I told them what type of flooring and color I wanted. They came out to my house with flooring samples that were closest to my request. I'm impressed that they came to my house so I could see, not guess, what type and color I wanted. They gave an itemized, reasonable quote. They came to my home at the time they said they were going to be there. They were very professional and I loved the flooring they installed. I now have a new room, not a room that looks like two separate areas.

On time, professionally done, and very pleased with result. Owner took great pains to carefully and fully explain pros and cons of alternative choices, as well as financing options available, if needed. He did not push us toward--or away from--any one of them. Didn't feel rushed in any way. His installers were thorough and personable, and they even brought a couple issues they discovered in the house to our attention--including an unknown water leak--which required immediate action.

Jonathan did an excellent job with the entire project. He listened intently and genuinely did his best to help me decide what product would work for me. He met with me twice at my home. Once to see the area and discuss options and again with samples to choose the flooring. I feel that he was very concerned with me being able to have a floor that I could keep as clean easily and helped me figure out how to eliminate the odor as much as possible before installation. The installers were very courteous and prompt. They allowed observation and answered many questions from us. They also gave tips as to how to prevent odor from getting under the new flooring. I recommend this crew and would use them again.

They paid particular attention to what I wanted and recommend a rug that would be appropriate. The installation team arrived on time and finished promptly. I've used them to install a wood floor in my family room and a carpet for my sun room. They are professional. They also clean up and recycle all debris.

The first time I called for a quote, no one called me back. But I persisted, and Jonathan made a good sales pitch. They arranged to do the work while we were on a trip for a week - a perfect time to empty the house and get this kind of work done. I met with their foreman right before I left, and I gave him the house key and told him to return it to the next-door neighbor when they're done, or keep it for later. The first sign of trouble was that the guys that showed up sounded like nothing I discussed with the foreman had been passed on to them. Then after the first day, my neighbor texted to say the house was unlocked and empty at 7:30pm. I texted the foreman, and he assured me it would be fixed. But the neighbor had to keep locking the house up, and when we returned after a week, the house was still unlocked! And the key was under the mat, not where I'd asked. I also found polyurethane on some brick in the living room; a piece of quarter-round missing in front of the front door; and drips of poly in the basement. They cleaned up the excess poly and added the missing trim, but assumed that everything was OK with leaving the house open because nothing got stolen. In summary, I ended up with a nice-looking job on the floors for what seemed a fair price, but some serious concerns on how it was done.

The only thing that I would have liked, it would have been a little bit better was a followup. They did the installation and everything really well, but they were supposed to come back later, and do a little follow up, they never got around to do that. They were supposed to do like a hardwood maintenance kit or something, and they never did that, so a follow up would have been better.

Overall, a very successful project. The new flooring looks great, especially the hardwood. Completion of the project was on schedule with no problems. The only negative we had was with how the quarter round to the hardwood was installed. We thought it was a bit rushed and resulted in inaccurate splices and corners. <br />

Very professional job. The work was done a few years ago and I am not one to rate a company right away. I like to live with the work before rating. After 3 years I am still very pleased with their work. They were very responsive and on-time for all appointments and commitments. Their installation crew was very considerate of my home and furnishings. The installation went very well. And we are still very happy with the work they did. I highly recommend this company for any type of flooring installation.

FCI prepped the concrete slab of my basement floor. The previous owner had painted part of the basement and used glue to adhere carpet to the remaining part. FCI was able to remove all the glue and prep my floor so it was ready for the luxury vinyl plank flooring. The also had to use a leveling compound to fix so of the outer edges. <br /> <br /> Once all the prep work was done, which took less than a day, they started installing the luxury vinyl plank flooring. They used an adhesive to adhere the flooring to the concrete per installation instructions from the manufacturer. Once they finished, the results speak for themselves...it looks like a million dollars and is as smooth as glass! <br /> <br /> Jonathan explained the process perfectly and helped to guide me in the right direction. I had planned to install a more expensive flooring option but after hearing the pros and cons, I realized that the luxury vinyl plank was the right option for my house and I could not be happier with the results and the price!

Prior to calling Floor Coverings International, we had previously priced out carpet with 2 other local companies. We did not receive written quotes from the other 2 companies, just verbal quotes. Jonathan Wilk, the owner, called and set up an appointment to meet in our home at 4pm on a Thursday night. He came on time. We thought it was a good idea to come to our home with samples. <br /> Well, Jonathan came and talked with us for a while to "get to know his customers". Which is fine, but we want to talk about carpet! We did a walk through of our house and discussed problem/high-traffice areas. He took measurements and video for his installers. Up to this point it was about 5:30 or 6pm. He went to his car to work on the quote. We ate dinner while he did that. <br /> When he came back in, he had a very detailed layout of our home and then showed us the sales pitch on his computer. He showed us the samples he selected and we discussed the price on the quote. It was really high and not competitive with the other 2 companies. Then we talked about seeing a cheaper carpet. The quote for that was $6,600. We did get nicer padding for the family room as our house sits on a slab foundation. We selected the carpet and were asked to paid for 1/2 of it upfront so that the carpet could be ordered. Since we were in the process of painting, he agreed that we could stall installation for a week or so until the painting was completed. Finally, at 8pm, Mr Wilk left our home. He is a nice enough guy but when you have just gotten home from work, squeezing in dinner and getting kids ready for bed, a 4 hour spiel is not what we wanted. We could have done without the beginning getting to know you portion and the video presentation. Also, when he first quoted us a carpet that was well out of our budget, we felt like we couldn't afford good quality carpet. That made us feel like we were broke! It may have been better for him to ask us what price range we were looking at. <br /> Installation went well. It went over 2 days. Jonathan told us what to do to prepare for installation. Basically, we had to clear all the tops of furniture, remove electronics, etc. Install was coordinated by another fellow, Stephen. He had 2-3 installers come and they removed and hauled away all the old carpet and pad. They moved the big furniture. We did have a problem area in on the subfloor in our master bedroom that we discussed with Jonathan but apparently was not discussed with the insulation crew. The installers both noticed the problem when they pulled up the carpet but since they were not told by Stephen to fix it, I guess they didn't think they had to. I knew this area was a real problem for us so when they got to the master bedroom, I was watching to ensure it would be resolved. It was an easy fix but one that required proper communication of the problem and time for the leveling compound to dry. The installers did vacuum and removed all their debris. <br /> Finally, I am happy to say that the carpet we choose is a beautiful color and seems to be a good quality carpet. Our old carpeting was in terrible shape after 11 years but I feel this carpet will hold out much better. Two doors are dragging on the carpet and I sent an email to Jonathan. He said Floor Coverings international does not fix the doors but he did give me the names of two people that I can call for the repair. <br /> We are pleased with the process but would recommend a short "sales-pitch" and better communication with the install crew. Also, it would have been nice if Mr Wilk stopped by himself to see the final product. <br />

It is true that sometimes my sales calls take longer than I would like them to, so I'm working on shortening them. We also have a process for communicating all unique requirements and circumstances to the installation team. I will look at this to see if it can be improved. As far as being able to see the installation after it was complete, yes, I wish I could do this for every job. The spring is always so busy for us, I try, but I don't always get a chance to visit every job once it is finished. At the end of the day, these clients were super to work with and I greatly appreciate their feedback."

Jonathan Will, the owner, was an excellent salesman who provided us with detailed information on a variety of carpets. He came to our home twice to bring us sample carpets. Since we were able to save $400 by relocating our furniture and removing the carpets ourselves, it took us longer than we had originally planned (in fact, it was a month longer than expected). Jonathan was patient with our delay and finally was able to install the carpets on 12/22/14. His installer, Steve Johnson, came with a three person crew and installed the carpet in about 90 minutes. We were very pleased with the entire process. <br />

It doesn't bother me that it took a bit longer than planned; this happen with flooring purchases from time to time.
