I found F&H Landscaping through Angie's List - I believe they were even on the page of happiness at one time.  When I spoke with Malachi, he was very responsive and gave a quote that was reasonable, if not the cheapest.  I went on their reputation with Angie's List to hire them starting a year ago.  During the first part of the year, they were very easy to work with - Malachi called if they were problems, and it was easy to get ahold of him.  Earlier this summer, I received an email from Malachi stating that the timer was out.  I emailed him back the next day, but never heard a response back.  By the time I got someone to call me back, the rental management company had already had to go out to replace it.  I was told that Malachi had left the company.   <br /> On September 25, , the tenants complained that service had not been done in over a month.  I left a message, and the owner called me back within 2 hours.  He stated that he had been out there 10 days ago, but at the last visit, the tenants were not at the house, and he had no key to enter the backyard.  Usually, in the past, there had always been someone there to let them in.  I gave the tenants his info to work out a schedule and how to get into the backyard.  He also asked if I would like the lawn overseeded for the winter, and I replied yes and asked him to send me the invoice. <br /> Last week, I received a random email from a different company (Stark Contrast) with an invoice for landscaping service for that address which included both the routine service and winter seed.  I had no idea who they were, so I called and left a message the day after the email explaining my confusion.  No one called me back until I emailed them 2 days ago.  They confirmed that F&H Landscaping had closed the business and they had taken over their clients.  Since I had F&H Landscaping on autopay and had already sent out payment for the month, I asked if the new company would receive it - they replied no.  I checked my bank account and discovered that F&H has already cashed the check for this month.  I informed the new company of this fact. <br /> I had no problem with F&H throughout the year until this summer.   Even then, most of the issues were quite small and I was happy with the way they resolved it.  However, I find it incredible that they would close their company and not inform any of their clients, and furthermore that they would cash a check for work they had not done. <br />

Half of the plants they provided are either dead or soon will be. I was told he would replace them. I have not been able to reach them about this. I learned that the company has broken up and even tried to call his ex-partner to reach him.

When Malachi was working everything was great, but now that Bobby is on his own, things are just not the same. <br /> Well todays service was good, but i still miss the old days

I talked to Bobby to schedule services for an overall yard clean up, including trimming all of my trees, shrubs and plants.  He was very professional on the phone and we confirmed a day for them to come out and do the work.  They did arrive on the scheduled day, but they only worked on a few of the trees/bushes in my yard.  They did not touch the two big trees in the front yard or the large bush on the side of my house, or any of the other plants.  Unfortunately, I was not home at the time of service so I couldn't address these issues at the time.  I called the next day to express my disappointment in the services and Bobby agreed to send the crew back out to my house because he wanted to make the situation right.  No one ever showed up.  I have since called again and left a message, but no one is returning my call.  Based on the reviews on this site and my initial conversation with Bobby, I was expecting a professional company that provided quality services, but unfortunately that has not been the case.  At this point, I have not been invoiced for the services so I'm not out any money, but if I do receive an invoice I will only pay for the actual services that were done, which was minimal.  I hope others have a better experience than I have.

Their service had been ok, but not perfect, but satisfactory.  I paid for the June services and they were to return July 12th.  They had not come at the usual time when I spoke with Mr. Henningsen who said that the rain has pushed their work load back and they would have to come the following Monday.  I spoke to them on Monday and they said that they would be here around 1pm.  They never came by or called.  I would be very concerned if I were thinking of hiring F&H Landscaping.  To tell me that they would be here to do work that was already delayed and then not show or answer multiple phone calls was the final straw.  Not that they need me to tell them now, but they are fired!

On the day of service, they called before arrival and spent 90 minutes cleaning my backyard of extensive weeds and dead plants. They even trimmed my pigmy palms. Thinking about the need for a future visit, I asked him about my Palo Verde tree in the front yard and he advised that my tree didn't need major pruning at this time and that I could probably trim the stragglers myself and extend the time before the tree would need professional trimming. I appreciated his honesty.

My rental property was abruptly vacated by the tenants and left a shambles.  The landscaping was the tenants' responsibility to maintain.  They had done OK with the front due to the HOA keeping track of it but the back was a mess.  The sprinklers were off and everything was very dry and weedy.  Some of the bushes need to be cut back and a vine growing on the side of the house was completely out of control.  I attempted to contact a few landscapers but Malachai was the first and only person to return my call.  We made an appointment for he and his partner to take a look and give me an estimate.  They were very kind and listened to what I had in mind.  They walked the yard and made some suggestions and gave me what  considered a fair estimate.  We made another date for them to do the work.  They adjusted their schedule so that it could be done quickly as I had potential renters who wanted to see the house.  Their work was excellent and the yard looks SO much better.  They also discovered that my sprinkler timer was actually broken and would require a second trip to fix.  Again, they volunteered to stop by on a Sunday afternoon to fix it ASAP.  I also ended up hiring them for a regularly scheduled maintenance.  They were both very nice, responsive, honest (which is key for me) and hard working.  They were wonderful!  I would definitely recommend F & H Landscaping and look forward to working with them in the future!

Excellent.  Malachi and his team arrived promptly on Tuesday.  They worked over 12 hours on the backyard, including removing old, dead plants, then planting new ones, including 3 citrus trees.  New quarter-minus rock was added and leveled throughout the backyard. <br /> They returned a second day to remove the dead tree from the front yard, and planted a new one.  Malachi researched what type of three the new one should be, based on issues we had with the old one.  Extremely pleasant and knowlegable about Phoenix plants.

F&H Landscaping was just one of several landscaping companies I contacted about my problem. Every single company that came out told me I needed to overhaul my entire yard, at a cost of several thousand dollars! Only F&H really acted squarely and honestly with me. They did not try to sell me a huge, expensive service that I didn't really need. I feel that I can trust these young guys with my yard care with honesty and quality work.

I received a bid for my yard service and it was very fair.  I had F&H do the aeration on Monday as a one time service and then they started biweekly service the following Thursday. I am pleased at their work and find that they are quite fair as to cost.  I look forward to a long relationship with them.

So far, so good. After a bit of confusion on the initial contact- evidently a very small company and the guy was on vacation- they came and did the initial 2 hours work, concentrating on the front yard. The yard looks better than it has in years. We wanted them to stick around and do some more work (the Deal quoted a price for additional work) but they were too booked up to do it. Now we start the bi-weekly visits.We have small front and back yards so we hope they will gradually get some of the basic work we needed completed. If the level of service is as good as the initial visit we will be very pleased with the decision to go with them. <br /> <br /> 5/23/12: they have been out doing the bi-weekly maintenance and yard looks good. bushes are well trimmed and area is cleaned up. we are going to want them to do a little additional work around back... we will see how that goes. <br /> <br /> 08/17/13: company is evidently out of business. They supposedly handed their contracts over to another company, Stark Contrast out of Phoenix, without telling anyone.

Everything went as planned -- always on time, friendly, courteous, and did exactly what I wanted. Offered suggestions when asked, and completed the job on time and everything looks great! Couldn't ask for better. I would not go with anyone else.

I moved here in Dec. & hired & fired 2 other landscape  maint. companies. I went to Angie's List, found Malachi & Bobby in March & am thrilled w/ their work. They seem to know all there is to know about yards as well as plants & sprinkling systems. I have decided to take advantage of their special 1 yr. weekly contract. It is an offer I can't refuse!

Everything we discussed was done including removal of the grass trimmings, tree branches and weed debris. I also asked them to perform recurring yard care which is done as requested.

Malichi answered my call and came out the same day for an estimate. We had some time pressure due to an upcoming gathering at our home and the two person team was able to come out the next day to do the job. Front and back yards look great.  Nice team and very professional job. Seem to have lots of experience.

Overall an awesome experience and will be using this company again.

They arrived on time, worked hard and completed everything I thought to ask them to do.

They were courteous and left the yard well groomed. They also provided my wife with an estimate to trim and shape our large Mesquite tree as well as our other shrubbery. I would highly recommend F & H Landscaping to my friends and neighbors.Their prices are very reasonable and they do excellent work. I definitely plan to use them again for all my yard maintenance.

<p>I have repeatedly used this contractor and have been very happy with their work each time.  The two young men arrive on time are polite and neatly dressed in appropriate attire for the type of work they perform.  They work quickly, always clean up the site and check for approval on the jobs completion</p> I plan to use this contractor at least semi annually to perform the major yard maintenance not only on my house but on my rental properties

F&H Landscaping was great.  Gave me a proposal when requested and did the work later that work.  Their work looked great and was a great value!

They were easy to contact over the phone and was always very professional. He waited on me, then Malachi took the time to go over everything going on in the entire yard. He had no problem giving everything a clean bill of health, even if it meant spending the time with me and not recommending and services. In fact, he went so far as to explain why I didn't need to spend any money on anything.
