After numerous chances to redeem himself, Mike has blown a good score by ignoring phone calls and texts, missing appointments, neglecting to supply any paperwork or warranty information, or to follow up on a faulty window.
Work was started on date and time agreed between contractor and us. The work areas were kept clean the entire time the contractors were working on the project. Large pieces of cardboard, plastic and paper were immediately placed in large plastic bags and loaded in trailer immediately. As stated before no bottles, cans or any food waste was left for us to pick up. The contractors were careful when working inside the house, We wanted to move our own furniture and did so in advance. l will say again that all trash generated by the contractor while working inside the house was cleaned up. The entire installation time was 21/2 days.

as per his estimate. The half day was primary to make sure we were satisfied with the installation of the windows, caulking, replacement of rotten wood and the painting of the frames. We were very satisfied with the entire installation and the professional manner that was displayed by Michael and his crew.

The new windows make a big difference, The three hot weeks following the installation of the new windows was noted on first much lower utility bill. Also you can move across the entire back wall of the den where new large windows were installed and no heat radiation can be felt. The new windows, caulking replacement of rotten wood and painting make a big difference in the overall appearance of the property.

NOTE. I am not a window expert but I will say that l did research and sat down and talked to three different contractors before starting this project. All of the contractors we talked to were very professional. Price might have something to do with us selecting this contractor. I want to emphasis that before you start a project you should get a written agreement on EVERYTHING. to include how the project will be paid for, how clean up is to be handled, wearing of booties inside the house and anything else you can think of.

My wife is not easy to work for and she asks many questions, even though they were very busy Michael and his crew were always very polite and took time to respond to her questions.

Michael's crew arrived on time on the day they promised. The crew was very fast and amazingly quiet. I offered the use of my bathroom, ice, and water, but the crew was well prepared and did not require use of them. They finished the roof on one day and cleaned up all trash, debris, and nails before nightfall. Michael came out the next day to inspect the work and to ensure I was satisfied with the work performed. Overall, it was a fantastic experience that went smooth and professionally. Michael was able to provide me with the invoices and extimates I needed to be able to process my insurance claim.

Thanks for work well done!

Company, Mike Wilkins, refuses to back up warranties. He did not get the permits for the work until the following spring - after work was completed. I watched his assistant come into my house and steal something off my night stand. They are unreliable. He defaulted on our agreement that we made because it wasn't written down on paper.Building turned out alright. There are still somethings that need to be repaired and they refuse to come out to fix them.

Michael was able to come out to provide an estimate within two days of contacting him, and I was satisfied with the initial bid and chose him over Bauer because he is a US Army veteran; since I am on Active Duty, I was happy to bring my business to a vet. Michael and his crew were able to come out the following week to begin painting, and his crew took their time, were very thorough, and cleaned up after themselves. During the several days Michael and his crew were painting my home, I felt completely comfortable with his crew, with his professionalism and skill-sets. On multiple occasions I was unable to be present during the time they were painting and felt comfortable enough to allow he and his crew access to my home to utilize my restrooms, to keep lunches in the fridge, and generally clean up when they were done for the day. During this time, I had no issues whatsoever with the manner my home was being used to complete their work, and his crew were respectful and thorough when cleaning up after themselves. Michael came back the day after the job was complete to do a full 360 walkaround of the home to inspect for any missed spots or places that needed touching up. Michael and his crew cleaned the exterior of my home with a pressure washer prior to getting started, then came back the next day and filled in any gaps, nail-holes, and cracks with caulk prior to starting. They applied painters tape around the entire perimeter of the home in any place where what they were going to paint merged with brick or window or materials not to be painted. I thoroughly inspected their work each day and was satisfied each day as the project progressed. Michael pointed out damaged soffit materials prior to replacing them to get my approval to repair, and in the end, even though there was additional work and repairs done to the soffit, he did not raise the price of the original bid when it came time to pay for services. Michael also pointed out that I had some hail damage on my roof and when the USAA adjusters came out, he pointed out the locations of the damage to the adjusters. In the end, there was enough damage to my roof to warrant replacing it. Were it not for his willingness to point out what he observed, I would not have known there was damage on my roof from recent hailstorms.

At the conclusion to the painting job, Michael ensured that I was completely satisfied with the services performed and even provided me with the remainder of the paint in the event of future touchups.

Once he was certain I was satisfied, we concluded our business with final payment for services rendered.

I am beyond pleased with having decided to use Exteriors of Texas, and will gladly use their services again if the opportunity presents itself...like maybe for replacing my roof when the insurance settles.

Michael and his crew were friendly and cordial the entire time. I thoroughly enjoyed having his crew paint our home.

Nightmare! Michael did not start work until 2 weeks after receiving the first 50% payment. Then he left my home exposed to the elements by removing the siding in mid-June and waiting until mid-July to install the siding. Two days after the work should have been completed, I drove up to find his sub-contractors living in my house! They left all their trash, including beer bottles and old siding.
Never again should anyone hire Michael Wilkins!
Response from Exteriors of Texas
"[member name removed] owes me 4000.00 dollars . The job was completed and she never paid the balance . Now I have to put a lien on the property . Now people can make up their own mind about what she wrote ."

First off, I want to say that I like a deal and I like quality--that's why I always check Angie's list. Mr Wilkins was fast and efficient when providing estimates and a timeline. He was even flexible with holding our deposit check until our insurance check returned from the mortgage company. Mr. Wilkins had (by far) the best estimate and the work began within a week. The job took 2-half days and the workers did a decent job cleaning up- I found a few pieces of tar paper on our balconies, but no big deal.
He came out to inspect after the roof was done, hauled off some old junk (not his stuff, but we don't have a truck) free of charge. We were so happy with his work that we are hiring him again for our rental property roof/repairs. We are also going to have him do some additional work on our home before we sell. He's fast, reasonable, and understands the insurance claim process. Everything exceeded our expectations, especially for the price.
Mike was very detailed oriented and up front about costs and discussed value of his product as well as other siding products we were considering. His crew was very professional and daily cleaned up after themselves. Our siding was a special order color by the supplier and required us to wait for the beginning of instillation as well as two shorter waits during the process for more supplies to come in. I feel like communication could have been a little better when we were waiting for the supplies. If we didn't have to worry about our pets being inside while the workers were at the house the communication issue would not have been anything to worry about either.

The Simonton windows are very nice. Everything went well - there was no rush and the installers were personable. It would have been a complete touchdown if the installers had refrained from leaving their cigarette butts on the property and had tidied up afterwards, i.e. sweeping up, or moving outdoor furniture back into place.

Exteriors of Texas did work on two of my rent houses. They replaced the roofs on both of them. On one home they had to replace a large section, over 50%, of the siding, replace half of the eves, and part of the fence. They painted the entire exterior of one home. They were prompt, came when they said they would. They cleaned up everything when they finished. I am very pleased with everything about them and would, and will use them again!

They were expensive compared to some of my estimates but they did good work. I was pleased with the job.

Overall, it went well. Mike took quite some time to get back to me before job scheduled, longer than I was told it would take for them to receive windows; I ordered. He said he had a death in the family, which, of course; I understand, but a call or text would have been nice. He was very prompt, but windows were not color I ordered, but they turned out looking nice anyway. Installation went smoothly. My problem is I asked, when he gave me an estimate, when he did the install and after the install (by voice mail) for an itemized bill. I never received one., nor did he return my calls. In regards to cost it is hard to evaluate without a breakdown of costs and could be construed as misleading.
The owner came out for the estimate and also completed the work. They had to special order the windows and there was a problem with the manufacturer. It took a little over four weeks for the work to be completed because of the trouble with the manufacturer. They cleaned up all of the mess that they made. I also had a lot of excess dirt I still had from a pool installation and he picked it all up for me. Everything turned out good.

It went fairly well. The price was great and the quality of the windows were good, that's why we went with the Big Deal and Exteriors of Texas. Michael and his team were very professional and did a great job.
The windows in our 35 year old home were original and in need of replacing. Michael, the owner, was prompt, courteous, and professional during the entire process. At the initial meeting he answered all our questions and gave us some additional options to consider. I did not feel pressured at any point. He gave us an estimate of when the job could begin and how long it would take. When we had an unexpected out-of-town trip which delayed the installation for a couple of weeks, Michael delt with it in a polite and professional manner. When we retured he was able to scheule the installation within a reasonable time.
Michael had two other workers helping with the install. They were a joy to be around. They took care to keep the mess to a minimum both inside and outside and when the job was over (2 days) they did an excellent job of cleaning up. I highly recommend Exteriors of Texas.
It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. it looks good but it took a long time for them to get there. I paid an additional amount because apparently, my roof had a larger square footage than what the coupon has.

Thorough, timely, and they cleaned up all of their mess. Some of the old windows were very difficult to remove because of the house being older and with such thick walls. They arrived on time, worked hard, and made no complaints when the job took more time than they had expected.
Michael Wilkins did a fantastic job removing 4 old windows and installing 4 new windows in my 123 year old farm house. He was careful and professional and went the extra mile with details like paint, caulk, and clean-up. I highly recommend Michael with Exteriors of Texas!
The windows are great. The installers and the owner, Mike were very nice. Mike even got us the "contractor grade" windows so the exterior can match our house (beige) and the interior matches interior trim (white). I am very pleased.
As I stated above, Mr. Wilkins and his crew made this an extremely easy process. I spent more time dealing with insurance adjusters. I have plans to use him again in the near future on a rental property.
My sister and I are retired and on Social Security so needed a good deal on a quality job....Received a free estimate. Spoke with Michael (owner) regarding the special price $3500 for lifetime shingles listed as a coupon deal on Angies list. He did not believe this was correct but agreed to meet a competitor's price of $3800 and applied lifetime shingles but would not appliy ridge vent as was listed in coupon. I printed a copy of his coupon so he would be aware of what he was advertising for the next client. We agreed on the $3800 price as he was able to provide the service quickly. The crew did a wonderful job on the roof with only a few roofing nails and tiny pieces of old roof left in yard. Turtle vents were added and look great. Crew was polite and professional and very hard working. Michael came by a few days later and re-secured the chain link fence section that had been removed during the job. We discussed putting in some new windows.
