The process was very easy from quote to onsite manager, to color specialist to painting process. Every step was explained and the work was done very professionally. definitely a 5 star rating!

Everything was done entirely to our satisfaction. When there was a slight hiccup with one crew, the Manager came in and handled it immediately and we didn't skip a beat. Very responsive, available and professional. Can't go wrong using this company- top notch from the owner down to the crew.

When the owner, Jeffrey Hawkins, came to the house to bid on the job, he was very confident in his company's ability to get the job done...later his price included a generous military discount (I am a Navy veteran). Out of 3 bids, I gave Jeff the job. His foreman, Ken Adams and his painters Will Myers and Matt Bone were great workers (professional, hardworking, trustworthy, detail oriented...exemplary). The job was done without mishaps. We are very happy with the outcome. Whether you're a veteran or not, this company will do your paint projects the way you envisioned!

Lydia provided me with a fair estimate. I was very grateful that she was able to work me into the schedule, as I had guests coming. The interior painting was completed in two days by George. He also followed up to touch up a few spots. I really enjoyed working with both of them. Five Star also provided me with a paint consultant. This was included in the price and the consultant was spot on with the paint color!!

They did a good job painting the walls but the cabinets are another story. They were in such a rush to finish that they did not bother to paint some of the insides of the cabinet doors. They used oil based paint when I thought they were going to use a water based primer and paint. The oil based paint has chipped in many places and it stains. I called them to complain and told them I did not like the paint they used and the representative told me I did not know what I was talking about and that they used the best paint. I have painted other cabinets in my house with the water based primer and paint and I have never had chipping problems. I told him he was rude and I did not want him back in my home and I have had to repaint them myself. Kitchen wall painting was around $1500 and the cabinets were $2300

The paint job looked great. However, once the job was finished the painter handed me his business card for another company and told me he was a subcontractor who used all of his own equipment to paint my house and that he would have done the job for $400 cheaper. I hired Five Star Painting because I heard great reviews, so I was a little irritated to find out that another company had painted my house and that I had paid Five Star a $400 finders fee.

We run both employee and subcontractor crews and assign them to jobs based on best fit, their skills and capabilities, and availability for each job on our production schedule. I will add that this crew is not independently licensed and does not carry its own Workers Comp insurance. Since we are a licensed (Pasco and Pinellas), bonded, insured (both Workers Comp and General Liability) painting contractor, we are able to place great paint crews that otherwise would not legally be permitted to work for any customers directly. None of our employees or subs are ever permitted to solicit work directly with our customers and is a violation of our strict Code of Values and Conduct at Five Star. We take our reputation very seriously and appreciate that you made us aware of the situation. This individual and crew will not be considered for future work with our team."
