Five Star Remodeling

Created Laundry Area in an unused closet on 2nd floor of home.  Required demoing existing cabinetry to widen the doorway, re-framing the door opening, installing new door, in addition to Water,  Electrical and Ventilation.   Did so without opening walls and ceiling and ripping out newly installed beadboard in powder room below, something none of the other bidders for the job said they could do. When the Plumbing sub "disappeared" there was another qualified plumber on the job the next day. Work was completed on time in the agreed upon manner with a beautiful well functioning outcome , all according to Building Code  and the work passed all inspections first time. <br /> <br />  2) "Remodeled" basement bathroom.  Actually demo'd most of the semi finished side of the basement including the three separate freestanding fixtures floating in the semi-finished DIYstyle  basement in a terribly inconvenient location and created an amazing  enclosed 3/4 bath in the area where the laundry had been including a neat and clean finished hallway and  a separate furnace room. Andersen and Pedro offered multiple options for addressing our needs. They took the time to explain the pros and cons of each option. They worked tirelessly to find creative, cost effective work arounds so that the finished  product was something they and we could be proud of. <br /> <br /> They also cleaned up much of the extraneous wiring, pipes etc. that the previous owners, ardent DIYers left behind. Again all the work was completed to code and though it was not completed exactly on time the majority of the delay was due to occasional lack of availability of the various building inspectors  Don't want to distract from the point of this review, what a fabulous job Five Star Remodeling did but know that prior to engaging Five Star we had several really unpleasant experiences with other contractors related to this same job who wanted to cut corners or were fuzzy about costs or expectations for finished products.  If you have high expectations you will be very happy with Five Star Remodeling.

I have worked with several contractors over the years and Anderson was by far the best. Firstly, he is *extremely* responsive. He almost always answers the phone and if he can't he'll call you right back. For projects that last months when lots of questions and issues come up, it is *invaluable* to be able to get your contractor on the line quickly rather than having to wait hours if not days to connect with them (as has happened to me with past contractors).  <br /> <br /> Moreover, when any problems arose Anderson would always address them and make sure they got fixed. Other contractors I've worked with have tried to spin their way out of responsibility, but Anderson would always take responsibility for any issues that came up under his watch and work to get them resolved as quickly as possible. In short, on the customer service front, he is second to none. <br /> <br /> The quality of the work was also excellent. Our kitchen looks sparkling and amazing, and the shower that was fixed and remodeled looks super. There were a few tiles that cracked due to house settling that had nothing to do with his work, and Anderson fixed them at no extra charge (he could have said he was not responsible and charged me). The original floor of the kitchen was all crooked (again due to settling) and Anderson did a terrific job straightening the floor so it finally looks normal. <br /> <br /> Finally, Anderson is also a certified mold remediation specialist and eradicated a major mold problem in the kitchen walls prior to the renovation. It was extremely valuable to have him be able to do both the remediation and the renovation, rather than having to coordinate multiple parties, not to mention the cost savings by not having to hire a whole new company for the remediation. <br /> In summary, if you want to work with a contractor who does suburb work, is extremely responsive, and always puts the needs of his clients first, I would strongly recommend hiring Five Star Remodeling.
