Five Star Flooring

Ricardo applied a water-based polyurethane to my hardwood floors. After the floor refinishing was completed, we noticed scuff marks on the floor in certain areas after the curing period. I made multiple attempts to reach out to Ricardo to address my concerns and explain what I had learned about the way it was applied from the manufacturer, but my text messages and phone calls were not returned. Now my floor looks worse than it did before and I need to have them re-done. I would not recommend this vendor.

First, the vendor's claims "100% dust free" which is completely untrue. Walls and ceiling needed to be thoroughly cleaned after their work. More importantly, they completely botched the kitchen repair work. We waited months for them to come back and fix their mistakes. they failed to show up on numerous occasions and then sent inexperienced workers....thus causing the work to be redone. After the fourth attempt to have them do the job right, we gave up and went to a different vendor. they left the job with: boards with significant gaps, not sanded flush, and stain unevenly applied. The owner was also extremely chauvinistic. He wouldn't respond to my wife's calls....only mine. We were extremely disappointed!

Ricardo was reliable and did excellent work in refinishing the wood floor in our apartment. He was timely and communicated frequently. His price was very competitive. I would recommend him highly and would hire him again.

Ricardo called the next day and he met with me as agreed. His bid was the most fair for a Great room, dining room, 3 bedrooms, 11 stairs, foyer and entertainment room. He also agreed to do the job as requested over a two week period. He helped us move heavy furniture which not many would do. He and his crew were very nice. The floors came out Great! Thanks

I closed on a house that had wall-to-wall carpet in most of the rooms a week before going on vacation. I contacted Five Star and Ricardo responded right away, we scheduled for him to come see the job that needed to be done (he was very punctual), and did the work while I was away and the house was still empty. I had 2 other estimates and his price was the most reasonable. Since the house was empty and some of the work had to be done at night there were some minor issues such as a few staples (literally about 5) that were not fully removed and a spot that was missed due to lack of adequate lighting. Ricardo showed up to take care of those issues himself. Ricardo was alway courteous and professional.

Great! Ricardo and the team were timely, professional and did great work. We have an older house with some tricky repairs and the crew was able to make the repairs, match the stain and they look great. We paid extra for the "dustless" service - well worth it to keep 99% of the dust out of the existing living spaces - but we still used plastic to seal off the living spaces as an added precaution. Whole job was done in under 3 days.

We had a flooring job we needed to have completed in a finite window of time (old tenant was moving out and we had a week before we absolutely had to move in). From the getgo Ricardo was professional, timely, and responsive. He showed up as scheduled to see the unit, sent us the quote the next day and completed the work in the time he said he would. And our floors look GORGEOUS. The apartment looks completely different than the one we purchased. We couldn't be happier with him (and his crew's) work.

Ricardo was exceptionally helpful, given that I had to arrange the work quickly and from 3000 miles away. He provided a clear estimate, regular updates, and by all accounts the work looks great. The price was quite fair, given the job required moving heavy furniture and discarding alot of rubbish.

It went better than I could have hoped. Ricardo's team worked extremely hard to have the work done in time for us to move into the house. Ricardo was always in communication with me, letting me know exactly what was being done and when. The work was done on schedule and his pricing was 100% transparent. I absolutely recommend him for painting and floor refinishing. He has my number and is free to give it out as a reference. I made my decision based on other recent good reviews on Angie's List, and so felt obliged to add my experience.

Good, but after looking at similar work (sanding/polyurethane) that Ricardo had done for previous clients from Angie's list I felt that I was charged more.

I would definitely recommend 5 star flooring! Actually already did to my neighbors. They had their floors done after seeing what a great job Ricardo did. It was easy and quick and mess free. Ricardo was extremely responsive with phone calls as well. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing their floors sanded and refinished. My floors look beautiful!

Ricardo and his team outperformed my expectations. Going into this project, I had little knowledge of hardwood finishes. At my request, Ricardo took his time to patiently explain the entire process. Ricardo was courteous, professional and very accommodating. Ricardo takes pride in his work and it definitely shows!

Ricardo came to give me an estimate and was very knowledgable about the work that needed to be done. The estimate he gave me was fair and after reading all of his reviews, I was confident the work would be done with high quality and detail. I had several companies give me estimates, but I felt comforatbale going with Ricardo. When I asked when he would be able to start, he said next week. The job took two days and I was very pleased with results. His crew was professional and cleaned up after the job was done. I look forward to working with Ricardo and his team on other projects I need to get done.

Five Star Flooring lives up to its name! We had an excellent experience from beginning to end. Ricardo came to give an estimate at a convenient time for us. We were pleased with the price he quoted. We opted for the extra "dust-free" add-on. Ricardo was able to start the work a day earlier than what we originally we agreed upon, which worked out great for us as we had just moved in and were anxious to get things going quickly. The floorers were friendly, professional, very hard working and above all clean. They vacuumed at the end of each day they were working, even in our living room. The floors came out absolutely gorgeous. They matched the color in the rest of our living space perfectly and we are extremely pleased with how they look. Everyone who comes over comments on them and we have been and will continue highly recommending Five Star to everyone who asks about the floors! Thank you Ricardo!
