First Coast Climate Control

I first used First Coast Climate Control a couple years ago to help make my AC run better. I had a 5-ton system that was only able to do about half the work and the recommended duct work has made a huge difference in comfort & efficiency. I have had a couple other problems with my AC since then and am very pleased with how responsive they are. It's not uncommon for them to work late if that is what it takes to get the job done right.

I called Fist Coast Climate Control to come out and discuss replacing my old heat pump. Ed came and we talked about an hour going over the details of replacing my unit. Ed did not rush through the discussion and answered my many questions. Ed promptly sent an email showing the prices for several units. I went with a high efficiency 18 SEER Inverter and the crew that came to install were very professional. The follow up after the sale and install is a bonus. I have already recommended First Coast Climate Control to a co-worker.

Both the person answering the phone and I’m sorry I did not get her name and the technician Ed were awesome. Ed got the problem fixed and also looked at the other air-conditioning units and performed some maintenance on those as well. He was professional and polite and very understanding to the situation. I would highly recommend them and would definitely use them again.

I went to Home Advisor to find reputable firms to provide quotes on a new Heat Pump and its auxiliary equipment. Much to my surprise, they recommended only two firms. Since I was aware that this project would cost $3,000 or more, I decided to not limit my options to just two firms. Since the unit I would eventually purchase was replacing the builder’s grade unit that came with my new home, purchased in 2004, I contacted the firm that installed the original equipment and the firm that maintained that equipment for 13 of the 15 years. Apparently, unbeknownst to me, Home Advisor must have a pending jobs listing that other firms can check periodically in search of prospective customers, and two other firms contacted me directly requesting a chance to bid on my project and I happily accepted. The equipment being replaced was a Lennox 3 Ton 10 Seer unit. The units quoted were: Comfortmaker, 3 Ton 17.5 Seer, variable speed heat pump system Trane, 3 Ton 16 Seer, single stage heat pump system. Lennox, 3 Ton 16 Seer, single stage heat pump system. Carriage, 3 Ton 16 Seer, two stage heat pump system. Daikin VRV , 3 Ton 16 Seer, Variable stage heat pump system. Amana, 3 Ton 15 Seer, single stage heat pump system. After investigating contractor reputations and analyzing the specifications and weighing advantages/disadvantages versus price, I determined that my best option was the Daikin VRV unit. The contractor, 1st Coast Climate Control, LLC, has a first rate reputation with the BBB, Angie’s List and Home Advisor. Their representative, Ed Kitchen, is an excellent salesman and installer. He spent at least an hour pointing out all of the benefits of this particular unit. Of all the units quoted, theirs was the only heat pump that would easily fit in the confined space that my town home unit provided for installation. Unfortunately, during Ed’s presentation my wife was occupied elsewhere and when she returned home she requested that I ask him to do another presentation, he graciously came out to our home again and went through his presentation so that she would have the opportunity to learn about the new equipment and ask questions as they occurred to her. Daikin, a Japanese firm, is the World’s Largest Producer of Air Conditioning Systems. While in the military, I spent four years in Japan, and I witnessed the work ethic and dedication that workers invest for their employer. You will not find a more conscientious group of employees anywhere. Since we are one of first families in this city to have this particular unit installed, the Daikin’s Territorial Sales Manager, Fernando “Tito” Quintana, was on-site during the installation. He was very enthusiastic and assured us that his firm was invested in ensuring we are happy customers. Needless to say, the installation went smoothly, Ed and his crew worked diligently and cleaned up after themselves, leaving us with a stable and pleasantly cool environment at the end of the day. We are more than pleased with our selection, the equipment is silent and runs smoothly maintaining a consistently comfortable environment.

They provided a zoning solution for my two story house. Being able to control the air on each floor separately is a big plus. They gave expert advice and solutions I hadn't heard from other vendors. They also provided various options depending on how much I wanted to spend. Installed everything in one day, excellent work, very professional and did a great job cleaning up. Good communication and follow up. I would definitely recommend them.

Rasheed was our service consultant. He was punctual, very courteous, and knowledgable. We were getting maintenance on our AC’s and one was in need of some repairs. He took the time out to explain exactly what the problem was and why it was crucial for us to get it repaired now.

Rasheed called when he was on his way just as the office told me he would and he arrived right on time. He was extremely polite and professional. He took the time to explain what was the problem was and even told me what I could do to extend the life of my unit. My unit is about 10 years old and instead of trying to sell me a new one he told me about their maintenance plan which not only was extremely affordable but it offered many benefits as well. I am calling the office to request Rasheed to be our technician going forward and will recommend First Coast Climate Control to everyone I know.

Ed, Alex, all of them - after 3+ months passed - taking this time for review and confirm that they are good to grant ones trust and business.

When I was researching alternate central A/C system manufactures online for the “best” highest efficiency choice multiple reviewers said that total cost was a factor but less important than selecting a highly rated manufacture and a competent installation contractor. My research lead me to a select a Lenox 20.5 SEER 4 ton system and a 22 SEER 2 ton system each with Lenox Pureair photocatalytic oxidation air purification systems and Ultrasmart thermostats. For the installation I selected Certified Climate Control which recently changed their name to First Coast Climate Control. The installed price of $19,777 with a 10 year parts and labor warranty was among the highest we received. Removal of the old functional by lower efficiency 10 year old Carrier systems and installation of the new equipment was all done in a day. If I had to do over again we would insist on a more realistic work schedule. It took the installation crew almost 14 hours from start to finish plus travel time. No one can work that long at peak mistake free efficiency and necessarily complete the entire work scope. In my case I had asked First Coast as part of the job to adjust the duct dampers to more evenly balance the air flow throughout the house. The installers did not have time to do the damper adjustment and never came back to do so. I should have retained a percentage of the contract payment pending receipt of all manuals, warranty paperwork and completion of the entire work scope. First Coast was very responsive prior to receiving the order and did a good job installing the equipment; however, I am very disappointed with their post installation responsiveness. It took over 2 months of multiple emails and telephone calls to get copies of the compressor, air handler and air filter manuals. After the installation the first correspondence from First Coast was a 4/20 email stating that our purchase did not qualify for the Extended Warranty listing 7 reasons none of which made any sense to me. I asked for clarification but never received it. It took 6-1/2 months of multiple emails and telephone calls after the installation to receive any paperwork on the 10 year warranty that was in our contract.

I interviewed 5 HVAC companies.....First Coast Climate Control was the only company that recognized that I had a problem that none of the other companies picked up. They did a 1st class job on installation, explaining how everything worked (including new thermostat) and cleaning up afterwards. Their attitude and determination to perform a meticulous job was obvious. They were a little higher than other companies, BUT PERFORMED MUCH MORE OF THE WORK NEEDED than any other company was going to do. I highly recommend you ask for Ernie (lead installer) and Levi, they worked great together and took their time in making sure all work was perfectly done and that I was happy with the job. If I could have given 6 stars I would have. PRICE WAS VERY REASONABLE FOR THE High Efficiency UNIT I RECEIVED AND QUALITY OF THE WORK! P.S. I have NO interest in this company (business or otherwise). I will recommend them to all my friends and will use no other service for my AC or anything related. If they are slightly higher in price than other companies.......PAY IT. They actually did more than what they said they would.......YOU GET 1st CLASS SERVICE AND 1st CLASS PRODUCTS - YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!

Installation was done in a very professional manner. Installers arrived on time and work was complete within the time frame specified. Original unit was over 20 years old and was ready for replacement and First Coast Climate Control provided best pricing and quality installation. Very satisfied. I would recommend this company for any of your air conditioning needs.

I can't say enough good things about First Coast Climate Control (formerly Certified Climate Control). I called them requesting a quote for a new HVAC system because mine went out. I spoke with Alex on the phone for an initial quote and then he came out to fine tune the details. Communication was excellent! He was very thorough in his quote and also extremely patient with all of my questions and requests. We have two ac units for our two story house and were looking for the best value of SEER vs price, humidity control, and air purification. I felt like Alex really tried to understand what I was looking for and was surprised to find out their price was the most competitive. Once we decided what we wanted, Alex was very clear on the process and set very clear expectations. On the day of the install, Ernie, Levi, and Lee worked tirelessly to get everything installed and working properly. I offered them lunch and drinks, but they politely declined because they had planned ahead with their own food and drinks. These guys worked incredibly hard in the Florida heat! They were overly cautious with our home and covered all the carpet with drop cloths to be sure nothing was damaged. When they were done, they walked us through everything and cleaned up after themselves before leaving. I would highly recommend Alex, Ernie, and team to anyone in the area that needs HVAC help. They were the only company. That found the leak on the old system. And gave me the option. To fix the leak in the old one . Or replace with new . 20 year old system. Time for new one . They priced me a new system. That fit my budget. They also added Freon to my old system. To keep house cool. tell they could fit me into the install schedule. If you need repair or replace. On your A/C system. Call first coast CCC . Their honest knowledgeable and fair prices. And I also received 10 year parts warranty and 5 year labor warranty.

Certified Climate Control replaced by HVAC system. Alex, presented me with purchasing options and spent a lot of time answering my questions so that I could make a choice I felt was right for me. Of the three company representatives I spoke with, he was the only one who did load calculations. The two installation technicians were knowledgeable and professional in their work. My questions were willingly answered, they picked up all trash and were conscientious about wearing booties inside. There were a couple of things needing attention following installation and Alex went out of his way to make sure that I was satisfied with the corrections that were made. I highly recommend this company.

Purchased new Air Filter which was called in prior to visit. Cost of Air Filter charged at service time was higher by 3 times the cost of the same filter available online with free shipping. Requested price on 2 UV filters. Technician took the old filters and the cover of the unit. When they called it in they priced it at nearly double the cost of the same filters available online plus service costs to replace, which was declined. They have not yet returned the cover of the unit. The technician tried to sell me a new power unit for the outdoor unit even though the outdoor unit is working well, saying that it was at full capacity.

Not only is office staff very friendly and efficient, but emails are responded to with lightning speed. Wayne was able to come same day. As parts were needed for repair, advised he would call when ready for return. Was back next day - first thing in the AM - installing parts and testing unit. Polite, efficient, knowledgeable. Price extremely fair for the work done. Couldn't ask for a better company to deal with.

I choose to work with Certified Climate Control, LLC because they were the only HVAC company that performed a load calculation of my home during a free estimate. During the free estimate, the Area Manager performed the load calculation, examined the existing duct work, and took into account the current issues I was having with my old A/C system. Based on the Area Manager’s assessment, he provided me with the best system that could easily be installed based on my home’s current configuration. He took in account that I needed an extra return and vent placed in the master bedroom. As a single woman, I was very hesitant to do business with any HVAC company. Of the many free estimates, I received, Certified Climate Control, LLC was the only one that performed a load calculation of my entire home. The Area Manager also provided me with additional information regarding the new installation. For example, one of the topics mentioned was many company did not want to change out the copper wire from my old system. The Area Manager explained that many companies are reluctant to change out the copper wire. Many of these company are inexperienced or sometimes it is more challenging for them, or they want to convince the customer it can save them money. Certified Climate Control Area Manager ensured me all of their technicians are certified and well trained to properly install HVAC systems. On the day of installation, the workers arrived ready to work. They were very courteous and introduced themselves. Whenever I asked for an update on their progress, they were happy to explain to me how far long they were. Prior to installing the outdoor unit, they cleared away the grass in that area (this was totally unexpected). When they entered the house, they took off their shoes when asked. They installed the return and extra vent in the master bedroom and cleaned up behind themselves by vacuuming the area. When the job was completed, they clean up the garage, in addition to fixing the door to my fence so that it would close shut. Then Certified Climate Control followed up with an inspection 10 days after installation. I got the new system just before Jacksonville, Florida got a big freeze. My old system would not have provided me with the comfort of heating up my home within minutes, as with this new system does. I am truly happy with the way the system works, and the fact I did business with Certified Climate Control, LLC. I would recommend Certified Climate Control, LLC to family and friends to meet any of their HVAC needs.
