Kevin was quick to respond to my request for an estimate for a new fence and gate in April 2014.. We discussed the types of fencing materials available and decided to go with a vinyl fence. He stated that he had install several vinyl fences in the past and that the installation on my property would not be a problem. He did state that he could not start the job until mid May. He researched the cost of the materials required and provided an estimate of the total cost. I agreed that he should proceed to order the material so that it would be on hand when he started work in May. He agreed to do so. From this point on the entire project went downhill. One of his helpers would show up ocassionally to remove the old fence panels which were piled up in the back yard. At the most he would work only 2-3 hours per day. Some days no one would show up. Kevin would promise to resume work on a certain day but no one would show up. Time dragged on and nothing much was being accomplished.Eventually the old fencing was totally removed and his helper proceeded to dig holes for installation of the new vinyl posts. During this phase of the work he managed to cut the tv cable in three different places. By September, the new vinyl posts had been installed.. At this point, Kevin dropped by to inform me that he had fired his helper and that he would finish the job by himself. He did remove the old fence panels which had been piled up in the yard for several months. I received an email from Kevin stating that although he wasn't really interested in finishing the project he would reluctantly do so. He did finally show up and began work. However, several of the posts had been positioned incorrectly and had to be removed and new holes dug and the posts reinstalled. Kevin finally finished the installation of the new fence and gate on October 21st. He assured me that the work was warranted for 1 year and that if anything should go wrong just call him and he would make it right. Fast forward to March 2015. One section of the fence had almost totally collasped and another section in the process of falling apart. I emailed Kevin and explained the situation and he wrote back that he would be by on the first sunny day to make the required repairs. On June 6th I was able to schedule another individual to make the necessary repairs and stabilize the fence to prevent further failures. This individual was quite knowledgeable about vinyl fence installation and remarked that the fence was not properly installed inatially.
From the beginning to the end of this project it was like a nightmare. Kevin would make promises but seldom ever did what he promised. The work was shoddy at best. It was a lesson learned the hard way. For some reason, Kevin cannot be trusted to tell the truth. He continually lied to us throughout the process. The overall experience was much worse than explained above. I certainly would not recommend that anyone hire Fences Done Right..
I was out of town when the new fence was installed. My new neighbor, who had the fence installed, had moved in a month prior and we had not exchanged contact information.
When I spoke to my neighbor about fence installed on their property, the neighbor informed me that Kevin informed her that he would contact the neighbors about the fence installation. I let my neighbor know that I was not contacted about the fence installation.
I was not contacted by Fences Done Right. There were no messages on my home phone about the fence installation. There were no notes left on my front door about the fence installation. If a letter was mailed, it would have been returned as I do not accept mail at the house. If Kevin could not reach me, he could have asked my other neighbor, impacted by the new fence, for my cell phone number.
I asked my neighbor for the name of the fence contractor to see about having fence pickets installed on the side of the fence that faces my property. A "bad neighbor" fence was installed which shows the railings and fence posts facing my property. My neighbor does not object to me paying to have pickets put on the side of the fence facing my property. This would mitigate the new wood fence (unattractive) that I now have to view from my kitchen window, dining area, and family room.
I called Kevin, and left my name and phone number in early August 2014. I asked him to call me about the fence installed on my neighbor's property. He has never called me back.
We wanted our fence installed on our new house while we were on vacation since we would be moving in once we returned. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate and it poured while we were gone so Kevin had a late start. The only issue that we had was that once we returned, the date that Kevin gave us for completion was not what was accomplished. We told Kevin that all he had to do was call us to let us know that it would take a little longer and we would fully understand. He understood where we were coming from and we had no problems after that. The fence that we had installed has 6x6 posts and 2x4 railings. It was a big project and he did an awesome job. We had to call him last week since the front gate lock was not operating properly and he came right out and fixed it. We are very happy with the job that Kevin did.
When I first met Kevin, he seemed nice and responsible. He responded to my request for an estimate in a timely manner and provided a very reasonable price for the work. I first contacted Kevin at the around 20 March 2014 for work to be completed by 1 May 2014. Due to bad weather and one guy initially doing the work the work was not "completed" until 12 May. Upon completion everything looked good and Kevin even hung some gates for me (which was not part of his bid) however looks can be deceiving. In a matter of a week three young (about 5 months old) boer goats managed to bow a section of the new pasture fence because it wasn't stretched tight enough. I will not even go into how poorly it held up to two cows and calf. As I started to closely inspect the fencing work on the remaining 23 acres, I discovered that the barbed wire top strand that was supposed to be installed was not installed, there was fencing materials (old and new) left laying around (I have a horse and cattle that could get tangled up in these materials) and numerous areas where the fence wasn't stretched tight. I contacted Kevin and he came out did some minor cleanup and a temporary repair to the "haunted pasture" fence, as he called it. I have repeatedly contacted Kevin over the past several months about getting this fence done right and initially he responded, his house flooded and he was having vehicle issues. I understood his situation so I have been patiently waiting for some kind of communication as to when he was going to get this job finished. The last communication I got from him was on 30 July. I have called and emailed him numerous times since then and he hasn't bothered to return any of my communications. So now I have to hire someone else to fix the fence work that he and his crew did. He should have done the fencing right or refunded a portion of my money if he hasn't got the time to do the work but since he won't return any communications those discussions can't happen. Very sad that my experience wasn't like the rest of his clients. I definitely would not recommend Kevin for any kind of livestock fencing work. Very disappointed!!!!!!

Kevin always goes above and beyond the task, and he also checked an existing fence that needed some tweaking and several slate replaced. This was not a part of his "job", but he did it anyway. He always does a great job, and the old fence looks like I might be able to get another year or two out of it! I couldn't imagine having anyone else do this work. Just don't be in a hurry...Kevin is worth waiting for. He is very busy, and the weather conditions lately haven't exactly been conducive to outdoor work! His prices are terrific, and he's completely trustworthy. I don't know what else to say. He's the best...that's all!

I liked the price. His turnaround time was pretty good. The fence was fine. It was great for the money. I wasn't looking to spend a lot so he did just what I wanted. It was a fair price. I was pretty flexible so he had some time. He had to wait for the glue to fix. He was really nice.

He was really good. He came out twice because one fence blew down and the one on the other side blew down as well; he fixed them both. It's a very open space so I get a lot of wind. I don't remember the exact amount but the total for each job was reasonable. The timeliness was good; he came out when I needed him and the workmanship was very good.

The guys did a great job. The new fence looks great and has a continuous top of fence that follows the slope - much better than our other fence which goes panel to panel at differing height. We'll have to have Kevin and the guys replace the rest in the future.
We needed the fencing in pretty quick so we could let our dogs use the whole yard. The work took about a week in total, which I thought was reasonable for well over 250 ft of new fencing.
The guys took out the old chain link fence and left the area clean and tidy. They came and went with minimal disturbance - sometimes I didn't even know they were there!
Price-wise, they were easily the best quote for the work - the fencing looks good quality & I know it came from Lowe's as they delivered it to our house.

Kevin did several projects for me - initially he was prompt & did a great job. The last 2 projects he had other people doing the work, it was late & quality suffered. He never came back to fix the issues or the work. Not sure what happened with this guy he was great for awhile then was really not.

Kevin responded quickly to our initial contact, came to the house the next day, and gave a very reasonable price estimate. He was able to fit us into his schedule within a few weeks. He showed up when he said he would and completed the work without unnecessary delays. He did not require any advance payment. Because we had to go out of town just before the work was completed, he was willing to wait for payment for 10 days until we returned.
Let me start by saying that Kevin's price was at least $400 lower than the other quotes I got. The price lowered even more when I was able to purchase the supplies using my military discount.
Kevin removed old fencing and installed new about 86 feet. Kevin gave me all of the SKU numbers so I could purchase the supplies from Lowes using my military discount saving me about $80ish. When he started the project several days later due to rain, Kevin told me that the price of my pickets dropped and told me that Lowes would adjust my price paid to the new lower price. This saved me another $220ish. Kevin's efforts saved me $300ish on material.
My cost listed about of $400 is for his labor. The project was about $1,200 with material and before using my military discount.
Kevin is a small independent worker and seems that he works on several projects at the same time. If you are not in a rush and can handle your project taking a few days he will provide you with a GREAT price and quality work.
If you are able to use a discount, military or senior, at Lowes, I would have Kevin provide you a list of material and purchase the items yourself. He is not out to charge you extra for material and his labor price is MORE than fair. He charged me $350 while the others wanted $800ish for the same work.
I would hire him again should I have any future fence needs.
Kevin of fences done right provided us a detailed estimate to remove old fence on the east and west edges of our back yard, and replace with new fencing. The estimate also include the east wing (along south edge of yard from east fence to end of house) and the west wing (along south edge of yard and from west fence to edge of house). The estimate was itemized in such a way that it was easy for us to pick and choose the items that we wanted to stay within our budget. Although the start of the job was delayed about a week due to rain, Kevin arrived on the promised day and was speedy in getting the work done. He was diligent about ensuring that the quality of the final product was consistent with our requirements. His prices were very reasonable. We will definitely hire him again - he did half the job this summer, we will hire him for the other half next summer.
He called for the appropriate inspection to locate utilities. Coordinated a date with us when we could secure our dogs. When the day arrived he came in and removed the existing panels and broken wooden posts. He replaced them with steel posts designed to be used with privacy dog eared boards. Re reinstalled the neighbors edging along the bottom. He repaired a sagging gate that was originally installed incorrectly and shored up with minor adjustments another gate. Extremely satisfied with his work.
Kevin was by far the most professional, prompt, fairly priced, and connected bidder we had visit our home. "Connected" in the sense that he provided regular updates before during and after the process. When he was delayed by weather one day he called to reschedule and came promptly on the agreed upon time. Of note, my neighbors adjoining fence was a bit weak in one section and Kevin fixed his fence without being asked and didn't charge for the time to do it. Stop looking for a fence provider ... hire Kevin. You'll be glad you did!
Am so happy with his service! He is self-employed and it is only himself doing the job, so it took ~ 1 week, but there were a few hiccups that weren't his fault that delayed him a bit. He took the extra time to "puppy proof" the gaps in the yard when he was leaving for the day to prevent my dogs from going into the adjoining neighbors yard when outside. He is cash-only, but worked with me so that I paid for materials on my Lowes credit card and only paid for labor in cash. Lowes quoted me at over twice this price and I am perfectly happy with his quality of work! Highly recommend using this guy!
I found Kevin before he was on Angie's List, through an ad in the Gazette. His price estimate for the job was half of another quote I received. Kevin is a hard worker, frequently does the work by himself, but occasionally brings along a helper. He is friendly, prompt, skilled, and honest, which means he won't try to sell you a job you don't really need or can afford.
He did all of the repairs, replacing 11 posts, and securing a number of loose slats. It looks great and I couldn't be more pleased.
When I can replace the fence, I will be sure to call Kevin to do the job!
I really like them. What stands out is that he is reliable, dependable. His prices were the lowest when I went and got bids. He has built a fence for us before and building a fence on existing property to replace a fence and put in a new one, there was landscaping and alterations, he worked well with that. We didn't really have to clear much of anything, he dealt with the terrain as it was. In all the fences he has built for us, he has had to remove old fences and put in new and he did that beautifully. I would recommend him. He has a good work ethic and he does the work himself.

He did a phenomenal job, and his price was half in comparison to the other estimates I got. He does not have all the business he can use, and I doubt that he has experience in advertising. When my neighbor, who is in construction found out how much work this person did, and how much he charged me, he stood there shaking his head and said, I don't see how, he could do it for that price, but he did. The owners name is Kevin Simolke. Our yard is very large, like half an acre, and there was an enormous amount of repairing. One section of the fences were totally grown over, it had broken off at the end. He did not try to push me into replacing it, while some others would do, and he was very good and fair in what he did. He had a couple of delays due to snow storms and high wind, as one can't do much fence work in high wind. Other than that I did not really care, because that time of the year was not conducive to putting in new fencing. He cleaned up after himself, and over all did a great job.
