Joe Armstrong is a scam artist. I sent him $6900 to move me from Utah to California. He gambled the money away before he showed up to Utah. He showed up with $300 that is mother gave him, which was NOT enough for the move. Come to find out, he doesn't even have a driver license!!! ON TOP of the money I gave him, I had to shell out and extra $2000 to get moved in.... FROM HOME DEPOT DAY LABORERS THAT DIDN'T SPEAK ENGLISH!!! Joe LITERALLY sat at my table drinking MY beer whilst watching my NEW movers move me into my place, WHICH WAS HIS JOB!!! The guy is a bum. Hire him at your own risk. Not to mention, he broke an expensive lighting fixture, a television and ran over my office chair. He has YET to pay me back for ANY of this, even though he said he would.

"Hello [Member Name Removed], I apologize for inconvenience. It looks like this review has been placed under the wrong company. Our services are limited to the state of Missouri and we would have not quoted or moved you in Utah/California. If you could please remove this review and put it under the correct company, we would be grateful. Thank you."

Do NOT use this vendor!

Bought the $299 Big Deal through Angie's List. Picked the 3 dates to coordinate my move. Called the company several times at the number on the profile and couldn't even leave a message. After a couple of days of not being able to contact them, I called Angie's List and their customer service department tried to contact the vendor directly. They were successful and the next day the vendor, someone named Joe, called me to coordinate my move. We set up the date and time and he said they'd be there.

On the morning of the move, 2 young guys arrived at the office, said they were there to move us and said several times someone named 'Gerald' after a couple of times I asked them who they were talking about, and I told them that I had spoken with someone named Joe, and they said "Oh, is that his name? We were calling him Gerald" They didn't even know the name of who they were working for. These guys were young, early 20's and it was obvious that they had never moved anything before. I had to show them how to use the dolly, and then watch over them to redirect as they stacked things in the truck and on the dolly putting heavy stuff on top of light stuff, they knew absolutely nothing about moving.

Because of their inexperience, the move took a bit longer than anticipated and so instead of the 3 hours I had contracted with them for, we wound up using them for 4 hours which meant I needed to pay the contractor an hour of overtime. They called 'Joe' and said, 'Dude, is your name Joe? We were calling you Gerald" and they were laughing. I asked how do I pay him for the hour of overtime and Joe said that he would call me later to get my card information over the phone. I asked the guys - how is it you didn't know the name of your boss? haven't you ever met your boss? they replied that they just answered an ad on craig's list for moving help. They were not employees of First Class Movers and had never met Joe nor had they ever done work for him before. Needless to say I was not happy.

The best part is what happened the next day. One of the guys, he said his name was David, comes to my new office location the following afternoon and asks me if I know how to get a hold of Joe because they want to know how to get paid. I told him that I had no idea and that I had the same phone number he had and that I had already paid First Class Movers through Angie's List. He would need to be paid by First Class Movers. He said again that he had just answered an ad on Craig's List and that he had agreed to do work without ever meeting the person he was working for. He was upset that he had been calling and leaving messages for Joe and that he wasn't returning his calls. I told him that if I was him I would probably not be answering ads for work through Craig's List and doing work without knowing for sure he'd be paid, but that I wasn't paying him. He understood and left.

I called Joe again and left a message after David left my new office, but of course that was a week ago and he has never returned the call. If he does bother to return my call to have the nerve to ask for the hour of overtime, I will laugh heartily. This person is collecting money through Angie's List for services that he is getting complete strangers to do for him by answering ads on Craig's List and then not paying the poor schmucks who answer his ad. What a scam. Do NOT use this contractor.
Joe and his crew assessed everything that I wanted done. Joe took the time to understand my needs and what I wanted done. I had them come in and pack everything form the closets and cupboards. They were very efficient. Joe and his crew packed the truck so well, that there was room left for me to load my motorcycle, that was the main thing I was worried about. Joe's communiacation skills are second to none. I am very impressed on well the job went. I did not have to worry about Joe and his crew doing there job. I wouuld highly recommend them to move me again.
We were stressed out about the move. Joe took the time to assure us that everything would be taken care of. That was a nice feeling, because it let me concentrate on other things. We were in good hands the whole time. That type of service is very hard to find these days. The excellent service that Joe and his crew provided, makes you believe that there are trustworthy and helpful contractors out there. Thank You Joe and your crew for a very comfortable move.
