Finely Finished Woodworking

I'll start by saying I chose Matt because of the reviews here on Angie's List and the photographs of his work on his web site. Matt doesn't come cheap, and we did have significantly lower bids for this job. We felt that these built-ins were going into our great room and needed to look good, like a piece of furniture. We felt confident that Matt could deliver the quality craftsmanship we wanted for this project, and decided the extra cost was justified. Matt suggested a bench under each window with storage and doors below and a Cherry top (seat) on the benches. We decided on a scribed fit against the fireplace, which meant Matt would have to cut the bookshelves to mate with the rock fireplace. Matt shared his plan to build the bookshelves in his shop, described the materials being used and the process he would use to paint the exposed surfaces, gave us a rough date for completion and assured us we would be happy with the result. On installation day, he showed up with his partner Josh and each took a side of the fireplace to work on. They spent the entire day installing our built-ins, and even had to finish up a few details on the following day. My wife and I couldn't be happier with the result. The built-ins look great, and have that quality furniture look we hoped for. The sprayed on lacquer finish is awesome and durable. What an improvement in the room!

Went well and on time Matt and Josh are excellent carpenters that provide a lot of experience and advice thru the whole process.

I have an issue with the installation job. The door handle hits the cabinet every time I open it.

They did not follow the design. I asked for four shelves he gave me three shelves. It is not enough room for my project and the shelving is farther apart than I asked for. He changed the design without consulting me.

Matt and Josh came to measure and gave us suggestions to improve the beauty of our kitchen. They suggested wider doors and crown molding. These really added to the overall appearance of our kitchen. They came the day and time we agreed on. All the construction work was done at their shop. The installation was completed in one day. They were both friendly and very professional. Our kitchen is beautiful and we would not hesitate to use them again. <br />

In the event that we need a carpenter in the future, there is no doubt that we will call them again. <br />

These guys are stellar! The kitchen work turned out exactly the way I wanted. They are real professionals. The work was done in a very short time. Added plus...they were fun to work with. <br />

Matt came, took measurements, gave us suggestions on size and style of trim, and provided an estimate.  Later he came back with samples so we could be sure of what we wanted before materials were ordered.  Matt & Josh did all the work in a day.  Both were friendly, energetic and did all the work very carefully with great attention to detail.  They also took time and fixed a sticky front door while they were at the house.  Overall, I was very happy with the process and results. <br />

We could not be more pleased. The craftsmanship and attention to detail are superb. The room has been completely transformed.   <br /> The ceiling and rail moldings, which were primarily to hide wires, have become eye grabbing architectural details.  Also, there were no surprises. The job was completed on time and on budget. Matt and Joshua are professionals. They cared not only about their work, but our home, too. They showed up on time, were pleasant to be around, and left our home as clean as they found it.  We're already planning other things with them. We cannot give a higher recommendation. <br />

Matt and Josh were excellent to work with in every way.  They were personable, professional, and very good communicators.  It was apparent that both truly care about doing quality work.  Any time I had a question they were responsive.   <br /> We couldn't be happier with the results.  Matching the look of the distressed white cabinets that already existed in the house was not easy, but the additions look great.  The doors they created for under the kitchen sink are the greatest testimony to how well the new work fits in with the old - no one seeing our kitchen would suspect those doors haven't been there as long as the others around them. <br /> They really listened to our concerns and cared about meeting our needs.  We wanted the cabinetry around and over the washer and dryer done in such a way that, when necessary, we could still conveniently access the fixtures in back or remove the units.  A lot of thought was put into making sure the final design did just that. <br /> I would use Finely Finished Woodworking again and highly recommend them.   <br /> <br /> <br />

The  provider met customer at customer's home to measure, offer suggestions, and measure for laundry room cabinets.  The provider suggested a fold down folding table to maximize the use of the laundry room space. Great idea! The provider was very punctual in emailing quote, and answered questions regarding the job.  Once the customer awarded the job to provider, the provider gave an approximate install date.  The provider called to inform provider of the exact install date, and the provider installed  cabinets in a timely manner.  The quality of the install was excellent, and the price was competitive. <br /> Several days following the install, the provider called customer to ask if the expectations were met. I very much appreciated the excellent customer service! <br /> Without any reservation, I recommend Finely Finished Working because of quality workmanship, excellent customer service, and competitive pricing. <br />

The word "SUPERB" does not completely describe their work.  Not only are they wood workers, they are artisans with their work, and their attention to detail again was suberb.  The drawers were hand-made with specific hardware that allows the drawers to close automatically.  The sliding drawers for the computer and the printer are sturdy and very user-friendly.  The crown molding was hand routed, and the cabinet facia is beautiful.  The master bedroom closet is extremely user-friendly and made to fit our specific needs.  You could not find better furniture made anywhere else.  The cost of their work and material - the return on our investment - is well worth it!  In fact, prior to contracting with FFW Inc, we explored a number of bids for our needs, including looking at a number of well-known furniture stores, and we could not find anyone else who could professionally meet our needs with a can-do spirit, friendly,and were never satisfied with "nothing less than perfection"! <br />

, <br /> Matt communicated in a timely fashion, and was very organized.  At our first meeting with Matt we could tell this was someone who  loved his work and cared about providing quality work.  He listened to what we wanted and then made several suggestions.  When we received the quote for the work we knew that he was the man for the job. I appreciated that I was able to communicate with him by phone, text, and email.  <br />   Matt and his assistant, Josh were warm, personable and professional.  When they arrived I instantly felt very comfortable and knew that they would make our vision for our home a reality.   They quickly set up shop in our driveway using their trailer  as base for the operation.  They even erected a tent for shelter from the rain. They went to work and wasted no time yet always were available if I had a question or comment.  They were respectful of our two cats. <br />    I was impressed with their efficiency,  attention to details and craftsmanship.  The final results were very satisfactory and every thing from start to finish was exactly as promised.  We look forward to having Matt and Josh back for future projects. <br /> <br /> <br />

Honestly, I don't know what I would have done without him.  Matt is highly competent, reliable, and creative.  He's also a really great guy to work with.  My kitchen is the envy of the neighborhood <br />

So, we contacted three contractors from Angie's List. At of the three Matt came in with a price that was right in the middle of all three. We were very specific in the details that required Matt to deliver the wood painted in high gloss white and the three beams to be stained in walnut with a high gloss finish. He brought along "John" his helper who was also knowlegeable.  Now, to install the tounge and groove bead board, it had to run a certain way - length wise - so Matt installed the 2X4's first that would hold the walnut beams, and then there was allot of cutting to do for the bead boards.  Towards the end of the deck, their is an angle that required exact measurements and also allot of cutting of the boards.  The deck had a sheet rock ceiling so the boards had to be glued and nailed in place. Additionally, after the bead board was installed, crown molding was installed throughout the whole celing. It really looks great. Now, after the deck was finished, Matt installed picture molding under our chair rail in the kitchen. Then he installed some crown molding (7"1/2") in the entrance way to the garage.  It should be noted that after all the boards and molding was installed, he had to come back and cover all the nail holes and paint so we had a completed and finished look. <br /> He is a great craftsman and he taught me allot about the skill set that he has. He has done allot of work also in the commercial area in various hotels, rest, etc that I went to see. He has a great personality, and is easy to work with. I also noticed that he estimated the right amount of material to use on the job with very limited waste.  He has a trailer that he brought to the site and everything that he needed was right on the job site. The trailer was so well orgainized, it was amzing. <br /> I would definitely use him again for any job !!!! He could probably get a job in the TV program "This Old House" due to his knowlege and skill set. I also like his energy which was noted going up and down a ladder - 1000's of time a day !! He is normally booked out 6-8 weeks at a time, but worth the wait. <br />

They were excellent. Came in and did everything asked. They are very good priced and quality of the work is excellent.

Upon contacting Matt, I asked if he was available for small jobs, which he advised that he was and that he had an hourly rate. We agreed upon a scheduled date and time for him to perform the work and that he would call prior to arrival so that I could get my pets put up and out of the way.  Matt arrived as scheduled and installed cabinet door. He then went around and tightened all the screws on all the cabinet doors as an added precaution. <br /> <br /> I found Matt to be very professional and pleasant to do business with.  I  would certainly recommend him to anyone who has a need for his service.
