Very happy with Eric and his crew. Floor was damaged with a lot of gouges and old work that needed to be repaired before coating. Prep work was thorough with a full day of grinding. Flakes were densely applied and even. Coatings are polyaspartic which is superior to epoxy. I think the final product looks great! Follow up service was also very good.

I was happy with the work First Class Coatings recently did in installing the epoxy finish to our garage floor. However, when the owner came by to inspect the job, he pointed out a very slight color/shade difference from one side of the garage to the other. I could barely see the difference even with him pointing it out to me. Nevertheless, owner Eric Marks insisted on sending his crew back the next morning to redo the entire job. It came out perfect. Eric did not charge us a penny for that do over. My wife and I are impressed with our new floor, and especially the business ethics of Eric Marks.

I contacted a number of garage epoxy floor companies for my approximately 800 square foot garage in Scottsdale. I selected First Class Coating for several reasons including cost, experience and professionalism. Eric from First Class clearly explained my various options and concisely answered my many questions. They were timely and efficient in completing the work. I am extremely happy with the job they did, and trust me I am not an easy person to please. My garage floors were in poor condition and it seemed like getting them epoxied would be the easiest option, plus I liked the aesthetics. I didn't really have a lot of time to research products and techniques so I just ended up choosing a company that I though had fair prices and had good reviews. Well long story short I kept calling them and emailing them days before I was scheduled to try to change the service date and they never responded. I was so fed up with their lack of response that I decided to waste more time finding another company instead. I hopped on yelp to send out messages to different companies about my project and Eric (owner) from First Class Coatings was the first to respond to me. Within a few minutes we were on the phone discussing my project. He gave me a lot of insight into the products they used and their techniques, and I certainly appreciated his prompt response. I still decided to get a few more quotes from other reputable companies before jumping the gun since choosing hastily caused me problems in the first place. After talking to a few more companies and gathering more information, I decided to work with Eric since we had spoken about my small project several times on the phone already, and I could feel that he was sincere and knowledgeable. I finally felt like I was in good hands and didn't expect any issues with not being called back. His crew came out Monday morning and worked all day grinding and patching up my floors and stem walls. Before they left that day the first layers were down. The next day they came back and finished up the following layers, Eric was there to inspect and wrap up. We went with a full chip floor to hide some of the more egregious imperfections, and I am very happy with how they turned out. No one needs to know how bad they looked beforehand...no one... Overall I'm super glad to have found First Class Coatings and saved myself the headache of dealing with an inferior company who won't even respond. Any homeowner can attest that contracting work is time consuming and no one wants to deal with problems, let alone paying for those problems. I'll definitely use their company for the next house we buy if we stay in AZ. Just the time I save will be worth it. Eric has been doing this for a long time and it shows. Take a look at my pictures at my awesome floors! before shot included. I loved the color, and it didn't turn out as busy as I thought it would be. But for the life of me I can't remember what it was called. A few side notes and tips 1. the flakes end up everywhere, on lawns, landscape rocks, and inside cabinets even. Be ready to vacuum the insides of your cabinets. 2. make sure you talk through the process and details with the crew that comes out if they weren't the ones you talked to in the beginning. Things get lost in translation. A joint I didn't intend to have worked on got worked on, and the toe kicks on the cabinets I asked to be done weren't. It wasn't a big deal since they just did them at the end when I pointed it out. That's a lesson for me as well since I try not to hover when people are working.

We did our research and interviewed several garage floor companies before deciding on First Class Coatings. First Class Coatings does the job over a 2-3 day period which is the best way to do it. I would suggest not hiring a company that does the job in 1 day. Eric and his crew were great to work with. We kept changing our minds on the color, and Eric came over several times. He ended up doing a custom color of grays and tans which we love! We have a small odd shaped closet with a lot of non-removable stuff in it (water softener and salt container) and they epoxied it perfectly by hand. We couldn’t be more pleased with Eric and First Class Coatings!

First Class Coating came highly recommended from a family friend. After getting a number of quotes and meeting with other vendors I contracted with Eric of First Class Coating to coat our three-car garage. Their quote was competitive with other vendors but it was Eric’s attention to detail and desire to find the best solution that won the day. Eric worked with me to meet my schedule and even after I had an unexpected delay to was able to work his schedule to keep me on track. The crew showed up on time and focused on getting the job done and did an excellent job in preparing the garage. The project was scheduled for three days and it was finished on time. The end product looked fantastic and we are very happy with the result. The entire process was professionally done with little fuss and mess. They cleaned up every day and left the garage spotless. Eric and his team did an amazing job. He analyzed all the different types of floor coatings available, listened to what I needed done and put together a package that was just what I needed. Starting with the meetings to determine what was needed, he was always available to answer questions and keep me updated on the process. The work was done on-time and at the agreed price. I originally phoned Eric, 4.5 years ago, during the build out of our veterinary clinic. I needed a matte finish, non-slip, easy clean, no grout and super durable (20 + years) floor. Eric came to my location, the same day, to explain the process and show me samples. Eric also directed me to another vet clinic, where I could see the very same floor I wanted. I was able to see for myself how the floor was holding up and talk to the people who used it everyday and were responsible for cleaning it. Eric was attentive to our timeline. His staff was courteous and professional. It’s no small task coordinating the timing of grinding and prepping the concrete, laying down the layers of concrete coating and getting the walls painted without trashing the paint or the floor. Eric made it happen, when it needed to happen. Recently, we had a small area in the floor, where the concrete itself bubbled and broke apart, which damaged the coating surface. Eric came and explained what happened. He fixed the floor in one, hassle free visit and it was covered by the warranty. We couldn’t be happier with First Class Coatings and our floor. I had a great experience with First Class Coatings. In the initial phone call Eric gave me a rough estimate of what I could expect based upon my estimate of garage size. He was careful to say that it was all dependent upon how rough the floor was and the actual measurements. I then met with him another day briefly to look at the various Epoxy options and colors and I made a selection from the samples in the back of his van. At the day of install his team showed up on time, prepped the floor completely in the morning and started putting down the floor in the PM. There was a previous seal on the floor so they evaluated what was there and made sure it could be sufficiently clean, sanded and able to be covered vs. grinding it off. They came back to put the sealer on day 2 and the result was just super nice! The entire team was professional all the way. I will say that the smell of the epoxy is pretty rough -- actually quite terrible during the dry time - but he warned me of that in advance. Just make sure you have good ventilation and don't plan to spend any time in the garage for a few days. The result is worth it. I'd highly recommend them.
