Five Star Professionals in Paradise

Constant excuses, delays, asked for more money to help before the job was completed, I paid his employees approximately almost 4,000 to help with the job out of my own pocket, money did not go towards final cost of project.

October 2023, I placed an ad on Angi's to have a gravel driveway put in on our 5 acre property. Lauren, an employee and daughter of the owner of Five Star Professionals in Paradise reached out. We got multiple quotes but felt good about when Brian (Owner) could do for our project so we signed a contract with him. From there we added 2 additional contracts to complete other tasks around our property. Brian, Joe, and Brian Jr. started multiple projects listed on our contract. Initially (in November) the crew was coming to work consistently. Based on the contract we paid a 1/3 deposit, another 1/3 was to be paid in the middle, and 1/3 when the project was completed. Brian constantly asked for money and was paid 40,000 (job total of $50,000) when he had only completed 10-20% of the project. Since being paid we have had the excuses of: food poisoning, dog death, cars broken down, needing surgery as to why they couldn't come out and complete out projects. As stated, Brian's crew started projects but they have not completed any of them. The condition they left my yard is embarrassing. I have gotten complaints from my neighbors and my HOA. After Brian needed surgery he gave us the date of April 15 that he would return and need 30 days to complete our project. Today is April 17, and we have not had Brian show up he said "I will try and make it out this week." We have all pictures needed to prove the level of completion, text messages, recorded phone calls. We just want our job completed or our money back so we can hire someone else to do it. Early on in the project I started getting worried based on how much we have paid and how little of the job was completed. Brian made comments that he has been arrested for destroying a construction sight in the past after he wasn't paid. He also made comments about how he was out of money and people being angry with him. I tried to be supportive and even went outside to help his crew to try and complete the projects. We've tried to be patient and understanding with Brian's medical conditions but are confused as to why his son's Brian Jr., Joe, and daughter Lauren couldn't be working on our projects. We are asking it be done by May 17. All items listed in our contract. Or we are asking for $30,000 to be refunded to us by May 17th. We came up with this number based on the materials we will need to complete the project not the labor involved in what Brian's crew has completed.

Joe came over gave me a contract for $ 6,000.00 for the back and front. He ask for $ 3,000.00 dollars up front and told me when the job was completed then the balance of $ 3,000.00. Well he left. for 6 weeks of calling and texting could not find him. I called Angi they gave me his father's number , he told me they went on a cruise and got covid, and they could not answer any calls. Finally he called me and told me he could get pavers but not the same, after waiting this long I said yes. The back is almost done, and still waiting to get them sealed. The front is not completed and the some pavers are coming loose and still not sealed. The worst part is I called and couldn't reach anyone. I texted and no response. Angi, I need to get this resolved.

Job started 2/20/23. 220 days, or 7 months later and the work is still not complete. I've asked them almost every week for an estimated date of completion and they won't give me one. I've paid $31,000 to this company. Five Star Professionals in Paradise left behind more than one pile of dried poured concrete in my grass which I am still cleaning up. They also left behind a significant amount of trash in the form of broken concrete blocks and scraps. I just want the job finished. I will take down this review once the work is done.

SCAM ALERT My parents found them through ANGI. They showed up appearing enthusiastic. They took 3000 for down payment. They didn't follow up or return calls for months. It was like they were annoyed at us for wondering. They finally showed up and dug up some lawn. They broke a piece of concrete they weren't supposed to because they used the wrong tools. After a rainstorm all the rain flowed into the house. They never finished the job. We were left with a bunch of dirt and a little gravel coverage. After 6 months we decided to get a refund. They told us they would still deduct $800 and refund us $2200. After over a month....nothing. Not surprised. Had to call a few more times and finally only got $610 back. They scam seniors. Will definitely be taking action with state against their license.

Exceptional! This is the third time we have hired Joe and his crew. They complete the work in a timely manner and always the way we requested.

Their service was great! Before I found these guys I had two company’s who pulled a no call no show. One of them was just for an estimate! These guys showed up exactly when they said they would, had a great attitude and got the job done. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable landscaping business.(yes they do exist!)
