Lots of scratched and broken things. Some irreplaceable. The price paid to the men was much higher than our expected payout. I chalk this all up to a few factors. But I've decided there aren't any true 5 star movers in New England. Sorry but just not wholeheartedly overjoyed.

Absolutely terrible experience. If I could give it a negative rating I would. When they fist packed up my apartment in Boston they tried to add charges after everything was already packed up. Only when I said “ok bring everything back up then” did they meet me on the middle with a fair resolution. I put my stuff in storage until I had an address in my new location and once I had a delivery address I tried for a few months to get on a truck but communication was poor. The last email I received after that said “I’m working on it I think I will load up over the weekend I will let you know as soon as finish loading up the semi.” The next thing I heard was that the truck was 5 miles from the new city WITH MY FURNITURE ON IT! I had NO warning and was told that if I couldn’t accept delivery I would be charged for holding the truck up. I pointed out that I wasn’t even in the city and that it was 2pm on the Friday of a holiday weekend and I had no warning at all. I ended up having to scramble to get a storage unit in about 1 hour, have a friend take $3300 out of a bank to pay them on site because they refused to unload unless I had the cash. In addition, I had to pay $800 for an additional shuttle truck because I didn’t have time find a place that could fit the big truck. As I communicated this all I got was defensive attitude and no accountability. Even as I was trying to work this out with them they simply stopped responding to my emails. I believe they have predatory pricing. They low ball quotes but will to all they can do add additional charges when they have the customer over a barrel. I will NEVER use this company again and hope no-one else does. It’s sad that a company can stay in business with an attitude and communication like this. It’s well worth paying more initially for a reputable, honest moving company. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

These Guys are not professional at all, bad behavior and overcharged, broke your stuff and rude on site people. I had 1200$ Dinning table + Artificial Plant both broken and they said it's covered and claim a file. now they settled with 78$, so be aware guys before any movement. I will say do not let them handle your precious money. They said your stuff will be going in single truck, but they changed in 2 times in between as per delivery guys. We moved from RI to TX do not had even 400sqft of stuff and they made it 525 sqft and made all single items added for another 800$ extra as per papers. Please do not book these guys and I am not alone check more reviews if you do not believe me. These guys do not have their website reviews, their A+ rating is fake. You will regret as soon as you have your stuff in their truck, they will not give you final price before loading. They said stairs are free, on delivery we got to know 1st 8 steps are free, who does that and then charged extra 75$???? The humiliation will start when your stuff is on their truck and you can’t do anything, they will increase your stuff by adding more items and you will ended up paying extra including mishandling your stuff while moving. Please check more reviews on BBB before giving them business. I regret my decision to give them business and went with them by canceling the cheaper and good guy, just due to giving a chance to local business, but they don’t worth having even respect.

The in-house inventory was conducted by a courteous staff member the day after contact. A free quotation was provided by the project coordinator assigned by 5 Star including an Angie’s List discount. Packing and wrapping were carefully done by the moving staff on-time during the agreed-to date. Items were temporarily stored and then moved to another state. The movers made contact prior to destination delivery and then carefully moved items into a self storage facility ahead of schedule.

This Company move us before at Our House but this time was My Mom who needs the services so I call them again at the last second and Erica was so polite and understand the situation perfect so 4 Movers arrive at my Mom's at 8:00 AM and not stop until everything was done at her new House, I believe that we use Five Stars Movers 3 or 4 times and everytime they surprise me with a different crew which always hard working Man. I do 100% recommend them. Five Stars for sure.

<p>I went on Angies list looking for long distance movers. I spoke to someone from Angie's List who was VERY helpful. </p> <p>Purchased a plan that would be $1500. I then spoke to Erica from the company and gave her a itemized list of what would be moved. I then spoke to her closer to our move as we needed to add a washer and dryer. She told me no problem and that the movers would do an itemized list when they got there. </p> <p>My husband took many items and we also had two car loads of stuff. I instructed their foreman that certain boxes and bags (groceries) would be taken by me. They proceeded to take the items and box some of them up anyway. They did NOT use the mattress covers I purchased. I spoke to the foreman about it and he basically said "Whatever" . I had to clean up after the laborers. They threw all used tape rolls, plastic , and food rubbish on the floors. They did NOT pick up after themselves and didn't have a lot of care for my home. They used excessive amounts of tape to tape blankets. I informed Erica about it and she blew me off also. I feel like they only cared about making more money and OVERCHARGING!. We did have additional items to add to the move, but what they charged was ridiculous! They also did NOT have an accurate list They did not have either TV on the list and many other items on the list that was initially given, thus they used THAT excuse to OVERCHARGE us. </p> <p>They then insisted on receiving $600 cash at the time of delivery for "expenses" which did not go to the workers. Then want you to tip them also. Some of the workers were very nice though and I feel for them to be working for this company.</p> <p>NEVER USE THEM!<br /> <br /></p> <br />

They were fantastic! They were punctual, they were on time, they were neat, and fast. It was a driver and 2 helpers and they had the truck loaded. It wasn't a lot of stuff but the house where she lived was like 14 steps down from the porch down to the street level. When I moved in, it was absolutely brutal and these guys were like, It's okay. No problem. They even got there early.

Bad. The owner is very arrogant and rude with no communication skills or professionalism. <br /> I was an existing customer from years ago and called them first this time for a job but they showed up and were arrogant and rude and refused to wipe their shoes before stepping into the house. <br /> Can you imagine - if it's that hard for a moving company to wipe the shoes before walking into a house, then can you trust them with taking care not to dent or break things in your house? <br /> <br /> <br />

"We were hire to move one piece which weighted about 350 Lbs. The greeting we got from him was I hope you did not walk on brigs which was the pat to get to the from door which we did because it was no sign saying “Do not walk” his second thing that it came out his mouth was did you brought booties I said no because to try to move a 350 lbs item up stairs is not going to be safe, than he said you guys are not getting into my house I did said fine than we are not going to do the job, than he said well let’s get your shoes disinfected, I did said excuse me he said yes disinfected, I did said to him sorry but I’m canceling your job. He said to me I’m calling [name removed] and see what she said about it and close de door on us and I did walk away from the house. When he spoke to Erika he threaten Erika if the owner did not call him within two hours he was going to post reviews all over, himself and all his crew. When I did arrive at the office I did call him and told him that I was the owner he said you are the one who does not give a sh????? And hand up on me and here we are with the reviews. If he would ask nicely please wipe your shoes I will believe that we would it done it. But he never use the word “wipe”"

Pretty much the only good thing I have to say about these movers is the price, and given that they lost one of my boxes with valuable items in it, it was not worth it. <br /> When I called around, Five Star gave me the most affordable estimate. Erika was reasonable on the phone, but she doesn't do the moving, and doesn't control when the movers actually show up. <br /> For my pickup in Worcester, the movers were hours late. They did not call me to tell me they were coming late. When I called the office, I was assured they would be arriving in 10 minutes. Another hour later, they had not shown up. They eventually showed up and put my things into their truck. <br /> A few days later, a driver called me to tell me he was driving to CA, and I could expect my items in 5-8 days. At least I think that was what he said - he was very difficult to understand. He FINALLY called me 7 days later, to say he would arrive the following day, between 11 and 2. Then he called at 1:30pm, to say he would arrive at 6pm. He finally showed up at 8pm, many many hours after originally promised. When he finally arrived, in a much larger truck than was used to pick up my stuff, he insisted that he could not bring it close to the building (despite an option to do so), and would charge me for a long carry. He left me no choice but to pay him extra money, or he would keep my items. <br /> Finally, they left balls of used tape and other packing materials in various spots around my apartment and hallway. <br /> I guess the moral of the story is you get what you pay for, but i certainly did not get the service described in the other Angie's list reviews. <br />

"In the moving industry it's impossible to guaranty the arrival time on the afternoon jobs just because we do not know what are we going to face on the morning job. In the cross country jobs they always get send out on a tractor trailer. We explain to the clients if the tractor trailer do not fir in the delivery address they may have to pay for shuttle service or long carry."

The movers arrived early and were courteous and professional. They were very efficient in packing the truck and used many pads to avoid damage. We packed all the boxes ourselves and with many fragile items everything arrived in perfect condition. When they arrived they quickly unloaded the truck and helped put together the bed. Our daughters' move -in date was a Sunday and they were willing to pick up and deliver on a Sunday. We have moved many many times and this was a perfect move. <br />
