My experience with this company was very disappointing and extremely costly.
I hired Mike Famous to waterproof my basement due to a leak. He did a walk through and wrote down everything that needed to be done. He requested only cash upfront. During the job he kept suggesting I should file a claim with my insurance company. He told me he would pad the bill, essentially asking me to commit insurance fraud. I called in the claim, they spoke to Mike and sent out an adjuster. The claim was denied as they claimed it was seepage. When I told Mike he became very angry, started yelling and obviously didn't
believe me. Told me anybody could see this was a claim.
He then painted a wall which I never agreed to and was not in the contract. I had paid upfront in cash for a battery backup for my sump pump. He then told me that until I paid an additional $700 for his worker to paint the small wall he was holding my backup battery hostage. He continued to be nasty and stated he would not do anymore work until I paid for something that didn't need to be done.
He then packed up his stuff, and walked out, breaking our contract and keeping the money I gave him for the back up system( $1000).
He is not a nice man. He is not an honest man. His words and his contracts are meaningless. Whether he took advantage of me because he expected a big insurance claim or the fact that I'm in my 70s and a woman living alone, I consider that Senior Abuse, along with his other screaming, lying and nasty comments.
I tried to reach out to him. He answered the phone and told me he didn't remember me, claiming he never signed the contract, it must have been somebody else and either way his business was closed. (He sat at my kitchen table and we went thru the contract.) He continued to lie, carry on and be abusive. He is now avoiding any contact by Angi because he knows he owes me $1000 and won't pay.
Nobody should ever use or trust this man and definitely DO NOT PAY CASH UPFRONT.

"She isnt even being charged for any painting, even though she manipulated my painter into painting an extra wall, plus trim, for which I was billed by him. She didnt even thank me for not charging her. Pathetic She is being charged and was invoiced for the mold application that she authorized and for the actual paint cost ( material only) that she agreed to provide and did not, so as to then paint her drywall. Receipts available. As to her insurance comment, she was ecstatic after I mentioned to her that her homeowners policy might cover the pipe leak water damage in her ceiling. Thats common practice, simply. She promptly called her agent and had him speak to me on the phone, barely 20 minutes later. I also afterward spent serious time sending photos to her insurance company and speaking to her public adjuster as a common courtesy. I should have charged her for all that, but did not. She was ultimately denied her claim and is now trying to avoid paying her balance by threatening me with a bad review. Its all quite sad, especially since all of her authorizations are in writing, while all recipes are available. I might place a mechanics lien on her property if she tries to skirt paying what she owes. Finally, Im more than happy to offset her balance by deducting it from the cost of the battery back up and paying her any difference."

Mike was fabulous. He came to my home several times to go over options and what would be needed to repair the foundation of my home. He and his team were very professional, quick and the cost was more than reasonable. After the repairs were made, I also opted to redo my interior perimeter drainage system that was installed by another company. Again, he and his team took care of everything. The entire project was done in a matter of days. I would definitely recommend this company!

The crew showed up, as promised, and as scheduled. They took precautions to keep the areas outside the area of work, clean. The finished the work in 1 day. It’s been a year since I had mike’s famous waterproofing done. as you know we had an usual amount of rainfall and I’m happy to say I’ve not experienced one drop of water in my basement. The best basement waterproofing service you will ever hire. This company installed a French drain around the perimeter of my Philadelphia townhome basement and parged the walls.
