They showed up within an hour of us requesting services. Had a team of guys work through the night and another team relieved them in the morning. They literally worked around the clock to save our home. I can't thank them enough.

We had a clogged toilet that wouldn't stop overflowing. The valve wouldn't turn off the water line. Flood Doctor came out and was able to make the toilet stop until we could get a plumber to repair. Very knowledgeable and prompt even in the wee hours of the morning.

These guys are a joke. NEVER NEVER NEVER show up on time. They were 2 hours late on the initial meeting. That should have set off alarm bells but..oh wait, you are stuck in a bad spot with flooding so you stick it out. That is their total operating premise- you are in a desperate situation and they take advantage of it. They are run by young inexperienced people who fumble over themselves trying to make something happen. It was comedic! Oh, and if you try to call the main 24/7 line to talk with someone, NO ONE ANSWERS OR RETURNS MESSAGES! Haha. Another promise unfulfilled.

"[Member Name Removed], We take these matters very seriously, unfortunately, we have no record or recollection of any customer experience fitting this account, nor can we verify anything about your identity from your name in our records. I believe that you have us confused with another company. As your review suggests, you had hired a company for roof repairs. Flood Doctor does not provide any such service. We are a water damage mitigation and restoration company. If you were a client of ours , we would like to investigate this issue further, please contact us immediately at info(at)flooddoctorva.com so that we can resolve this issue immediately."

Amazing Company. They responded at 3 am, and at every single step of the way in what was a major disaster for our home, they were answering questions, providing guidance, and working nonstop with teams of 3 to 5 people to move all our items, protect what they could, rip out carpet and drywall as needed, and do the best drying job anyone could have wished for. The rapidity with which they took care of things in the first 24 hours likely saved us alot of trouble later on - but they also continued to provide us with follow up service, for the period the drying equipment was there, and well beyond, when I had many questions and issues with insurance. The company owner truly cares about customer service, and has the patience of a saint. They know what they are doing, and we felt confident in trusting them with all the decisions because they answered all our questions with care.

We arrived home from put two week long vacation in horror. Our master bathroom toilet leaked down causing the kitchen ceiling to cave in. The water leaked all the way down through the kitchen to the basement. We jumped online and found the closest flood repair teams. Flood Doctors arrived in under and hour and began work that very night, exaplinging to us that if left Untreated mold was sure to grow. The entire kitchen was redone, including granite counters and custom cabinetry + tiles. The entire process took about two and a half weeks. We are very satisfied with the level of customer service and expertise. Will hire again the the future.

Excellent work. Arrived exactly when they said they would and they dried my basement within a couple of days. Gave the bill to my insurance company and I was reimbursed in full for the work they did. They did an excellent job of documenting everything that they knew the insurance adjuster would ask for.

I had a flood in basement and called Flood Doctor - they showed up within a few hours and got to work immediately. Very quick service and prioritized job because of emergency. Made quick decisions to prevent the spreading of the water and immediately got to work preventing any possible mold. Removed carpet and walls and installed drying equipment, including fans and dehumidifiers. I had to travel for business, and they coordinated directly with insurance and other contractors to get the water out, mold prevention, and then the re-build. Made it very easy for me. I would highly recommend them - very easy to work with and extremely pleasant. Insurance covered the cost.

A window-well filled up with water on the evening of May 3 during an exceptionally heavy downburst. The water pressure shattered the glass, and a gush of water mixed with mud, mulch, leaves and broken glass swept into the house, covering carpet and a sofa. The water affected a large area, perhaps 800 -900 square feet. We picked up shards of glass as far as 20 feet from the window.
We checked service providers on Angie's list and called Flood Doctor that night They came round early the next morning. Pasha explained what they proposed to do, and assured us that the problem could be resolved and the carpet could be saved. That same morning they brought in fans and de-humidifiers, removed heavy furniture, took up the carpet and disposed of the sodden padding. Since we had to travel out of the country on May 5 he installed a lock box and arranged to keep us in touch.
While we were away we received updates by email from Pasha (the project manager) as the drying out and cleaning process proceeded. over a number of days. Once the house was dry they cleaned the carpet and reinstalled it and replaced the furniture. We returned to find the lower level fully restored. The carpet looked like new. Because of speedy remediation there was no damage to the walls. Pasha returned once we were back to check that we were happy with the job and to re-apply mould-mitigation treatment.
We filed a claim with our insurance. When the claims assessor came by and saw our photos of the damage she confirmed that they had done an excellent job. She was also surprised at the very good condition of the carpet. Flood Doctor provided full documentation of the job, including a separate set of photos. The claim has been accepted, less our policy deductible.
We were extremely impressed by Flood Doctor's service. They were very professional and we felt comfortable leaving our home in their care while away. We would recommend them strongly.

FD folks seemed good on the front end of this job, doing the demolition, removing damaged materials and placing the drying machinery. After several days, they monitored the humidity and removed the equipment. However my insurance agent felt that they placed more fans and dehumidifiers than were necessary. Additionally that those fans and dehumidifiers selected were more powerful than was needed.
When they removed some wet carpeting and padding, they used a much larger vehicle than was needed for that volume of material. In other words at every turn they seemed to take options to push up the cost of the job.
As a layperson, I can't know for sure what is the accurate and necessary number and type of machinery, but this is the second time that such issues have come up on a Flood Doctor job. I then go through a fairly drawn out period of dispute between the insurance agent and FD and I have to try and mediate between them.
Another issue that came up is that FD technicians moved some ceiling lights in the remediation process, but then misplaced or lost the screws that held those lights in place. This ended up being a big problem as the screws weren't in stock, had to be special ordered taking 6 weeks. I had to get an electrician to re-install them, when a handyman had tried and failed. FD refused to take responsibility both for having lost the screws originally and also for any reimbursement of the associated costs to replace them and reinstall the lights.
At one point in our back and forth on this, they made indirect threats related to debt collectors and associated impact on my credit record. Despite these remarks, at this point I have made my final payment, but minus a portion of the cost for the ceiling light issue. I am waiting for them to cash it.

So I never ever write reviews.....WhiIe was out of town for a week and when I came back a pipe broke in the upstairs master bathroom shower. I called Flood Doctor who was recommended to me by my family contractor. The person I spoke with was friendly and punctual. They ended up coming to make an estimate the next day and started working the day after! They had great contractors who I felt I could trust. As a person working 60 hour work weeks its hard to be at home for all this but they were in and out in 6 days!! Not only was the work done fast, but they made it look like nothing even happened! Looks better than before and I couldn't be any more happier!
I used Flood Dr VA in February and in April, Both times were in connection to pipes that had burst due to freezing weather in Janiuary. In the second instance. the pipe was to an outside faucet, which had been turned off, so the fact that it had burst was not discovered until I turned on the water to the pipe going to that outside faucet.
In February, I was overseas when the pipe froze and burst, flooding out the ground floor of my townhouse. Flood Dr provided exceptional service for the water remediation. Even though they must have been busy, they responded immediately, clearly laid out the plan of action and got to work, dealing with me via email and phone and with my neighbor (who had keys to the house) to provide updates and status reports. The bill for the remediation did have some inaccuracies, but they were quickly fixed. I asked Flood Dr to handle the rebuild in order not to have to deal with multiple contractors. This involved replacing drywall, painting. replacing carpet padding, reinstalling and cleaing the carpet. (Engineered hardwood also had to be ripped out and replaced but I did this separately as the original installer gave me a better price). I was home by this time so dealt directly with the project manager in person for the most part. I found the work of Flood Dr's contractors to be somewhat sloppy but the project manager was very good about taking care of all of my concerns. Relations with my insurance company seemed to be very good. I would give them pretty much an A across the board for their work in February.
The second time around was somewhat more problematic. They responded immediately to my call and had a team out within an hour to set up equipment. Communications with the project manager were not as smooth as they were previously and there were misunderstandings about when he would visit to check up on the drying out process, That said, the work was done professionally. I was promised, but never received, an email for a rebuild estimate for replacing drywall, painting, replacing carpet padding and reinstalling and cleaning the carpet, so had it taken care of by other contractors. The bill for the remediation had some mistakes and the format was very different from the February bill, but Flood Dr was very responsive in addressing mistakes and providing explanations for charges. My insurance company had questions about some charges as well, and was never able to establish contact to resolve them. However, Flood Dr did resolve them in my favor. Based on the communication issues, I would grade their service at the a general C level.
The strength of this company is that they are pros at water remediation, and they are able to respond quickly. I think they need to work a little more at overall communication and in ensuring billing is correct. Although I hope never to have another burst pipe, I would use Flood Dr again.
I called when our dishwasher flooded and unfortunately, it was the worst time - right after a snowstorm and below zero temperatures. Frank spent time with me on the phone going over what I thought the damage looked like. It wasn't much and it had flooded into our unfinished basement. Because he was so overbooked with recent frozen pipe bursts, Frank gave me several fantastic suggestions to take care of the damage and suggested I call him back to test for the mold later. He was so helpful and knowledgable, we would definitely use him in the event of a big flood!
Flood Doctor was called after heavy rains flooded our basement. They came out immediately and started working. They packed out everything and moved it out of the basement. After which they extracted all the water from our basement and placed equipment there for several days to dry everything. My mother and I were very pleased with the level of professionalism and responsiveness of the flood doctor crew.
Their team at the office was also just as helpful when it came time for us to file an insurance claim. This being our 1st claim for our home we had no idea where to start. They documented everything and gave us everything that
they knew our adjuster would want.
If you are ever faced with a flood in your home, our family highly recommends using Flood Doctor of VA.
It happened in the middle of the night. A pipe burst and the basement of our home was flooded.
After checking angies list we decided to give flood doctor a shot.
We called these guys at 2AM in the morning and they promptly arrived at our home within the hour.
Given our terrible mood we were positively surprised about how responsive and thorough they did their job.
Their service was wonderful and had us back up and running within a few days!
I hope this never happens to us again, but if it would i would not hesitate to call them again.
Thank you
My mom had a pipe burst in her home. I was away on business and could not be there to help her. I called Flood Doctor to go and see if they could figure out the cause of water in her basement. They patched me in and showed me everything that was going on live so that I could see the damage and then they talked me through everything step by step. They really went the extra mile to keep me posted on everything that was going on.

They removed and replaced all the carpeting in her basement as well as the wet drywall and baseboards. The project manager Pasha was also very helpful when it came time to deal with the insurance company. This was my mom's 1st time filing an insurance claim. I really appreciate all the hard work these guys did to make it as simple and straightforward as possible.
.We were expecting to walk into a disaster zone when we go home two days later.Other then the fans and humidifiers they had left
running you could hardly tell anything had happened there. They had vacuumed out the water ,removed all the wet padding from underneath the carpeting and put drying pads on the hardwood. We were sure that the hardwood would have to be replaced since we have been through this before and we knew how badly that amount of water would damage the wood. Pleased to say that it was not the case this time ! Other than the padding everything else in the home was salveged. They had put all of our furniture on pads and lifted them off of the wet carpet and moved all other items off of the wet carpet and moved all other items from the affected areas into other rooms
The team members we dealt with were incredibly responsive and made sure we knew exactly what was going on in our home the entire time we were away and when we got back. After about a week our home was completely dried out and life was back to normal .
We are very thankful to our neighbor who found Flood Doctor for us.
