Florida Window & Door

The job started in May 2021 and it is March 2022 and the job is not completed. We waited a long time for production due to the pandemic but then it took 3 installer trips to get that portion done and when they were done the paperwork was lost so we can’t inspect. I have waited 6+ weeks for replacement paperwork and just sit with windows 90% installed with stickers on them. Communication has been poor with me making 95% of the calls.

The work was never completed although they took the payment. Kept calling for updates on progress and they never called back. A waste of time effort and money.. buyer beware. Although windows are in door has never even been processed, Over 5 months holding our money and no door.

The salesman was very good and knowledgeable. The installation crew was very good and professional. Every person in between were horrible. Delay, delay, delay and lie, lie,lie seems to be their business plan. This project has been the most frustrating experience since I started owning homes in 1980. <br> <br>Beware, if you contract with Florida Window and Door, you will be disappointed. <br>

Below is the copy of the letter I sent to the contractor <br /> FLORIDA Window & Door <br /> 7108 Fairway Drive Suite120 <br /> Palm Beach Gardens FL 33418 <br /> This job, discussed below, was <br /> consisting of the replacement of my entrance door with a hurricane <br /> door and the replacement of the window above the door with a <br /> hurricane window. The contract was signed on June 18 2015 <br /> The installers showed up October 1 <br /> 2015, four and a half month later. But before this date several other <br /> days were scheduled around that time. When I called at the end of <br /> day I was told that they can not find the door and have to look for <br /> it in another warehouse. A lady in your office told me that I can <br /> take off $100 from my cost for the inconvenience they caused me. <br /> Originally the salesman told us that we <br /> will get a window with the ?muttin? inside the glass so it will <br /> be easy to clean and the door will come painted white. We were naive <br /> and did not asked him to put this on the contract. By the time I <br /> notice that it was a cheaper window , the ?muttin? was outside <br /> the glass, the installation was done. The door was only primed and <br /> very dirty so I payed $ 190 to a painter to do the door. <br /> The job they did was terrible. One <br /> could hardly close or open the door, the speckling job was very <br /> sloppy, the molding was narrow. Next day I was trying to fix the <br /> sloppy job with no success. I called weeks after weeks to have a <br /> supervisor to come out and look at the job. <br /> In the meantime you sent the building <br /> inspector out three times because each time the job was rejected. <br /> Finally a manager came out and several <br /> weeks later sent out another crew to remove and than refit the door, <br /> remove the molding and install a wider one to cover the sloppy <br /> speckling job. <br /> We still needed the cover for the <br /> screws of the window which was done only after a dozen phone calls <br /> and we also needed a larger weather strip to cover the gap when the <br /> door was closed. It took weeks to get these as well <br /> The job was completed only last week <br /> April 11 2016 after six and a half month of the starting date with <br /> lots of aggravation. <br /> Here is the Issue. I was <br /> applying for a reverse mortgage. To do this I could not have any <br /> outstanding dept. So the loan specialist called you about the <br /> outstanding $ 200 which I wit held ( $100 as I was told and $ 100 <br /> for my extra expenses ) You told him that it is OK and you will <br /> closed the account. So I got the mortgage. I would not be able to get <br /> it otherwise. Apparently you now changed your mined. The whole job <br /> was $ 6635, I believe the $ 200 would not make a major dent in your <br /> profit margin. <br /> I am sending you the $ 200 because it <br /> is no longer worth the aggravation for me. However I am considering <br /> publishing this letter for the others to read because I've never had <br /> such a bad experience in dealing with company like yours and I would <br /> like to prevent others from having the same experience. <br /> <br />

I bought six hurricane windows from Florida Window & <br /> Door after reading good things about them on their site at <br /> FloridaWindowAndDoor.com. After about one year, none of them open or close. I <br /> have tried for months to have Florida Window and Door service them, but the <br /> refuse even though there is supposed to be a 10-year warranty. I scheduled two <br /> service calls with Mandy is the service department, both times the technician <br /> was a no-show - once blaming the weather once blaming car trouble.  <br /> After taking two days off work to wait for the technician <br /> who never showed up, I have called FloridaWindowAndDoor.com numerous times and <br /> they now say the windows are defective but they will not service them because they <br /> blame it on a manufacturer's defect. They tell me I must reach out to the <br /> manufacturer that they do not intend to provide any support at all for the <br /> $13,000 windows that they sold me.  Even <br /> though they told me at the time of sale that they would provide 10 years of <br /> support on the windows that I bought from them. I called Jay Bressler the <br /> FloridaWindowAndDoor.com salesman who sold the windows to me, I learned he no <br /> longer works for Florida Window & Door. He told me that he left the company <br /> because the company stopped providing any post sales service or support on the <br /> product he was selling and he could no longer do business like that. I highly <br /> recommend against purchasing anything from this deceitful company - my Florida <br /> Window and Door Review would give them an F - I am going to have to replace <br /> $13,000 windows that are a little over a year old. <br />

We had new impact windows installed in our home. The office was helpful throughout the order. Installation crew knew what they were doing and the products look great. I would definatly reuse and recommend Florida Window and Door.  <br /> <br />

I REPLACED THE WINDOWS AND DOORS IN MY HOME  BACK IN NOVEMBER AND I <br /> COULD NOT BE MORE PLEASED. MY WINDOWS ARE JUST THE WAY I WANTED THEM AND THE DOORS ARE VERY SECURE. THE SALESMAN BRANDON WAS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE OF THE PRODUCT AND MADE SURE THAT I GOT THE ENERGY EFFICIENCY I WAS LOOKING FOR AND RYAN THE CONSTRUCTION MANAGER TOOK THE TIME TO MAKE SURE THAT MY WINDOWS AND DOORS  WOULD FIT SO THAT I WOULD?T RUN INTO PROBLEMS DURING THE <br /> CONSTRUCTION.  THE WORKERS WERE ALL TIMELY AND PROFESSIONAL. THERE WERE A FEW HICCUPS HERE AND THERE BUT YOU CAN EXPECT THAT IN CONSTRUCTION. FLORIDA WINDOW AND DOOR HANDLED THEM AND GOT THINGS ROLLING AGAIN LIKE WE DIDN?T MISS A STEP. THE OFFICE GIRLS, JODI AND CAROL PULLED <br /> EVERYTHING TOGETHER AND WERE THERE TO ANSWER ANY QUESTION I HAD AND I HAD A LOT <br /> OF QUESTIONS. IN A WHOLE FLORIDA WINDOW AND DOOR HAS MADE REPLACING OF MY WINDOWS IN MY HOME (WHICH IF YOU HAVE EVER DONE IS NOT A PLEASURABLE PROCESS) VERY TOLERABLE AND THE FINISHED PRODUCT <br /> WAS BEAUTIFUL. I WOULD RECOMMEND USING FLORIDA WINDOW AND DOOR FOR ANY OF YOUR WINDOW AND DOOR <br /> NEEDS. <br />

I am very satisfied with the product. The windows and doors are high quality and look great. <br />We had wonderful installers. Jason and Omar were professional and did an outstanding job. <br />They were on time and explained every step. The job took 3 days and they were efficient and worked very well. <br />Went out of their way to be respectful to our home and our 2 dogs. <br />I am very unhappy with the sales Rep Jay Bressler. <br />When he came to our home to do our initial consult and contract he was very nice, and insisted if we had any problems we could contact him directly. <br />He assured us our windows and doors would be installed before we moved in in July. We purchased them in April. <br />No one from his office ever contacted me with any updates or issues. <br />I called them repeatedly. After 6,weeks I was told there would be delays due to manufacturing issues <br />I called weekly because no one kept us updated or kept in touch. <br />When I finally spoke with Jay Bressler he was rude and made excuses, never apologized for the delays, and told me I couldn't cancel due to my contract. <br />Even after I let him know how unhappy I i was at the horrible communication of his staff, it didn't change. <br />We hoped to have our windows and doors done before we moved permanently with our 3 cats and 2 dogs. We even delayed our move by 10 days to accommodate the installation, but it was still delayed. <br />No apologies made by Jay Bressler or his office staff. <br />I am appalled at the unprofessionalism and poor communication of this company. <br /> <br />
