouts coming from the upper gutters are supposed to have another gutter that drains them into the lower gutter as opposed to having the overflow shoot up in the air. I pointed it out to them as it was supposed to run into the gutter and it was flowing over the gutter. He explained that I had told them to do it that way. There was no way I had told them to do it wrong. They ended up fixing it and fixed everything else they were supposed to and then they left. I asked them to come and fix my stairs and the siding and then they never came back. I wouldn’t use them again because when you have your sales rep doing everything and the owner doesn’t help, that’s not professional. I only wanted him to come and see what his team had done to my home and he was not very receptive to that idea. He would not come out no matter what. If you are looking to deal with the owner face to face, do not count on it as he has a sales rep that will come out in his place.

I bought the coupon last season and wanted them to come after the leaves had fallen but before the first snow. <br /> They managed to squeeze me in right before the snow came. The timing was perfect. <br /> They come to your house, get on the roof and get it clean, no fuss, no hassle. <br /> I saw some people complain about some leaves left on the ground - in my mind for them to come out and perform this work for this cost they're going to have to move quickly to have it still make sense for them financially. It really wasn't bad. <br /> <br />

My experience was good. They came when they said they would. Scheduling was good and came within a responable time period. They were able to come and do the work when I was not there.

They clean the gutters but they dropped the leaves along the side of the building.  I wouldn't mind it that much but, to drop the leaves and dirt in front of my garage didn't look good at all.  I had the job done before for someelse and if I hadn't been there I would say they didn't do the job.  Leaves and other kinds od debris were deposited into a bucket.  I never saw any leaves or dirt around the building.   With Exterior Home Services, I knew right away that they were there.  Leaves, twigs and dirt were around the house and in front of my garage.  What a shock!!!! <br />

It turned out wonderful. They were quick. They were doing the job and I didn't even know they were here. Everything was fine. They did the job and left. Everything was terrific.

The gutters were not cleaned when originally promised, and I had to call them because it had snowed, and I was worried that leaves in the gutters would freeze before they got here to do the job. The Saturday they came I was having a family party, so it was poor timing for me.Yet,  I was glad to have it done. I shouldn't have had to call them - t didn't go as smoothly as I would have liked. By the way, the company said that they would also conduct an inspection while they were here, and the written report I received indicated that I would need a new roof soon. I had a new 50 year roof put on about 10 years ago, so I don't think they inspected anything.  <br />

Communication was a little bit confusing because we were on vacation right after booking the service, and looks like they were trying to communicate with us via Angie's List and we weren't plugged into that, so they wound up doing the service while we were away, but I think that's an issue with Angie's List, not the vendor. But bottom-line was they showed up promptly and did the service with no effort on our part, and we arrived home to clean gutters and one less thing to worry about. I would happily use them again this year. Would like to see Angie's List set up to better facilitate direct communication in the future. <br />

As advertised cleaned gutters and inspected roof at a very good price.

They completed everything. They had to come back a couple of times because of the frozen gutters but everything worked out great. It was done after the Holidays because the weather got so cold and it was hard to clean the gutters. You cannot do it when they are iced up and I completely understand that you cannot control the weather. They did a great job and I appreciated it. There was no additional cost for the service but they banged the gutters and stuff to try to break up the ice and you are not supposed to do that. They were very professional and courteous but there was a lot of banging going on the first time that they came and they were delayed in responding and I put the request right away when I purchased the deal.

It was very good and they performed the service in a timely manner.  The crew was very courteous as well.

When we moved into our house, the roof needed to be replaced immediately.  We did some research and went to a Home Show in Hartford and met Brian.  He seemed professional and knowledgeable.  Initially, he was very responsive and came to the house at a scheduled time to look and give us an estimate.  He guaranteed the best price and that he would beat any competitors.  We had another estimate at the time and he did indeed beat the estimate...by $100.  They told us the job would take between 1-2 days to complete...it ended up taking a week...with a crew of 6-7!!   <br /> The crew did not do a good job a cleaning up at all.  When they replaced the skylight, they didn't even have the courtesy to tell us to cover the kitchen floor and dirt and leaves were falling into the house all over the place.  There were shingles and nails left on our lawn and in the driveway.  More recently we had an energy assessor come and was in our attic and there were shingles all over the insulation in the attic that they had left.   <br /> The worst part about the whole job is how they left the drip edge on the roof.  Our friend, who is a contractor, was on the roof one day and noticed that the drip edge did not meet the siding so there was a gap so water would could just seep into the plywood.  We called Brian about this and he said he was not accountable for siding issues.  He came back and looked at it and said he could put a metal sheet in between or replaced the whole drip edge which would be another $400!  This was before Christmas and needless to say...we probably won't be having them come back to even correct this, we will hire someone else.  Their communication and punctuality is HORRIBLE which is extremely unprofessional.  Interestingly, when we first found them on Angie's List, they had an A rating...in the 2 months  their ratings have dropped to Cs and Fs!   <br /> Now we know why he is willing to cut the price...you get what you pay for! <br /> <br /> <br />

In the past, people that did the job collected the leaves in a bucket.  Debris was found everywhere around the building including the driveway.  I wasn't happy with the debris found around the property. <br />

They guys did such a great job. I've had so many complements on my roof since its been done. The guys were so helpful, even called to tell me my dog busted out the window and put a board up to block it and put the window back in when they were done! Would definitely recommend them to anyone!! <br />

Arrived on time and worked steadily.  Fulfilled all terms of our agreement.  Promptly removed old shingles and installed new ones.  At no additional charge removed old attic fan and mounted new one that I had bought elsewhere.  Weather was windy & cold causing some small plastic packaging materials and old shingle pieces to blow around the yard and escape their cleanup efforts.  Everything else, including all nails, were thoroughly removed.   <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Exterior subbed-out the new gutter installation to a gutter specialist, who was less prompt in arriving, but did a decent job.  During heavy rains we noticed water running behind some of the gutters and Exterior immediately sent someone to correct it under warranty.  <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> They offered excellent payment terms. <br />

This company is very good in all respects. The owner, Brian, personally visited and spoke about the guarantees and quality. Their product is top of the line architectural shingles. E-Mail communication is very responsive. Job was done on the specified day, the crew of 4 or 5 was very efficient and finished within 6 hours. Follow-up was good regarding reciept and guarantee info. Tip: Take advantage of they're "we'll beat other prices" guarantee. They did this for me. <br />

The roofing job went well considering the circumstances. They started in the third week of January and had one decent day before it turned bitter cold. A job that I was told by the salesman would be three days turned into six working days. The crew was great though. They kept a clean work site and kept working steadily despite the unfavorable weather conditions. Another plus in their favor is that in course of a week I never heard any profanity which amazed me. The one downside to working with Exterior Home Services was that promised start dates were not met, and communication was something I had to seek rather than it coming from the company. This may be standard operating procedure in the trades but as I rarely hire out to have work done I somehow expected better lines of communication. <br /> Even though I never did go up on the roof from what I could see the crew did good work, flashing was applied with care, ice and water dam installed everywhere where they should be as well as the porch edges where I wouldn't have bothered. <br /> Certainly would hire them again especially as I own another house that will need a roof soon. <br />

They were great and I was very pleased with them. The clean up was wonderful in the whole nine yards. They were very good. Actually, I think I am making gutters and I am going to call them back again. They were such an angel. Everybody had to make their own decisions but I was very pleased and I am pain in the neck. I would use them again in the future.
