Floor was great but the sales person Oscar stated a floor cleaning product was included at no extra charge but upon asking for this again he know says it will cost $50...and when I called back to confrim this he hung up on me...STAY AWAY! Dishonest and shady business practices like this are why we will choose another flooring company next time.

We contacted Floor Expo on the recommendation by my daughter who had a beautiful floor installed in her kitchen and hallway. We received our estimate and decided to go ahead with the job. Balthazar ripped up the old oak floor down to the sub-flooring. I was not advised that the subflooring was not smooth. The new oak floor was installed, and initially it looked good, but in different lighting it became apparent that there was a rippling effect in the new floor boards that can easily be felt when walking on the floor. I was never advised that we needed to have plywood installed over the old subflooring, which would have solved the rippling effect. Besides this problem, we have a difference in heights of the floors to the kitchen, bathroom and basement steps. Two t-moldings were installed, both of which are awkward and create a tripping hazard. Had plywood been installed under the new oak flooring, none of these problems would exist. Balthazar, as a professional installer should have advised me of these issues before proceeding to install the oak floor. We would gladly have paid additional cost of plywood. I got the impression he just wanted the job done and didn't want any delays. Now I am stuck with a $2000 floor which is an embarrassment and has to be covered with a rug to hide the imperfections. I'm still trying to figure out a solution to the tripping hazards of the t moldings. The irony of this situation is that Floor Expo delivered plywood to my daughter's house in case there was a problem with subflooring, she didn't need it and it was returned. They didn't send plywood to our job, and we definitely needed it. I've tried reaching out several times to Debby at the store but haven't received any response to our complaints.

<br>The family room carpet (installed in April) had a manufacturing defect in that the carpet had a chalky sheen to it. Eric, the owner of Floor Expo in Fairfield, NJ, came right over the next day to see it. He agreed with me & said he would replace it for free. <br> <br>The replacement was installed on 6/3/16, along with a carpet in the master bedroom, hall & stairs. They did an excellent job with the installation. Jimmy, the lead installer, was also very personable, which to me is a wonderful quality for anyone working in your home. He even went above & beyond the call of duty in that he helped load 2 dorm refrigerators, we were donating, into a truck. He also reconnected a loose chain in our toilet tank ! After completing the installation, they cleaned up & vacuumed the work area. You would never know they were even there! <br> <br>I can not say enough good things about this company..It was a real pleasure dealing with them, from the owner, Eric, right thru to the installers. (How many stores do you go into where you have direct access to the owner...very few, for sure). I will certainly be a lifelong customer of Floor Expo ! Thank you for exceptional customer service. <br> <br>

Very happy with the way the entire transaction was handled. We were shown options in the showroom without hard selling. We purchased the carpet and arranged a convenient installation date. Installers were professional. They did a nice job of removing the old carpet, installing the new one, cleaning up and vacuuming the new carpet. Later that evening we received a follow-up telephone call from the owner asking if we were satisfied - a nice touch. We were very pleased with our experience and love our new carpet! <br />

The whole process went great and I highly recommend them for anyone looking to purchase and have hardwood floors installed. We chose a higher-end brand of flooring and we were comfortable with the price of it, seemed fair for the brand. The installation was within range of other flooring stores we visited. The only hiccup and additional charge that we weren't expecting was the foam padding that's installed under engineered hardwood. The company forgot to include that on the estimate but we got a small discount for the inconvenience of it. The team that installed the floors was phenomenal! Very informative and helpful, kept us up to date on progress and even finished earlier than expected--took 2.5 days total. Super happy with the results and highly recommend Floor Expo (Oscar was the rep we worked with there) and their installation team, led by Balthazar. <br />

This was our dream project - period! <br /> Ever since we moved into this house last year, we wanted to replace carpets upstairs with brand new carpet or hardwood. <br /> The decision wasn't an easy one - after months of research and numerous quotes we ended up shortlisting 3 firms. Costco was top priority and then there were two highly reputed flooring guys that we found out on Angieslist. <br /> Quotes from all the three were nearly same. And then we spoke to Eric from Floor Expo - he came and he's different. Let it be in very detailed estimates or in his explanations to our questions. To help finalize our decision, we visited his Showroom in Fairfield - that was a turning point. <br /> While we visited Costco's designated flooring showroom, Floor Expo was far superior in terms of variety, easy of selection and friendliness of staff (well you deal with owner - what else you expect :)) <br /> The quote we got from Eric was competitive and right next to Costco's quote. When we mentioned the same he was able to match it. However, we went with Floor Expo considering the choices we have and reviews his team had (he doesn't outsource or sub-contract - so that's a big plus for us). Also, Mohawk is comparable to Shaw's that Costco offers. <br /> Scheduling was very easy - could do it within a couple of weeks and we moved it little bit here and there but Eric was very flexible. <br /> On the day of delivery (4 days ahead of installation), his team came in with neatly packed wood and moldings. On the day of installation a member crew came - led by Baltazar - a very polite artisan!. He's no less than a perfectionist and while speaking to him over next 3 days I understood that he is very experienced and takes immense pride in his work - no wonder many other reviews mention his name! <br /> The crew quickly removed the furniture, ripped up the carpet, inspected sub-floor, installed 2' screws wherever there is a squeaking sound, installed Mohawk, Premium hardwood, nailed and replaced builder grade base molding with designer 3-1/2" base molding. <br /> Through the 3 days, I had many questions and apprehensions - but the crew answered all the questions (they are near fluent in English). At the end of 3rd day, the crew gave a final walk through and fixed very minor imperfections (not installation related but sub-floor related, wood related etc.) and I am happy with the outcome. <br /> Considering the fact that whole of second floor carpet has been replaced - only 3 or 4 minor imperfections is commendable job!!!! especially since you are dealing with natural hardwood and sub-floor that was previously covered with carpet. <br /> The estimation of materials was so impeccable that we had just one box of wood left. So overage was less than 4% which means you save a lot of $$$. <br /> Eric was texting me periodically to check if things are going as planned and I appreciate that owner is taking the projects very seriously. <br /> The project was completed few hours ahead of schedule, bang on estimated amount and quality was acceptable to me and my wife's(yeah surprise - the lady is also good with the quality - hooray!) <br /> Strongly recommend - these guys cant go wrong!

I have always wanted hardwood floors. I was finally ready for the <br /> purchase and I shopped around. When I walked into Floors Expo, I was <br /> greeted by Oscar who was amazing. He was patient enough to deal with me <br /> attempting to choose from all the selections. I told him I was on a <br /> budget and he worked with me on making the right selection. A +++ in <br /> customer service. The process of getting my floors measured and then the <br /> final price went smoothly. The day of my installation, I was surprised <br /> at the speed and skill of the two installers. My living room and bedroom <br /> look great and I am so happy I decided to go with Floors Expo. Original installer had an accident. The subsequent installers provided by Floor Expo were sloppy and insensitive to our needs. Not happy with them or their work. <br /> <br />The problem was less with Floor Expo and more with Armstrong. The grout got very dirty very quickly and the floor was hard to keep very clean. No matter what I did using the recommended products, the grout would get dirty very quickly and I found myself cleaning it every few days on my hands and knees. Armstrong advertises the grout as being stain resistant. It is not. <br /> <br />Complained to Floor Expo. In all fairness, they did try to help. My biggest complaint was their telling me that the grout was cleanable and I should clean it with a pencil eraser or toothbrush. That is unacceptable for a 70+ person to do every few days on my hands and knees. I sweep and wash the floor daily using the recommended products and until this day the grout gets dirty within days. So the grout and the floor from Armstrong are the real problem more than Floor Expo. <br /> <br />My complaint against Floor Expo has to do more with the installers and also with the expectation that the grout and floor are easily cleanable which they are not. I would never put in a floor like this again. I have spent more time cleaning this one kitchen floor than all the other floors in my house put together.

A brief summary & timeline of your product & install: 08/05/13 - 08/06/13 We installed 8 boxes of Armstrong Alterna LVT product you chose with grout. We also ripped up & took away your existing sheet vinyl, installed a new luan subfloor and installed primed white shoe molding in addition to cream color vinyl base. under cabinets. 12/09/13 - You called to complain stating that you purchased a maintenance free floor and your floor is dirty. We sent over an independent Armstrong Inspector to determine whether or not there was a manufacturer's defect. That was ruled out. 01/28/2014 - We sent out an employee to clean your floors at no charge. 07/07/2014 - You are still not satisfied with the product or install so the owner of Floor Expo, Eric comes to your house to inspect the job. You complain about a spot that does not self clean. Eric explains to you that although Alterna is a low maintenance floor it is not self cleaning. You still must regularly vacuum, mop and spot clean with approved cleansers. We even left you a complimentary cleaning kit. 09/05/2014 - We send over an installer to replace 3 tiles and grout small area. We apologize that you are unhappy with the product and our services but we can't not stress enough that any floor you purchase, i.e. a stain proof carpet for example, will stain - it just means that the stain will easily clean. To date there are no self cleaning floors that we are aware of. If you still feel that Floor Expo did not go above and beyond what is required of us to satisfy a customer, I sincerely apologize if you still feel that you were not treated properly. We were finishing an unfinished basement and had stopped in Floor expo in a few occasions. Ultimately we were pleased with the sales experience, no pressure but helpful. We needed carpeting on stairs and had a Mannington vinyl product in the rat of the basement. They were Abe to complete the job in 2 days and they performed the work about 2 weeks after we originally contracted with them. They were relatively in time and we have no complaints. We would definitely use them again if needed. <br />

Our in-store experience was fine. The tile we initially chose turned out to be discontinued and we have a large floor, so the warehouse couldn't supply enough of the tiles for our job. Our second choice worked out well and looks great. <br /> Installers are not independent contractors, they work for the company, so they are directly responsible for the customer's <br /> satisfaction. <br /> Kitchen floor: installer (Balthazar) was meticulous, so the job took a little longer than we'd expected, but his work was excellent. <br /> Basement stairs: Uneventful. They came when they said they would, installed it, and left. It looks fine. <br /> Overall, a very positive experience. <br /> <br />

ok, not great. <br /> dealt with 3 people in store and one installer <br /> very poor communication between individuals in store and measurer <br /> first issue was which way floor would be installed <br /> not initally installed as indicated by store <br /> tile needed to be reinstalled and therefore have no extras left in case there is an issue in the future <br /> came back several times to make situation right <br /> engineered wood floor - not what we expected as there are ridges between boards unlike wood floor in other rooms that were sanded and smooth <br />

The sub-floor was leveled and door-jambs were trimmed to allow flooring underneath, and a glue-only option was used to avoid damage to radiant heating. Variable lengths and coloring were mixed for optimal appearance and minimal waste in rooms, halls, closets and bay window. Everyone was extremely professional and communicated perfectly. They were very punctual and extremely clean. The end result is gorgeous and very solid and quiet. The flooring itself was expensive, but the installation was very reasonable - they clearly know how to work with high-quality materials to enhance their beauty and durability. Their careful work makes the extra investment in quality materials worthwhile. I look forward to working with them again and would strongly recommend them to anyone. <br />

The main salesmen/manager's at Floor Expo were terrific. They responded quickly, called when they said they would call, and were very friendly. It was clear they knew their products and were in the least bit pushy. They worked with me on price and time and did a very nice job on the installation. I would recommend them to anyone. <br />

<p>I was contacted within a day of my search request. Kevin came out and gave me an estimate the next day. The owner of the company called to make sure all had gone well. I requested to get this done before the end of the year and was promised it could be done. Kevin called back the next day and work was set up for 12/23. Balthazar the installer arrived on time he was unable to finish in one day but came back as scheduled on 12/26. His work was excellent. He did a beautiful job and my home was left neat as a pin. It was a pleasure to work with this company, I would recommend them highly and would use them again!</p> <br /> <br /> <br />

We had ordered some furniture for our family, which we expected would take 2-3 weeks for delivery. Astoundingly, it was scheduled for delivery only about 1 week after we ordered it. So -- the carpet had to be pulled up fast and replaced, and it had to be with super-stain-resistant carpet because this room gets some tough use. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> I visited Floor Expo after work and explained my predicament to Tony. He showed me several in-stock carpet samples and let me take the most promising one home for family evaluation. Everybody liked it so we placed the order. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Tony sent a guy to measure on Sunday, called on Monday to schedule Tuesday installation. The installer showed up promptly, worked efficiently and was finished in less than 3 hours. He cut the old carpet up so we could dispose of it in accordance with town trash regulations. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> The carpet is great. Soft, well-padded. We haven't spilled anything yet, but that's just a matter of time. Tony called after installation was complete to make sure we were happy. He said he would not accept the remaining 50% payment until we were satisfied. But we were. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Throughout the extremely efficient process Tony was clear and professional. He was careful to make sure I understood the pricing and was able to complete the job less than 5 days after I originally walked into his store. <br />
