The approximate cost was $1300. The guys were nice. But the paint job isn't holding up that well. From the wall were my alarm is when the wall gets touch the paint is coming off. I don't think they did do a primer. It's not holding up I can see were it needs to be touched up in hallway and the laundry room where they painted and same in the kitchen. They were kind of in a hurry so they didn't spend time on prep. That's the kind of comment I will make to future customer. It looks good but they don't do a lot of prep. There were areas that have to be touched up.  It's not even a full year yet. They kind of want to get in and out.  Initially he came in with a price. He verbally gave me quotes for each room and because I am a female. He went outside to his truck to come back with the final bill and it was 3 times than what he said for each room. I say to him I guess I have to give you a not so great review on Angie's List because the quote and the integrity of all that is part of why I use Angie's List. When I said that he called me back and said oh I'm so sorry I don't know what I was thinking. That wasn't the quote I wanted to give you. I am like oh my god if I hadn't said that this guy will be taking me to the cleaners. They were on time. They were professional.

Bill and the rest of the Fine Point team were incredible. <br /> They sanded and repainted a large kitchen with stained oak cabinets. Since the oak didn't take the paint like other woods, they applied an extra coat of primer and and extra finishing coat to make sure that it looked the way we hoped. They used a spray, which helped give the cabinets a professional, uniform coat. They look fantastic. <br /> When the paint dried, some of the cabinets didn't close properly. This is not a criticism?when we told Bill, he came by the next day to fix those that were misaligned (which could have happened in any project), so the final kitchen looked perfect. <br /> The whole team was really friendly. They put in extra hours to make sure the job was done well, and honored their initial estimate, which was completely reasonably compared to some estimates we received. <br /> They touched up several areas of the house. When we couldn't find a matching paint for the upstairs bathroom, Bill repainted the entire wall with another paint, and he did it for a nominal fee. <br /> What can I say? The team was patient with us as clients, thorough with the job, and masters of the craft. Our house looks fantastic, and I'd hire them or recommend them in a heartbeat. <br />

Bill and his team did a FANTASTIC job painting our new home that was in need of some bright new paint.  The walls were in pretty awful shape with lots of dings, drywall issues, some walls needing wall paper removal not to mention the crown molding either needing to be replaced or smoothed out.  Bill came for an estimate right away when I contacted him (accommodating after work hours) and spent a lot of time with me discussing how he'd do the job and explaining different aspects of painting to me. I had a lot of questions and he was patient and so informative.  He also happily came back out to the house to answer follow up questions before he started the job. <br /> He arrived with his crew on time right when he said he'd start the job and they finished on time in 4 days. I couldn't believe the amount of prep work they did to get the walls in good shape to paint and in the end, it looks amazing. Everyone compliments me on what a great job they did and how good the house looks now- it's amazing what paint can do! <br /> Bill is so knowledgeable and is always happy to answer your questions.   He also will let you proceed as you planned without complaint (I really wanted to use BM colors vs. color matching to Behr paint) and go the extra mile to make sure you are happy with the job in the end.  He even spaced out painting the bedrooms so I'd have somewhere to sleep each night! <br /> The tape job they did to make sure none of our stuff was damaged was impressive and they cleaned up so well. His crew is friendly, professional, and I had no problem letting them come into the house each day while we were at work to do the job. <br /> We will have them back to do some other paints jobs we have planned, but we so happy we found Bill and his team! <br />

"Thank-you so much for taking the time and writing a wonderful review for us. We strive very hard to please our customers, therefore I am only happy when my customers are happy. It was a pleasure meeting you and your husband and also working for you. I am very sorry if you felt that my responsiveness was a B and will try my very best to improve in the future. I hope the both of you will enjoy your new house for many years to come. Best wishes, Bill P."

<hr /> We highly recommend Fine Point Painting. This is the third time we have hired them and we were always satisfied. Bill is professional, courteous and honest. He explained exactly what he would do and did it. His workers were very neat and careful and did not get any paint on our windows or driveway. They were always punctual and polite and did every bit of work on our contract. Bill?s rates are reasonable and he offers good advice on what really needs to be done. He uses premium quality paint?s and shows up frequently to inspect the work and answer any questions. When we called him, he was friendly and informative. Since we live in a Victorian home we wanted to make sure the work was done properly and we were very pleased with the end result.  <br /> <br /> <br />

Aside from having them fully paint the interior of our home, I had Fine Point Painting perform exterior painting. Bill guided us <br /> <br /> towards the right color scheme to paint our house. <br /> <br /> They, scraped, sanded, patched, spot primed, caulked and elastomeric patched all the cracks. Once again, they did a fantastic job on the exterior as well as the interior.

I was recommended to Fine Point Painting by my parents. In the past my parents had bad luck with contractors who gave meaning to the term, Jack of All Trades Master at None. I grew up doubting contractors but Bill and his crew were fantastic. When he came out to do the bid he answered all of my questions and was thorough on explaining to me the reasons. When I had additional questions/concerns he was quick to reply via email. <br /> The house we purchased to put it nicely, was in bad shape. Previously, it was a rental which I'm sure you can imagine the state <br /> it was in. It also had termite damage in which Bill advised me to have the paint job done after the fumigation tenting. Apparently, <br /> fumigation causes fresh paint to peel!!! Thank goodness we painted after the tenting. <br /> We had the whole works done on the interior. The acoustic popcorn on the ceiling was removed, sanded, textured, primed, and <br /> painted throughout the house. Also, the trim, doors and cabinets had oil based paint which needed to be sanded and primed in order for the latex paint to stick. The walls were sanded as well to remove embedded hair follicles and pebbles that were painted in the walls from the previous painter. Most of the interior of the house and entire garage smelled of animal urine and they pressure washed the garage with a cleaning solution to eliminate the smell. There were numerous cracks on the walls and ceilings which they filled. There were also 8 giant holes in the walls that they patched. They did an amazing job on the patchwork since you can't tell they were there!!! His crew was professional, courteous and they came on time. Also, they cleaned up after themselves very well. And this is coming from someone who is borderline OCD. <br /> There were no hidden fees or added fees tacked on at the end. What made it easier for us was a payment plan which was broken down into 3 payment installations. This meant we paid them after each chunk of work was completed. I have heard stories where people have paid contractors upfront and the contractors run away with money or they don't finish the project. <br /> If Angie's List had +'s and -'s I would give them A+'s. There are no words to express how pleased we are with Fine Point Painting. Our house looks amazing, the garage has no smell and I will hire them again for future projects. <br /> <br /> <br />

The second day they came, I needed to get some additional paint.  They got there about eight in the morning, they painted for two and a half hours then they went to lunch while I went to go out and get some paint and went back for forty-five minutes.  They were finished around 2:30pm.  I got about six hours’ worth, I didn't realized that my sons room needed patch up, after they left unfortunately I could have used some painting so I didn't get my full nine hours’ worth and that was really disappointing and that was my frustration there.

<p>The suggestion was 3 gallons of paint per room. They used 1 1/2 on each room. Paint is not returnable so be sure you check with your paint distributor and have the square footage so you don't end up with more paint than you need.<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /></p> <p>Since when is half a door a door? On their extra charges, where I'm sure they make their money on these jobs, they quoted $75 extra per door. That only covered 1 side of the door! So ask lots of questions concerning the extra charges rather then just the walls for your job.</p> <p>I had asked if they could "texture" the walls and was told no. So, I bought some Homex texturing spray on line and did it myself. It was great and relatively easy. The painters however told me that they could have textured and that they had indeed done it before???</p> <br />
Response from Fine Point Painting
"The COUPON was for painting 2 Bedrooms for $350, WALLS ONLY. It was detailed out in the fine print so you knew this when you purchased it. Anything else, (door jambs, casing, doors) is an added extra charge since it s not covered in the coupon deal. This was explained to you, and you said you understood from our email correspondence. A coupon, is totally different from a bid. In your response, you claimed I'm making a lot of money off of this. Let me break it down to you. My painters that were there are paid hourly at $25 and $17 an hour. Angie's list takes 25% of the coupon amount. Meaning, I'm left over with $262.50 to paint two rooms. Paper, tape, plastic...$40. Do the math, IM NOT MAKING ANY MONEY OFF THIS. It just keeps my workers busy for that one day. I never recommended the amount of paint to you. Check your emails. I would NEVER recommend 3 gallons of paint, for a regular size room of walls only. Thats insane. I think you got confused with asking a paint associate from the store from me. The coupon, was NOT for texturing, it was for painting WALLS ONLY. I told you I could texture it for an extra amount but you wanted to texture it using small spray cans that you buy from Home depot. Those are only MEANT for small areas that are patched. Anybody who knows anything about texturing, knows you DON'T USE small orange peel texturing cans to texture all 4 your WALLS IN EACH ROOM. I told you I would bring a hopper gun thats connected to a compressor to texture your room correctly. Then it would have to be primed, then painted to be done right but you didn't want to pay the extra cost. You refused and said you would do it yourself. In which you did and it looked unprofessional because it is NOT supposed to be done that way. Painting is not going to fix an unprofessional texturing job you did on top of the skip trowel texture that originally existed. You had my crew paint over your texturing job with low quality grade paint, and no primer. It took three coats to cover. The B quality came from your texturing job. Paint is NOT going to fix your B quality texturing job. You NEVER use “SPRAY CANS” to texture your WALLS in your rooms. I charged $50 (NOT $75 as stated in customers review) to paint the door inside the room. Outside the room is your hallway, which you did not tell us to paint. I did not charge you to paint the casing trim around the door, so you saved $70. Additionally, the coupon was for SANTA CLARA COUNTY ONLY. Your area was an hour and half drive away. We didn't charge you the added extra fee, which is normally $100 more. You did not inquire about the coupon and just purchased it, assuming it was for your area. As far as ratings, you gave us a B for quality, one painter that was there has over 17 years of experience while the has over 4. The rating of “B” for quality is ridiculous. The B quality came from your unprofessional texturing job, not from our painting (since it was painted 3 coats). Don't try to do it yourself and link the “B” quality to our paint job from the flaws in your walls. Second, you gave a B for pricing in which I broke it down and showed you how I make no money. Thirdly, on punctuality you gave us a B when YOU were 10 minutes late to the job site because you were out doing laundry, leaving my painters waiting for you. You gave me a B for responsiveness, but I responded back to every one of your emails. Professionalism everything was explained to you. Everything was taped off. My painters were courteous. So why the B? Lastly, I will no longer offer these coupons since 70% of customers understand them and the other 30% are just confused."

I am very impressed with Bill and his team of painters. We contacted Bill on very short notice to paint the interior of our new loft that we were scheduled to move into that same week. Without hesitation, Bill scheduled an appointment to come out and bid the job. He showed up promptly as scheduled and delivered an extremely reasonable bid. Additionally, he was willing to work with our schedule, which meant he and his team would be there the next day ? unreal. Bill reviewed the colors we had chosen and advised us on paint selection and finishes, including helping us get a 15% discount on the paint. Bill and his team of painters showed up the next evening after working a full day on another project, but that didn?t stop their determination to get the job done. They worked all night to accommodate our schedule and finished the job on time. The paint totally transformed the loft and the finishes Bill advised us to purchase worked out great. We are incredibly pleased with the quality of work, service levels and price. Thank you again. <br />

I saw their deal on this site and called Bill to get more information. He quickly assessed my project and scheduled my paint job for less than a week later. Bill and his team arrived today and did a great job. They prepped very neatly and carefully and did a great job cleaning up after a job well done. The job took less time than expected so Bill even sanded and primed a piece of furniture I wanted to paint. Very happy with the whole experience.

Bill from Fine Point Painting first stopped by to perform an estimate. I am a newbie when it comes to painting jargon so Bill was quite helpful in his explanation of the various sheen types (flat, satin, eggshell, semi gloss etc.) and which sheen would look good in which areas. I also discussed a couple of options with him (like should I paint the ceilings or not) and he was again quite helpful with his suggestions. <br /> He sent me the estimate the next morning and it was a very competitive price so I decided to go for it. The work was for 3 painters for 2 days and I used the Angie's list coupons. <br /> On both days, Bill and team showed up very promptly. There were thorough professionals and knew exactly what to do. They bunched up all the furniture and covered it, covered the floors, removed the wall panels for all plug points in the wall, removed curtains. They cleaned all surfaces, patched holes, spot primed the patches and did a great job with the painting. The job was completed on time and I am very impressed with the quality of work. <br /> I will definitely hire them again (thinking of painting the bedrooms and bathrooms next as well as the exterior) <br />

It was the first time that I used this company and I had a good experience with them. They're very good and they have good pricing. They were quick to get back to me. I bought a 8 hour day of painting and they worked very hard all day. They gave me painting tips for the painting I was gonna do myself and gave me their contractor code so I could get a discount on my paint. They got back with me on everything. It's very, very good company. They're gonna come back next week for exterior painting.

Bill was great to work with. He's very friendly, willing to explain things and worked hard to come up with a solution for OUR needs. We had a hard move-in deadline that was only one week away, and Bill's crew miraculously pulled it off.  <br /> I spoke with Bill several times by phone to establish the appointment and discuss options. He was always very friendly and it's obvious that he has a passion for his work - very knowledgeable and interested in the details. We established price and timing, and he handled all matters related to purchasing the paint and materials. The crew always arrived on time and never appeared to slack off. Every single day they put in longer hours than was included in the invoice. They were very polite and nice guys, and got the work done so fast it made our heads spin. <br /> In terms of the work that was done, they pressure washed the exterior and painted both body and trim. On the interior (master bedroom), they put up new drywall and patched some damaged existing drywall, then textured and painted the entire room. They also put in new trim, painted the window trim, moved a few outlets back into the wall and many other details that weren't even in the bid. That's just how Bob works. He wants to do a good job and make customers happy. They came back a few days later for routine touch-ups on the exterior, and spent hours making sure that every last detail was right! <br /> I would definitely recommend Fine Point Painting to anyone, and will use them in the future if the need arises. <br />

Bill and another painter came to the house the day prior to the date the house was to be painted.  There were four rooms to be painted and all had 11' ceilings including a picture rail.  They used blue tape and a vast amount of plastic to cover everything.  The next morning a crew of 4 painters including Bill showed up promptly.  The job started a 8:00am and was finished at 7:00pm including cleanup.  They applied primer and two colors coats on the walls and ceilings.  The were two colors used on the walls with an accent color for the picture rail.  The crew never seemed to slow down or stop except for lunch.  All the painters were friendly and assisted each other in a team effort.  It took two painters most of the day to paint the kitchen.  We will be calling them back to do the other rooms in the house.  The cost of the job was as estimated.  Very good good for a very reasonable price. <br />

Did a terrible job. <br />
Response from Fine Point Painting
"WHAT? ARE YOU SERIOUS??!! Why didn't you explain what we did that was so terrible?! Angie's List customers please note that Customer DID NOT EXPLAIN just how terrible a job myself and my company did. Don't you think this to be strange and odd? Customer also falsified pricing and put $2,400 was paid when in reality it was $1,275. Since Angie's List gives an invoice list of customers who purchased coupons, I have this as proof. What I don't get is that customer wrote we did a “terrible job,” yet when she asked us to correct mistakes her boyfriend made when he tried to paint, she was happy. We did this for free and did not charge them. The only thing that was terrible was when you wanted me to fix your boyfriend's terrible paint job for free. The other terrible thing was me accepting this job because you wanted everything done for free. You added extra work, nickel and dimed me. You eyeballed my paint job up and down and an inch away from the wall. I admit that I'm a picky person and my paint jobs are always perfect as you can find in my honest reviews. This customer wanted my paint job to fix her horrible drywall repair that she recently had done by a different company for free. Cosmetically, if you paint your broken fingernails, the paint is NOT going to fix your BROKEN NAIL. If my paint job was so terrible, then why did you ask me to paint the ceiling in the master bedroom after the fact? Of course she wanted that painted for free and when I gave her an additional work quote, she went berserk. This customer would take my helpers behind my back and have them clean the paint mess her and her boyfriend left on the cabinets, floors etc. when they themselves painted the kitchen. I personally went to the job site countless of times at Flora Lu's "request" to perform these so called "touch ups" only to find out they were finger prints left by her and her boyfriend when he changed the light bulb!!!! There was even bloody finger prints. I finally had enough and told her that the job is done and that she couldn't keep calling my company every single time she or her boyfriend left finger prints on the wall !!!!!!' After all the added extra work I did for free and the countless times I went to this customers house to satisfy her, I can't believe she would leave this falsified review.... I ended up painting baseboards, closets, casings, windowsills, though out the house with zero profit. Another falsified statement was she paid $2400..??? I wish. $900 was the total amount I got paid for 5 painters, 2 days, 10 to 11 hours a day. and the other 3 days I came by myself for supposedly touch ups. Bottom line - I leave my jobs clean and impeccable. This was the reason why I went to her house so many times... Coming back for finger print touch ups that they kept leaving was getting a little redundant and not fair. My grades. I got a B for pricing, Hmmm. I made no money and came out my pocket $82.00. Not sure how that grade works. Quality....F.... then why couldn't she explain in the review what was terrible about it? False. My responsiveness an A but my punctuality an F? If I recall, I WAITED A few times for her to get home. My punctuality, I was always on time. so that was false. My professionalism....99%of the times she wasn't even home till the last hour of the day at 9pm at night. There were never any issues about my employees or anything. We just worked so thats false. I believe in karma, so what goes around comes around!"
