While the work was ultimately completed and the end product was acceptable, I cannot recommend Faith Construction and would not use them again. This was a small project - installing a wall to create a bedroom, installing a door from the bedroom to the bathroom, rearranging the existing electric to work and then painting everything. I got four estimates from Angie's List contractors and the Faith Construction initial proposal came in as the low bid. However, the bid was not very detailed. They used words or short phrases to describe the tasks (such as "one standard door", "crown moldings", "install electric in wall", "add electrical switches".) rather than using complete sentences. I reviewed the bid and questioned several of the items on it. They were going to put in a standard door when all other doors in the are were 8 ft doors. They were going to remove a ceiling fan when I had instructed them to move a fan that was placed where the new wall was going and to install a new fan that I would provide. When I pointed this out, they revised their bid by about $600. This was a lot for those corrections but their bid was still a little lower than the second lowest. They also promised to start right away and finish by the end of the week. I was going out of town for an extended period the following week so I agreed to have them do the work. The workman were competent. They showed up on time, worked all day, were polite and made a good effort to keep the place clean. However, they required supervision and did several things that were perplexing to me. At the end of the first day, they had installed the new wall with an open door frame and did the demolition on the new door to the bathroom. However, they did not put in a light switch by the door on the new wall. And for the new door to the bathroom, they moved the existing light switch to the corner of the room which would be behind the new door. These things are basic and should not require instruction or supervision. To their credit, they did recognize these mistakes and went about fixing the problem. However, then they realized that one of the light switches controlled lights to the both the bedroom and the living room (previously one room). I had pointed out this issue to Faith and all the other contractors but Faith claimed to be unaware of it. They insisted that this was not in their proposal and that I would have to pay for an electrician to come and do the work. At this point, I was ready to toss them out. However, they are almost done and I am going out of town so what am I going to do? If I had the time to hire individual contractors to do this, I would have done that in the first place. You hire a general contractor to take care of everything so you don't have to. Finally, the rooms had crown molding. Their estimate listed "crown molding" as something included in the price. What they did was use some of the crown molding from the bedroom to the living room and remove the remaining crown molding from the bedroom. While this was OK, it was not clearly specified in the proposal and other contractors had priced in complete crown molding for both rooms. I was out of town by this point and tired of arguing with them In the end, other contractors would have been less expensive and required less supervision. If you have a small project, you are better off hiring individual workman. If you have a bigger project, you are better off using someone else from Angie's List or elsewhere.
Response from Faith Construction Corporation
"I will like to personally apologize to our customer. At Faith Construction Corporation, we take pride in being respectful and professional. There were some discrepancy about the electrical I explained to the customer that it was not on the contract . Our contract is very important it is our checks and balance. The additional fee was not $600 it was not $400. And that’s when everything went Down hill .In the customer reply he stated that the work was done properly and so he did like the job that’s our goal. OurPrices are fair. And honest."

It went as planned. There was a crucial deadline that had to be met during the project and it was met. The workers did what they needed to do to meet the deadline.

Overall, we are happy with the work. The manager, Forrest was excellent. We had some issues along the way and it took much longer than originally quoted. It was still handled professionally by Forrest and he is the reason why I wouldn’t write a bad review. Some of the subs did sloppy work but it was always fixed.

Little did we realize when we purchased our home that the shower in the master bath had been improperly constructed, creating moisture-rot and degradation to structural a support joist under our house. Fortunately, we discovered the problem before any permanent damage had occurred, but finding the right contractor for such an important job wasn't all that simple. Our one trusted contractor had moved, and therfore was unavailable. Calling Arthur Forrest with Faith Construction was, to me, a bit of a risk, as his company had less than a half-dozen reviews on Angie's List--although they were all A-ratings. But I was searching for a list of qualifications--the perfect combination of knowledge and skill, communication and customer service skills. And I hoped to find someone who actually cared about his work and reputation. I believe I found all I was looking for when I met Arthur Forrest. He returned my call right away. Check. Rather than delaying his estimate, he worked us into his schedule to come take a look at the problem, and was able to give us his professional opinion within 24 hours. Check. His price was quite fair. Check. Everything he presented to me seemed to line up with the positive reviews I had read about him, as he seemed to care about the work, and put in the time to assessing the problem and getting the proposed solution right. Check. The work was done under my husband's scrutiny, who is not always easy for contractors to please. But by the end of the job, which was done on time and on budget, my husband had nothing but wonderful things to say about the quality of the job. Faith Construction had gone above and beyond to ensure that their work was done to his satisfaction, and done right, without cutting any corners. Mr. Forrest has left me with the string impression that he is an ethical man with a deep concern for his customers' satisafaction, and his company's reputation. After seeing what he is capable of accomplishing, and having experienced how this company conducts business, I have no reservations in recommending Faith Construction to anyone who wants a job done right. I am very pleased.

Very well
I had engaged Faith Construction to build my patio in January 2014. This was a very complex and involved project as the patio extension was over 40 feet x 35 feet in size and so very heavy. The architecture and engineering drawings were finalized after much discussion between the City, my Architect and the Trusse Engineering firm. Faith Construction was engaged after the plan was approved by the City. Their scope of work included obtaining permits, building out the patio, installing a new roof that tied in with the existing roofing system, Electrical, and building out a BBQ. At this point in my home remodel project, which was 12 months overdue, I had been through the ringer with several unethical contractors so my trust was quite low.
At the end of this experience I can truly write that there are ethical contractors in South Florida and Faith Construction is one of those few. I have highlighted before a few key ways in which the team at Faith Construction surprised me.
My first positive impression working with Arthur Forrest is that once he understood the plans and my vision, he quickly realized that the plan as-it was drawn and approved was not viable. He personally worked with my Architect, the Trusse firm and redid the drawings so that it was viable for the field condition at my home. This wasn’t really part of his scope of work but he did
drive this to closure for me.
The second difference I saw with Faith Construction is the quality of sub-contractors he engages. All of them have proved to be extremely knowledgeable, very focused on completing their work on a time table and also very focused on the quality
of work. My experience to date with sub-contractors had been very poor – a lot of talk and no delivery. I was very pleasantly surprised that his team was quite the opposite – limited talk and all delivery and at a very reasonable price. This was evident from demo team, stucco crew, concrete contractors, electrician, everyone. It is very evident that his firm goes to great lengths
to develop a network of very diligent sub-contractors
The third difference I would like to highlight, is that Faith Construction is very focused on completing the job with great quality. The City Inspector who had been inspecting my project over the last year and half, could not say enough positive words on the quality job that Faith was doing. This was very surprising because this same Inspector had been very stoic over the last
year and half of inspections of work undertaken by my original contractor!
