Fenceworks

It didn't go. After paying a deposit, we have had a hard time getting the company to respond, either by phone or by email. I contacted the NYS Department of Consumer Protection and initiated a complaint. The representative with the state said that the company was not responsive to them and their phone number was no longer in service.

Terrible service! Still waiting for refund of my deposit or will go to small claims court. Beware! beware! Beware!

They arrived on time and finished it as promised and it came out real good. I even added railing to my porch and they did it for an extra dollars. 3000(340 FT Fence+railing(Including material))

This is a follow up to my review of 2013. It is now 8/2016 and the paint on the fence is peeling back in numerous places. The handle on a gate which we rarely use has fallen off. Bad product.

Not very well. I was excited to finally see the fence go up, but there have been nothing but problems with the gate that they replaced. It was put up at an angle, and is still at this angle. It was put up using the wrong hardware, so the latch continuously would come off. The 2 pieces of hardware holding the gate up were crooked. After about a month and a half of emailing and getting responses about how sorry they were and that they were so busy - the crooked hardware was finally fixed. No one called or emailed that it would get done - they showed up while I was at work and fixed just that one part. Mind you, no new slats were used where the wrongly drilled holes were. The black hardware was just adjusted to be fairly level (as it should have been in the first place), and the black paint on the hardware was all scratched off due to the wrong tools being used. Very disappointed with the company overall. I had pleasant conversations with Amanda, who answers emails and answered the phone when I'd call. Bob on the other hand spoke to me once. I explained the problem and all of a sudden he was going to void my warranty unless he or his company fixed everything. Unprofessional attitude, the 2 guys who installed my materials were smoking and left butts around the area and on my driveway. I would not recommend Fenceworks. I held up my end of the bargain - deposit, signatures, permit, final payment. I still don't feel that they held up theirs.

They did an excellent job on the fence, and I love it. However, as I said above, I did decide to have it lowered. Although Doug is in high demand due to his excellent work and service, he came back over a few days after I called him to come back. He lowered the fence and did not charge me for lowering it. He said he just wanted me to be happy with my fence! Well I am! I highly recommend Doug and his company, Fenceworks. He is highly ethical and professional, and his work is excellent and reasonably priced. <br>Thank you, Doug!

Fenceworks did not show up on September 14 as agreed weeks before. At 9:30 AM I called their number and got no answer so I left a voice mail. I tried calling again at 10 AM and got no answer. I then spoke to the neighbor who had spoken to a woman at the company at 9:15 and was told that they were delayed by showers this morning, but she would try and contact the workers. The neighbor had not heard back since. I called Fenceworks at 10:15 and left another voice mail. I got a call back about 5 minutes later and was told that the man was in court. Further, they did not have all of the materials for the job and would not have them until Wednesday. Apparently they only ordered materials based on the first deposit check and did not order additional materials after they got the second deposit check. They were planning to do the installation on Thursday when the neighbor would be available. I informed her that I would be out of town for the rest of the week and a date was set for next Monday at 9 AM. The woman I spoke with did not apologize in any way and her attitude was very disengaged. We will see what happens next. <br /> <br /> October 21, 2015 update after the work was completed. <br /> The contractors did show up on the re-scheduled date one week later. They were not able to complete the job on that day. They did complete the job the following day. The job was competed to our satisfaction at that time.

I got 2 quotes for installing a fence in my back yard. Both quotes were within a couple of hundred dollars of the other but I went with Fenceworks since my first impression of both the person on the phone and the person who came out to measure and estimate were Both very friendly and professional. This was even at a time when I had 2 other contractors on site for other (different) estimates. By the way they also happened to be the slightly cheaper quote. The guys who came out to do the work were friendly and professional and got the job done. It was a 2 day job and when at the end of day two I pointed out a few areas that did not meet my needs for a low to the ground fence, they quickly and without complaint adjusted it to my liking. They also addressed a slight measurement error on the double gate entrance for my car. It was a pleasure working with them and I would hire them again.

They arrived on time and talked with me first before any work was done.  You see, I have two dogs and I had to make sure the fence was back up before they left as this was a two-day job.  They understood because if it wasn't up, my dogs would just take off.   The old fence was down and a new one was put up.  The slats were put in the next day.  On the first day, before they left, my yard was cleaned of debris so my dogs wouldn't get at it.  I appreciate the caring.  The next day, it was finished and I talked to them about gate adjustment and all went well.  They worked non-stop - had to stop from time to time due to thunderstorm. Just want to say the price was right as I had a few estimates and this was right on.  Even though others were close, I went with these guys because they are a family business and treated me with respect and answered every question I had.  They guarantee their work and to this day, no problems.  You won't be sorry having your fence put in by FENCEWORKS.  I already have recommended them.  BY THE WAY, YOU SHOULD SEE MY FENCE, it looks awesome, as it matches my home with brown shutters and door.   <br /> <br /> <br />

Fenceworks was fantastic to work with.   <br /> They came out promptly to measure and provide me with an estimate.  I had contacted a few other fence installers, but many had a longer delay in getting an estimate and I was eager to have the fence installed.   When I contacted Fenceworks about doing the work, I had scheduling questions.  Fenceworks was MORE than accommodating and I was sold. <br /> They came out today and completed the fence.  It was one of the hottest days of the year and the installers were great!  The fence looks great, it was done quickly and for a reasonable price.  I could not ask for more! <br /> I was very pleased with the entire experience and would definitely recommend them. <br />

Two installers arrived when they were scheduled to. Job was originally scheduled for 2 days. Heavy rain moved the job to the second day and they completed the project in one day. They are perfectionists and we are extremely satisfied with the fence and the entire process.

I can't recommend Fenceworks enough. We were in the process of purchasing a home and wanted to fence in our yard as soon as we could. Fenceworks was receptive and helpful from the first phone call. They were able to accommodate our schedule to come  and provide a quote, their quote was the best in the area, ordered all the supplies and were there first thing the morning following closing. The gentleman who came were friendly and incredibly hard working. Unlike other companies, every post was cemented in, and it only took them 3 days.  <br /> THE FENCE CAME OUT AMAZING!!! Our fence looks like the ones in the magazines. So many our neighbors have complimented our new fence and we too think it is wonderful! They are a great company, very friendly and produce a great result.  <br /> <br /> <br />

Exceedingly Pleased! <br /> We had a few companies, includng Fenceworks, come out to give fence estimates.  The estimates were all about the same.  The  materials that we were looking at also all appeared to be similar.    <br /> We decided to go with Fenceworks because of two things:  (1) Our impression that Fenceworks was more customer-serivce oriented and (2)  We visited their references, who had nothing but good things to say about them.     <br /> Fenceworks listened to what we wanted (Bob is an excellent listener) and demonstrated that our satisfaction was important to them.    Frank and crew did an artful installation job following the contour of the land, and when the job was complete they left little trace of a construction project. Becki and Amanda at the office were great to talk with, promptly getting back with estimated delivery dates, crew arrival times,...    This Fencework team was reliable and obviously they take pride in what they do. <br /> We now have a fence that neighbors and others continue to remark about.  Who knew that a functional fence could be aesthetic investment too.  Thanks Fenceworks. <br />

My primary complaint with Fenceworks is the poor communication they had with us.  Initially the fence was supposed to be installed in June, but there were multiple delays in Fenceworks receiving the aluminum fencing from their distributor.  At long last, it was supposed to be installed on the Monday following the fourth of July weekend.  I had told them that I didn't mind cutting a vacation short to be home on Monday when they were installing the fence, but would appreciate a call if they would not be here that day.  So I cut the vacation short and was waiting at home on Monday.  No one showed up, so I called and was told that the aluminum fence wasn't in yet so they wouldn't be there.  This was completely unacceptable.    <br /> We finally had the fence installed later in the week and it looks great.  However, I had made a mistake when placing the order and realized that we needed an additional gate.  I paid for the additional gate in July and they were supposed to come back and install it.  It's now October and it still has not been installed.  We have called Fenceworks a few times and have been told that they will get back to us, but the they have not. <br />
