Firefighter Tree Service

After contacting the Firefighter Tree Service, we received a return phone call from Dennis (owner) within 10 minutes and made an appointment for the next day for an estimate. His estimate was very reasonable and work was scheduled for the next morning. The crew arrived right on time and had our big job done in record time. Everything was cleaned up properly. The crew was very professional and easy to work with. Excellent - on time, great price, very professional crew!

The service was good.

Removed Trees and did some trimming. They do a great job. Showed up on time and the work was done at a fair price.

2nd: I asked them to cut it more but to also give them proper pointy shape - they did cut them in most incredibly sloppy meaner. NO SHAPE AT ALL! 3rd: They've promised (twice) to comeback to fix it. they never did 4rd: They charged me to clean-up the fallen tree. But left an ugly uncut stomp. When asked they've told me that cutting it is separate job. which is something good business would be upfront about.

Through a minor misunderstanding, the stump of the yucca tree was not ground down far enough. I called Dennis and after we established contact, he returned to complete the job to my satisfaction. <br />

Like a lot of my reviews, this one regards a service provided to my HOA, which I as a board-member I had a hand in deciding a contract award. <br /> Our property is a small 30 year old condo development on 2.6 acres in north San Jose. Our property has a mix of European Birch, Valley Oak, Coastal Redwood, Liquidambar, and Holly Oak trees. When we had arborists recently on the property to give an evaluation of things, they indicated our property over-planted and that correct pruning of our trees has not occurred. What service we have had has not provided for proper health, safety, and longevity of our trees. Previous landscaping crews had taken nips at pruning from the ground and roof, but the crews did not go into canopies and provide definitive cutting and thinning. It became apparent that the remedial and extensive pruning necessary could leave many of our trees rather unattractive for two to three years, but we had to make the right decisions for the trees, not necessarily for short-term appearances. <br /> As per our HOA guidelines, we obtained bids from four licensed contractors, to include Dennis and his Firefighter Tree Service crew. The bid from Dennis was not the least expensive (second lowest), but he promised more regarding an effort at sticking with artistic pruning than all the others, despite the neglected condition of our trees. Our contract was $19,500 in total, with 60% of the property completed in the fall of 2012 and the remaining 40% in the Spring of 2013. In addition to pruning, services from Firefighter included felling several trees, stump grinding, and removing waste. <br /> As others have stated, Dennis is very hands on and I would say he was present 90-95% of the time his crew was working our site. His absences were for things to support the job. The Firefighter crew was polite to our residents, and moved at a good clip though our property, leaving things cleaner than when they started. <br /> We will be having Firefighter Tree Service provide any other needs we might encounter, especially since Dennis has a great record of response time if you have some kind of emergency. And to provide a happy ending to things, we did not have to wait the 2-3 years anticipated for our substantially corrected trees to have a fine appearance. The trees look balanced and appear better than ever. <br />

I called 3 companies for bids, and FIREFIGHTER was the best of the 3. He arrived shortly after I called, and started to cut the tree. He brought some workers back in the afternoon, and the tree was removed, and the area was cleaned up. Great company, and I'd use them again, if the need arises. <br /> <br />
