It went great. They worked with Pioneer Kitchen in my kitchen remodel. I was kept informed which is important to me. Great group.

My unfinished basement was disorganized and full of junk. I wanted to turn it into useable space without finishing it as rooms. Gordon came in and suggested ways to make the room cleaner and more organized. They hauled away all the junk. Then they got rid of unnecessary wiring and tacked wires and cables to the joists before painting everything at the ceiling level black. The walls were painted white and the floor grey making the basement a nice useable space.

Joe's quality of workmanship was very good, His workers were courteous and punctual. However, Mr. Feinberg kept throwing excuses our way when his time schedule kept being pushed - to over 3 weeks past the estimated time (the original time frame was 4 - 6 weeks and 3 extra weeks without a kitchen is not fun). The coordination of his work was lacking as well - for example, he had someone texture the ceilings AFTER the cabinets and floors were put in - preventing us from getting it painted unless we taped off all the new cabinets and the new flooring that were installed on time. The clean up of some of the materials and debris was not taken care of either, and we had to remind him to have it removed. Even after that there were still some things that needed to be cleaned and finished and I finally decided to just do them myself. Joe also had a problem with finding the only contract we had signed to bill us properly, which could be why he didn't know what was supposed to be getting done in our kitchen. In all fairness, he did reduce some of the pricing for the inconveniences we experienced but we would have rather had a better supervision of our project, better coordination of activities with his workforce, and a more timely finish.
Response from Feinberg Construction
"[Member Name Removed] made changes to the project that substantively changed the scope and timeline. We tried to explain that, but it was taken as excuses. And while we did our best to mitigate the time line, it didn't appease the homeowner."

Because the company has many jobs, sometimes it was hard to schedule. Although it took longer than expected, the end result was great!

It was great! Feinberg Construction worked with Pioneer Kitchens to renovate our kitchen. We were highly impressed not only with Mr. Feinberg's professionalism and dedication, but also with the care taken by everyone who was involved in the project -- drywall, flooring, and tile installers, plumbers, electricians, painters, etc. Mr. Feinberg stayed on top of the project from beginning to end, and communication was paramount. We heartily recommend this company and would definitely contact Feinberg Construction for any work needed in the future.

Everything went as promised. Each sub-contractor was on-time, polite, friendly and efficient. Each did excellent work and was meticulous on the job site. At the end of each day, the work area was left as neat and tidy as possible. At all times, each contractor was courteous and considerate of the home owners. The project moved along as promised and was completed on time. I highly recommend Joe Feinberg and Bert Bennett. of Feinberg Construction Excellent work was also done by Dave, the electrician; Carlos, the hardwood floor contractor; Tony, the painter; Eric, the HVAC contractor; Adam, the plumber; and Arturo, the tile installer. We couldn't be more pleased with the outcome!
Job went well. Joe always responded quickly to calls and appointments were set up quickly. I went with Joe because he was recommended by the stone fabricator, and because he was willing to help me figure out a creative solution for my awkward kitchen. He was not judgemental of my "out of the box" ideas, and he was tactful and willing to help me find a solution that would satisfy all our needs without being too individualized. He was willing to do whatever I wanted, but was respectful in making some recommendations for me to consider. Other people I interviewed did not listen to my goals for the space and made recommendations completely out of sync with the parameters.
When I was having trouble with one of my suppliers, Joe came up with an on the spot creative solution that would allow us to finish the job without delay. It ended up saving me some money in the end, and lots of hassle. He and his worker were polite and precise in their work. But what I appreciated as much as that was how kind and respectful he is while "shooting straight". He has done jobs much more elaborate than mine, but he treated my humble, budget-minded job with care and quality.
I will call Joe again for more work at my house.

Feinberg Construction met with us an reviewed our outlook for the space. They then provided a detailed quote and time estimate. The quote included demolition of the current basement walls, framing and drywall, electrical, some plumbing installation, painting and staining, some design work, tile, cabinet installation, and appliance installation. The project took approximately 8 weeks from start to finish, and we were very happy with the entire process!

The work began in early July before we made the move back to the area. Joe worked independently and was very good about keeping us informed of the progress. Once we arrived he made himself available whenever we asked. The work was completed on time and on budget.

We are very pleased and plan on using them again.

Because the faucet was so high, it was keeping one of my plantation shutters from opening. I thought I could live with it, but I couldn't. I called him back, and he solved the problem. He took the shutter off, closed it, put it back on, and it was done. He didn't charge me for the trip. I would recommend him to others.

When the installation technicians removed my old countertop, they disconnected the water line from the underneath of it that ran from the sink to the ice maker. The line was secured by clips that were connected to the underneath of the countertop with a double-sided tape on the back of each clip. I saw the clips and knew that they were there since I was present when the water system was installed. The installer did NOT replace the clips and re-secure the water line. Instead, he left it dangling behind the drawers and did not inform us of this. Over the course of the next two months, the water line kept getting banged by the drawers as they were opened and closed and finally burst spilling water all over the floor and resulting in substantial damage and a total replacement of our kitchen floor. The insurance adjuster came out and noted the damage. He conferred with the water company that confirmed that there were clips holding up the water line and that they always install them. The water company came out and inspected the area and noted that the clips were gone. I called the owner of Classic Stone and went over the situation with him. I had over $5,000 in damage to my kitchen floor and requested that Classic Stone pay ONLY my $500 insurance deductible and offered to let him speak with the insurance adjuster and the water company and also to inspect their documents and the kitchen. I own a company with over 50 employees and several service technicians. Every company has an occasional hiccup with an install and Ive personally gone to inspect job sites when needed and wanted to ensure that the owner of Classic Stone had this opportunity. The owner of Classic Stone began to berate me stating that he had only my word about the clips (despite my offer to let him speak to the water company and to my wife who also saw the clips) and that no water company would install the water line by connecting it to the underside of the countertop (even though this is what they did and confirmed that they did and is also what I saw when watching them install it!) He put me on hold for less than 30 seconds then came back and said that he just spoke with the technician that did my job and he said that there were no clips. The owner of Classic Stone stated that his company had no obligation to replace the clips, to resecure the water line or to even let us know that they left the water line just dangling! He said it wasnt his responsibility and that he didnt care about my reporting to Angies List, the BBB or anyone else. Incredible.
Response from Feinberg Construction
"The Customer had an improperly installed R.O. system. The water company ran the water line across the top of his cabinets. under the countertop. He stated that there were clips connected to hold the water line, but the pictures taken at the customers house by the installers didn't show any clips. Additionally, we tried to explain to the customer that you can't attach water line to granite counters in the same fashion as a Formica counter top(assuming it was installed that way, which it wasn't. The friction of the drawers being opened and closed caused a leak in the line which his insurance company paid. But, he didn't want to cover his own deductible ($500.00). He tried to intimate that we should have fixed the water line when we were installing the counter top (even though we'd pointed out to him that it was just laying across the cabinets and should probably be rerun. When we didn't agree to pay his insurance deductible, he threatened to come to Angie's list and give us a failing grade if we didn't. So,even though the work we completed was 100%, his leaking water line extortion amounted to an F. FYI Classic Stone paid the extortion after some trepidation. We understand we are responsible for any damage we do in a home and we take great care to make sure we protect your valuable assets. And, if we do make a mistake, we will correct it."

This company responded very well to what we wanted to do and worked with us to be sure we were happy with the finished product. Their customer service manager, Bill, came to our home after the job was completed and wanted to be sure, before payment, that we were totally happy. We had contracted for another company to paint the area because they had painted our house just prior. This company did not do a good job, painting directly over raw wood without sanding or priming. They also rolled the paint so even on the new fiberglass, it was not a smooth finish. We called Joe back and he sent Scott out immediately. Scott sanded everything down smooth, primed and painted using a brush so it would have the desired smooth finish you want for the front entrance of your home. It looks great now. Scott was very professional and cleaned up everything. He did a terrific job.

MY MAIN FRUSTRATION WAS HAVING TO WAIT FOR A CONTRACTOR, SO THE SUBCONTRACTOR WAS AT HIS MERCY.
