The entire process, from the initial call for an estimate to the completion of the job, was seamless and enjoyable. Steve, the owner, provided the estimate and was present on-site with his team throughout the project. His attention to detail was evident, treating the project as if it were his own deck. His pricing was competitive and transparent, with no surprise charges, and even a few dollars less than other quotes. He did not cut corners in any aspect of the job. Steve's communication was exceptional, promptly addressing any concerns even when he was off-site. Furthermore, he is the expert Timbertech sends for warranty repairs on their material. It was an absolute pleasure working with Steve. The project involved replacing an old wooden deck with Azek/Timbertech, including new footings, resulting in a fantastic two-level deck. The finished product looks amazing, and we have received many compliments. We couldn't be happier with the outcome.

Steve / EZ Deck built a 30 x 22 deck a 5 years ago using composite decking material. It still looks great today, and is solid. It included seating all the way around and a 3 feet white PVC fence with openings at 2 ends. The ground started to shift slightly and one board lifted. I called Steve and asked for a repair a week ago, he came back and fixed it for free. Excellent customer service.

Stephen and his team were great! Stephen initially came to give us an estimate about a deck re-do a year ago, but at the time we were unable to proceed. A year later, we were ready to move ahead with the project. Stephen came to our home the same day I called and got us right on schedule! They were incredibly hardworking, respectful, quick and efficient. Our new deck is a great feature in our backyard and has made our yard a great place for our kids to play. It was okay. It was a little expensive, I thought. They fixed my deck. My railings were all screwy. I have a gazebo in the back that was kind of sinking a bit. They propped it up to make sure it doesn't sink anymore. They do other stuff too. They do everything. I have no problem with them. They were punctual, they were here everyday, but they were a little expensive. It was okay. They did good. In retrospect I may have shopped around to get a better deal. It's a big deck. I might not have been able to get a better deal. I don't know. They were nice guys. They were doing the work for someone; I made the phone call and the boss came out and did my estimate. It was a little more than they anticipated after all of the smoke cleared. They were here a day or two earlier than they anticipated also. I just think it was a little expensive per day. I guess my bit stickler is the cost. The service is okay. My deck is still looking good. It's tough because I'm working with this wood that they don't make anymore. They were definitely receptive to my concerns. They were here every day on time. I would use them again, but I would shop around, and the price would have to be closer to the final price. In their defense they were here an extra day. I understand that it's not going to be what it was, but I think that they charged me a lot per day.

I got estimates from many Deck companies that work with new composite materials. I learned that many contractors do all wooden decks and do it inexpensively. Steve (EZ-Deck) doesn't accept all wooden Deck projects and will refer you to someone who does. I received estimates from other larger Deck contractors that were much higher in cost. I picked Steve (EZ-Decks) because of the fact that he personally works on the job with his workers. He is meticulous in his design and installation. Everything he does is thought through and he builds your Deck as if he were building it for his own house. All of the screws and hardware that he uses is Deck designed for outdoor use. I know other contractors with cheaper estimates use substandard hardware. I work at home so I was personally watching everything they were doing. They are professional with years of experience. They make templates for repetitive fabrication. They even made a template out of plywood for the curved area before they cut the Azek. My dad was a cabinet maker so I appreciate craftsmanship. I couldn't recommend EZ--Decks enough. The name implies EZ Maintenance and could be misleading. There is nothing EZ about what he builds. I also learned that the manufacturers use EZ-Decks for their warrantee work and he is highly recommended with them as well. An A+ in my book. The Deck came out gorgeous. He added a detailed arch in the front because he has an eye for details.

Stephen and his team are outstanding.  My wife and I are extremely discerning customers, and after meeting with four of the top rated deck builders on Angie's List we elected to proceed with Stephen after reviewing his portfolio and viewing some of his previous projects documented on the Internet.  He was also one of the few deck builders that had experience with and was comfortable installing curved railing and deck boards.  When we met with Stephen, we were immediately impressed with his professionalism, his creative vision, his suggestions, and his ability to take our ideas and make them a reality.  Before finalizing our plans, we had many questions and Stephen answered each and every one of them in a timely manner.  He was very easy to work with, and simplified what initially seemed to be an overwhelming decision-making process. <br> <br>Over the course of eight days Stephen and his crew constructed our dream deck.  Stephen was on the project site every day with his team until the job was complete.  They were reliable, punctual, and their work ethic was impressive; they began work routinely by 7:30 A.M. and would often work until 6:30 P.M.  The quality of their craftsmanship is top notch, and the finished product exceeded our expectations.  It looks just as nice as the decks we admired in the deck brochures when selecting our materials.  Stephen and his team are talented carpenters. Their attention to detail was apparent as they measured and remeasured before making each cut.  Although we had to adhere to set plans regarding the deck's size and dimensions, Stephen incorporated several subtle changes that made the deck more aesthetically appealing and functional as well.  When we decided to proceed with Easy Decks they were booked for a month or so in advance, but they were well worth the wait, and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone in need of a new deck.

EZ-DECKS built our backyard deck.  They came highly recommended and didn't disappoint.  We are so amazed and happy with our deck that we called EZ-DECKS to work on our front porch.  Steve and his crew are meticulous and work early in the day until late in the evening.  We chose one of the newer Timbertech colors this time and we love it so much we are thinking of making an addition to our existing deck in the backyard to incorporate some of the colors.  Steve had wonderful idea for a pavilion that we are considering doing for our backyard as well.   <br />

We wanted a two level deck with a dedicated section for the grill, a separate dining area and a step down CURVED lounge/entertaining area. All posts, stair's steps and curved lounge area to have LED lighting. The deck to be built with capped composite material with hidden screws and to be inspected and approved by the Town. We called the four top rated deck builders on Angie's List, asked them to come to our house for a free estimate and compared their estimates and our experience with each of them before making a decision. The top rated builder sent a salesman that brought an IPad with a 3D software and some decking samples He offered no guidance or vision and the only question he had for us was how big a deck we wanted. Showed zero interest in what we had in mind and just kept entering different size decks in his iPad and spitting out estimates. Without the minimum idea of what we wanted, he gave us an estimate on the spot based solely on size; pushed hard for us to choose Trex and made strong adverse comments about other brands' quality and reliability. The next top rated builder was so arrogant on the phone that we passed on him. For the third estimate we got the actual owner/builder of the next top rated company in Angie's List. He was very likable and seemed to know his business. All was going well until we mentioned CURVED rails, lights and town inspection. He became uncomfortable and tried to convince us to do it hexagonal instead of curved and brought up every reason why we should not have the town inspection. He promised an estimate in two days and to no surprise to us, never quoted. Next up and last was Stephen Senzatimore, owner/builder of E-Z Decks who we had met at the Nassau Coliseum Home Show two years prior. When he came to our house, Stephen sat with my wife and I and patiently listened to our ideas, looked at our pictures and sketches, asked a ton of questions and took notes. He then proceeded to draw a full size version of what he understood we wanted on the backyard. It was unbelievable! He had listened and paid attention to what we have said and captured what we wanted. Stephen was unfazed and welcomed our desire to have separate dining and entertaining areas, dedicated grill section, CURVED rails, LED lighting, two levels and town inspection. He actually seemed delighted to hear that as he would be able to show off his craft. He showed us samples of Trex, Timbertech and Aztek and told us to visit a store where we could see additional samples and colors, actual built decks, LED lighting, etc. He did not steered us to any brand. We decided to go with Timbertech's Evolution Legacy Collection because of its looks and the 25 year Fade and Stain Warranty. E-Z Decks' was not the lowest estimate we received but the beautiful deck they built was worth every penny. Stephen was upfront about prior commitments he had and we waited about six weeks for him to start work on our deck. Stephen and his crew showed up for work each morning at around 7am and work to evening and cleaned up every day. Getting an appointment with the town and for the inspector to show up as scheduled could be a headache and delay the work progress but Stephen patiently waited and passed all three inspections with flying colors. Stephen's professionalism is evident when you see him at work. Building the frame, measuring and remeasuring every step of the way, making the curved area (I doubt someone else could do this), automating the assembly of the rail system in a 1-2-3, perfectly angled handrails and leveled stairs, wiring the LED lights (he will remind you that he is not an electrician everyday). If you want a perfectionist, a master craftsman who takes pride in his work, someone that pays attention to detail, that listens and that will bring the deck you dreamed and envisioned to life, then call Stephen at E-Z Decks. You'll be glad you did. Trust me!

If you're looking for a professional team to install a high quality deck you can be proud of, look no further!   Steve and his team at E-Z Deck are the ultimate craftsmen and professionals.  Believe me, I know.   <br /> After having an 1,800 sq ft deck installed by another company, I learned within a year that the particular color of the decking material we selected was recalled due to premature color fading.  The material provider, Timbertech/Azek, was fantastic to deal with and honored the warranty, providing replacement material, as well as, labor costs.  As I said Timbertech/Azek was a pleasure to work with and I highly recommend them, but that's a story for another review.   <br /> When I asked Timbertech for an installer they would recommend, because I was not at all happy with my original installer, they recommended E-Z Deck.  In fact, they have designated E-Z Deck a Master Timbertech/Azek Installer on Long Island and I can see why.  After getting estimates from a few installers, I chose E-Z Deck because they offered a very fair price that was completely covered by the manufacturer and were obviously very familiar with Timbertech/Azek and how to properly install composite decking material.  E-Z Deck removed the old decking, made vast improvements in the structure of the old deck and created a much more visually appeallig deck than the old company, using the same type and amount of material!   The previous installer, for example, left us with a railing system that was weak and unsafe.  E-Z Deck made some simple, yet critical, improvements that created rock-solid rails and posts -- we feel so much safer now.  They also gave us new, stylish trim that sets against the house, making a nice transition, where the old company rough-cut some decking material and jerry-rigged it as trim, where it proceeded to buckle and warp.  E-Z Deck laid the decking down in a more creative pattern than the old company making the deck look much more finely crafted and professionally installed. <br /> Every day the team was onsite early and stayed late, finishing the job ahead of schedule.  All told, if I didn't have the experience of having E-Z Deck complete the re-install, I would have thought my first installer was acceptable.  However, after having the experience of comparing the two, there is no comparison -- E-Z Deck is clearly unique among many and I wish I went with them in the first place.  I highly recommend them, would use them again and I am confident you will be very pleased with their craftsmanship. <br />

I Highly Recommend EZDeck for Your New Deck <br /> Last summer we wanted to put in a large deck (900 Sq. Ft) on our Dix Hill's home.  After meeting with various people in the decking business, we felt most comfortable with Stephen at EZDeck and selected him to do our installation.  We installed in August and are very happy with our new deck.  Steve and his team did an outstanding job, and the deck looks fantastic.  As issues arose during the installation process, as they do with any home improvement project, it was very easy to work with Steve.  For example, Steve kept us informed daily on installation and scheduling so we could have our electrician on site to hook up the electrical at the appropriate time and without hassle.  Also, I've had no issues with the deck through the winter season and I'm sure we will be enjoying our new deck for many, many years to come.  We could not be happier with the result.  I highly recommend Stephen and EZDeck if you are looking to put in a new deck this summer. <br />

Very hard to get intouch with after agreeing to contract price. Wouldnt give a start date. Called on a weekend to start on monday. Had already set up with a mason to do patio. They ended up playing nice together. Deck came out great but waiting for a response for something to be corrected with the deck. <br />

We called EZ-Decks because they had such a great Angies list review, and so far this method has not steered us wrong. <br /> In late winter, EZ-Decks gave us an estimate that was substantially lower in cost than the other prices we got for the same job. In addition, Steve the owner and salesperson suggested that we dress up the project with a curved outline, which we liked very much. He also suggested an enlarged landing, which we also thought was a great idea. I waited for these suggestions to raise the price -- but they did not, Steve made these suggestions 'on his dime'. <br /> We did wait for a few months for our install date. However I took this as my own fault. I had waited on the decision until the spring, which is his busy season. In the interim we had some questions which we relayed via email and Steve answered. <br /> By the end of the summer, we had our deck and it is BEAUTIFUL. <br /> The crew did a careful and complete job of demolition. We had many usable plants in a garden where the deck would go, and I expected grousing and perhaps an extra charge to remove these plants without destroying them -- but his crew complied and there was no drama. We also had sprinkler lines that traversed the area, and so his crew had to dig them up to move them out of their way -- with my permission. Again, no drama. I was thankful for that. <br /> I was impressed with the care and materials used for the footings - they used casings and brackets which I was informed are required to be up to code. <br /> Once the crew began the framing, I could see they were each skilled carpenters and could see by the care they took that everything was going to come out great. Every joint was double checked with a square -- even for the framing, which would be invisible once the project was complete. At the end of each day, the entire work area was cleaned up and they respected my property and treated the project as if it were their own. <br /> The final work is exquisite, with every seam and joint perfect. The curved line that Steve suggested really dresses up the project, and so does the larger landing. We are pleased that we decided to use the Trexx product, and with the expectation that it will look like new for many years to come with no maintenance required. <br /> We are looking forward to another project with Steve -- an upgrade to the gates that enter our yard with pool safe aluminum gates. <br /> We would recommend using EZ-Decks 110%, they did a beautiful job at a very reasonable cost. <br /> <br />

From the first initial inquiry to the deck completion Stephen the owner was on the job site and took care of every detail. EZ-Decks crew would show up early every morning until the evening and at times work under rainy conditions just to complete our deck project. The crew members were neat clean and their work speaks for itself. The attention to detail and workmanship has far surpassed our expectations. We are beyond pleased with our deck and would highly recommend EZ-Decks to anyone looking for a quality deck builder that pays attention to every detail of the project. We chose EZ-Decks over other project bids after seeing previous decks that EZ-Decks completed.
