Feldco Windows Siding & Doors

Beware of Feldco. Misleading Sales Tactics. We had windows, siding, gutters, facet, soffiting, and a back door and storm door installed. Salesman stated two payments. 50% down to start the job and remaining due at completion and satisfaction of the jobs. They wanted payment after each job. Workers left two windows unframed with pine shims and spray foam insulation sticking out. Back door lock was installed crooked, bottom weather stripping was ripped up, and worker destroyed my original oak trim around the door and installed white trim in place of it. Siding crew didnt speak english and I came home to them installing insulation board over my existing siding instead of taking old siding off. They were caught not replacing old rotted facet boards and tried installing over rotted out wood. Vinyl trim around the windows was not even. They had to come out three times to caulk the same window. Workers put up new gutters with large black scrape on the front. Sales presentation is recorded, but will not provide a copy of audio to customer.

Beware of Feldco - their window installation service turned into a month-long nightmare due to incorrect measurements, shoddy workmanship, and damage to irreplaceable property. What should have been a straightforward job stretched into a chaotic ordeal, leaving me frustrated and regretful. Additionally, their aggressive sales tactics involve pushing their representatives into your home for prolonged periods, even when you try to get them to leave, creating a discomforting and unsettling environment. They also fail to provide copies of contracts, leaving customers in the dark about their own agreements. Furthermore, their insistence on in-person payments in today's digital age raises concerns about outdated practices and lack of convenience. How does a company make a family feel when they're uncomfortable in their own home, constantly finding reasons to intrude and prolong their stay?

Worst experience EVER! Terrible people who will cheat you out of your money. They installed the door. The screws pulled out of the wood. They came back and put in longer screws. It pulled away from the wood again. We called them again and made an appointment for them to come out AGAIN! Because of Covid, they pushed our appointment for a month later. In that time, because the screws were pulling out of the wood, the door started to get damaged. Then it wouldn't close. My husband removed the bottom arm, so the door wouldn't damage further. We tried calling, but they didn't answer because offices were closed due to Covid. Then, because of all the storms and rain we got,the wind caught the door and bent the whole frame. My husband removed the whole door the next day and put it in the garage. An inspector came out and said we needed the whole door replaced, not a problem. After that, they refused to return our calls. My husband was calling them every other day for more than 2 weeks. They kept giving us the run around and telling us a manager would call us. Finally, called him. They said the damage was caused by wind, which is act of God, so they don't have to replace it. We said, no, the damage was caused because the screws pulled away from the wall because of poor installation, then exacerbated because they closed due to Covid. They essentially called my husband a liar and said we need to call our insurance because they refuse to replace it. Never use this company. Shoddy work, then blame you when it goes south.

We had our windows installed on 9/5/19 and the installers arrived without the screens for our windows. I promptly called Feldco on this and they said that they had 4 of my six screens still sitting in their warehouse. Someone promptly came out the same day with 4 of the missing screens and said that they would order the other ones the next day and should have them in by 9/13/19. We waited patiently to hear back from them and then we started contacting them after 9/20/19. My wife contacted the salesman after that and I called up their customer delight (spite) number after that. The response has been overwhelmingly silent. Each time I have called I have been promised a call back with-in 24 hours (never happened). I have called over four times now regarding my missing screens and have also emailed my salesman.....radio silence on all fronts. Their windows may be great but their customer service post-installation seems to be non-existent. Feldco spends a lot of money on advertising telling you how great they are, but I wish I had spent more money going with somebody who would have been responsive to problems. We were going to use them for our patio door and front door next year, but we'll probably go with someone else, based on the post-installation lack of concern we have experienced. Feldo should remember that satisfied customers will tell 5-10 people about their experience, but dissatisfied ones will tell anyone who will listen. Just wish their hype was as good as their delivery.

Feldco installed 16 defective replacement windows at my home. They agreed to replace them after coming out and determining they were defective. They replaced them with more low quality windows, and did poor quality work. The caulk job is atrocious. The damage the did to the wood surrounding the windows is horrible and does not appear to be fixable with the windows installed. One of the windows is a large picture window which has been replaced twice both times with a damaged product. All of the windows are inconsistent in quality and all have small defects. From afar they look fine, just don’t closely inspect them. They added wood inside of the old openings where it was not necessary to cover for windows being made to small. So now a previously finished opening has bare wood inside of the trim. The company is horrible at calling back when they say they will or responding to actual issues. They have dragged my $12946 install on for one 4 months now always claiming they will “make it right” but taking very little insufficient action to do so. They talk very nicely, and will sell you a good story, but the follow through isn’t there. They sold their windows to me as high end windows at a mid lev price. These are not high end windows. The second installation crew told me how the first installation team did not even install their weather stripping internally properly. My experience with Feldco has been full of empty promises, lies, a defective product (x15 - I am okay with one of the 16 windows), low quality work, and a lack of action. They have made promise after promise to fix things, but do not do it. I have spent many hours on the phone attempting to get this remedied to no end. The last person to come look at the windows was going to replace the picture window, send someone to work on 14 other windows, and try to see how the company could compensate me for the multiple issues and time this has cost me. That was almost 3 months ago and nothing has happened to move forward with this. I did have to cancel one appointment, which I have been made to feel bad about even though they have done a no show where someone forgot to come and cancelled on me in the passed. This is the worst experience I have had buying any product or hiring any service ever. The quality of work would have gotten me fired from any construction job I have ever had, and I’ve had multiple. The amount of stress and aggravation this has caused is ridiculous. The employees are nice and seem to genuinely get things done for you but the product is horrible and whether or not they want to help the fact is they don’t. They don’t return calls and everything is someone else’s fault. They first blamed the manufacturer of their windows then they blamed the installers then back to manufacturing then new installers Felco has never accepted responsibility for their product or work instead they blame it on the contractors they hire basically stating they are just middle men and pointing their fingers. I would never recommend Feldco to even my enemy, they are good sales men and friendly, but it feels like a big con job and they are definitely not honest. Four months of constant calls and waiting and the windows, which were paid for months ago, are still not close to satisfactory. Again this has been the most stressful purchasing experience I have even been through, and the quality is horrible.

We were very happy with Feldco. We had three companies give us estimates. It was a complicated job. Feldco had the best offer and very good service.

I would never recommend them. When the wind blows, it is like my windows are open. I have called them about it and the first time they came out and they said the windows were not locked properly, but I have never opened them. The next time they came out they said they did not see anything wrong and they could try and seal it. They took my windows out and said they windows were not insulated.

The windows installation went well. They cleaned up after the installation. The windows were installed in a timely manner.

They were great, came in got them installed and left. It was wonderful.

The windows really look nice. They really did a good job. They were a little bit over priced. I gave them a B because I felt like they were over priced. They were out early. I would use them again in future.

BUYER BEWARE!! DO NOT USE FELDCO!!! After making the big, expensive decision to replace a custom wooden storm door for a full glass panel storm, I went with Feldco wanting a higher quality door with warranty and some level of comfort having it installed "by professionals". I wanted turnkey. I did not want to buy a door from a big box (I went to 3) whose sales guys could not explain the details of storm doors and then have a run of the mill installer put it in where I would not have front to back accountability if something went wrong. I heard enough horror stories. I did my research, looked at the doors, checked AL's, talked with neighbors and other online reviews. <br /> I may never (ever) buy anything from anyone that advertises in-home sales with a free design consultation. Just so much room for untruths. BUYER BEWARE!! Hard sell. As with any advertising offering you 50% off of what? Half off a jacked up price. <br /> The Feldco sales guy was nice however could not answer my detailed technical questions and its sales people pick a really high price, sit with you and start "dealing" with 20 % here, it is a scam. "Wait for the measurer/ technician; he knows more about product specs and we are a team responsible from front to end." HA HA You have one day to cancel which is not enough time considering the $$ investment. It took weeks to get my "custom door" measured. And then more weeks to have it "custom fabricated". Trust me - NOTHING custom about these doors. I can only imagine the nightmares if one is buying a whole house of windows!! <br /> Day of installation - they were 8 hrs late from my dedicated installation time and it took me hours to find someone who knew anything about the status of my door and the installers. 2 guys who had some door showed up at dusk which quickly turned into night. We had to turn ALL outside and foyer lights on because the "custom door" had to be cut, sliced, hammered, filed down, retouched, repainted and caulked onsite OUTSIDE IN NOVEMBER! Custom??? The glass was also filthy and parts missing!!! This was NOT my 'custom' door  if I was to believe anything they told me about the process. This was November in Chicago - the door does nothing to protect the main door from the elements. But don't you know..."All storm doors are the same." "We at Feldco are a team - we are responsible." HA again. This whole Feldco process was a mess... IS a JOKE!!- the installers are basic guys pulled off the streets- the screen had to be replaced and the 3rd time they came out to evaluate the mess  - they were to replace the screen - AGAIN 6 HOURS LATE AND THEY FORGOT THE SCREEN!!! How do you do that??? The screen that finally arrived 3 weeks (significantly late AGAIN) was brought by a kid in a small car and the 8 foot package was jammed into his trunk - he pulled it out and the frame was bent, broken and the mesh was flapping in the wintery gusts. It is outside - a rumpled mess. The screen weighs NO MORE THAN A POUND!!! I can just imagine what the first summer breeze will do to that screen. DON'T BOTHER WITH THE SCREEN FOLKS.... COMPLETELY UNUSABLE!!!!!! Will do nothing to protect your custom main door.  <br /> All I can say - I will reinstall my trusty custom storm door. Feldco  will NOT take the door back. Never again. <br />
