BUYERS BEWARE ? especially elderly clients. This company is abusive and cuts corners. We paid $11,000 for a $6,000 project. They never gave us the required 3-day cooling-off period or cancellation form for in-home contracts, lying that we had no choice. They arrived early to lock us in ? before pulling the permit. Fairfax County confirmed they hadn?t paid for it, yet the electrician had already cut our power and started work. He left cables dangling, ran a borrowed extension cord across our carport with no tape or hazard flag, reeked of BO, and blocked our car in. FH Furr never proved he was licensed (none on file with the county). The ?inspection? was a surprise video call, not the in-person visit we were promised. The work itself was fine ? the only reason this isn?t zero stars. But we could have gotten that result without paying nearly double what two other firms quoted.

I’ve been a customer since 1990 seen many changes some good some bad. I had the pleasure of talking to a lady named Pat M about furnace filters she was extremely helpful and provided all the information I required. I ordered them online just as she had provided it all worked out fine. I should see them in 6 to 7 days. When I had my new system put in, I had an electrostatic filter system installed. Here’s the problem. I have to buy the filters online. F H Furr does not sell them. It seems to me that if I had it installed there, I should be able to buy the pieces I need to keep it serviced instead of going online. Like I said, they’re usually good with their Service and I like most of their technicians. They are usually very, very good. But it’s a little things like this ther just aggravate me.

Tankless Water Heater - Repair

This company truly is something else, I have yet to encounter a plumbing and HVAC company that is as bad as this one. Never had anyone send over clearly inexperienced technicians, or work so hard to over-sell what the issues are, then not only does not deliver, but destroys the existing functional water heater that had no issues. Furthermore, after the fact, then avoid phone calls and emails by "forwarding to their voicemail receptionist" when you try to remedy their mistake. Terrible experience would be an understatement of this company's service. AVOID AT ALL COST!!!. It started with us calling them to do routine water heater maintenance on a 3 year old brand new house. Their Tech name Samuel, not only did  not do the maintenance on the water heater, but sold us on some BS about needing to replace our sump pump and install a water filter for 5k instead, and also buy a HVAC service package. We trusted him because his boss made it sound like you have to do this, and little did we know

The original installation was performed to my satisfaction. Six months after installation of the new Tankless Hot Water Heater (THWH), the THWH stopped performing. They were more than happy to sell me on things they thought could fix the problem, when all along it was the THWH that was broken, and under their Warranty. After multiple cancelled service calls, and a flat out inability to understand their product and basics regarding fluid dynamics and heat transfer (I'm a Mechanical Engineer), I bought a new unit and installed the new unit myself. In short, they provided a product that failed, wouldn't satisfy their contractual obligation regarding their warranty, and wasted a lot of my time. Their performance was in my opinion criminal, and I'm still weighing whether taking them to court for my out of pocket costs and time wasted. I would never recommend them to anyone.

The repair work was well done. I had no idea it would take 2 people. The first quote was for a lower price but then they did not have the parts so I said OK to the more expensive option. But then they were not able to do the more expensive option so they went and got the part for the lower price option. But ultimately they charged me for the higher price option. I have called three days in a row and have not been able to resolve the price discrepancy.

Avoid F.H. Furr and save yourself from the ongoing frustration. The HVAC system they installed has broken down multiple times since day one — and right now, it’s still not working. Over the past few years, we’ve had to deal with repeated major failures requiring extensive repairs just to keep the system running. The latest breakdown has left my family without air conditioning for weeks during a stretch of 90+ degree heat. We were told the part needed to fix it was ordered, only to be told later it wasn’t — a scenario that has played out multiple times before. Now, we can’t even get a simple call back or status update. Every repair has taken weeks and only happens after relentless follow-up on our part. The lack of urgency, accountability, and basic customer service is unacceptable — especially for a system they installed that continues to fail. I do not recommend this company and I regret ever trusting F.H. Furr.

I contacted FH Furr because my HVAC ( a Trane XV80) which is less than 5 years old had stopped working. Specifically, the indoor unit would not blow; the compressor worked just fine and was producing cold air. The technician, Jarib Badia, arrived at 10 AM and told me that the unit had a defective blower motor that was likely damaged by a power surge and that Trane would not cover the replacement because it was an Act of God. He then said I needed to spend 3000 dollars on a new motor. I reluctantly agreed to the repair because I needed the HVAC fixed even though the technician’s hypothesis that a power surge caused the damage appeared to lack any evidence. Nevertheless, the technician proceeded to spend 10 HOURS trying to fix the HVAC, even after he replaced the supposedly damaged blower motor. At the end of the day, he admitted that he didn’t have the unit completely fixed but that he was able to get the unit to cycle on low speed. He said he would need additional parts in the AM to completely fix it but that the unit was properly cycling. Nothing could be farther from the truth. After he left at 7:45 PM, I noticed that the HVAC blower motor was not turning off, even when the compressor shut off after the thermostat reached proper temperature. I turned the system to the “off” setting in hopes of getting the blower motor to shut off. This did not work. I now had an HVAC with a constant on blower motor. The only way to shut off the blower motor was to turn off the entire system at the circuit breaker. I immediately called FH Furr to tell them that their technician had totally botched the repair after charging me 3700 dollars and wasting 10 hours of my day. I was told that they could not send a technician until the morning and that a service manager would call me. I have yet to receive that phone call. So I now have an HVAC that is in worse than when the day started and I am out 3700 dollars. I need FH Furr to fix their botched repair or issue a refund.

They were prompt in arriving, efficient in doing the installation, and very courteous and pleasant to deal with. Every experience I had with FHFurr was terrible. I had sales come when my AC broke. I ended up going with another company to which the sales rep said “you’re going to regret that but ok” ummm??? I had a team come out to clean my ducts. I live in a condo and after arriving 1.5 hrs late they said they couldn’t do the service because they couldnt park where they needed…after I told them, as the owner YES. The job was est for 4 hrs. When different techs came back the next day they were only there 1 hr. Fast forward 6 months later I just replaced a register and it had mold on it. So I guess they didn’t really clean much. I had signed up for their AC subscription. I made an appointment months in advance and no one showed up. I called multiple times that day, they said a tech was in the way. No one came. They called a week later to reschedule. When I called CS to say this was unacceptable their rebuttal was “well we called to reschedule” and when I said I wanted to speak to a manager I got an email saying “I listened to the calls and everything was handled correctly” if that is what your company finds acceptable, there are many others that I’ll now go to that treat customers better.

After experiencing a ceiling collapse caused by water buildup resulting from a disconnected AC pipe by FH Furr duct cleaning department, I reached out for assistance. Unfortunately, it has now been 48 hours and communication and guidance on remediation are completely lacking, leaving me feeling stranded by the customer service team and FH Furr as a whole. So disappointed at having not received clearer communication or proactive support as we remain unable to inhabit our bedroom. Has anyone else been experiencing issues with FH Furr's duct cleaning department or customer service team?

Alonso was fantastic! He kept us updated on his status when arriving. He communicated exactly what he was going to do, what he needed from us, and approximately when he would be done. He finished well ahead of schedule! Clearly stated what we need to do to keep up maintaining our unit. He’s great, and certainly deserves a raise or promotion.
