Scheduled fireplace insert three times over 6 months. First time canceled due to emergency. Second time canceled same day because did not have the insert (so scheduled work twice without actually having insert)..Today, scheduled for after 2 PM work. No show. No call. No response. If they happen to come, will update review Currently, Flue Tech appears to be just a big joke. Would not trust them to clean my floor, much less fix something that could burn your home down.

Within a week coating peeled off Struggled to get them back recoated Remote start then failed and they came back and fixed it (after several calls) 6 months later remote start mechanism not working again Have given them multiple times for return and they have cancelled x2 and last time didn’t Even show up As a physician used to being exact I’m shocked they are still in business Very disorganized Disappointed can not recommend

It was very nice! They were accommodating, and clean.

Service Technicians arrived on time and ready to work. Executed the job professionally. Informed me when it was completed as well and cleaned up afterwards.

I hired FlueTech to repair my discontinued gas log fireplace based on the good reviews here. I had a completely different experience with them, feeling they were either grossly incompetent, or possibly dishonest (in order to sell a more expensive service). I'm not sure which, but either way I give them an F rating for total failure. They said the PILOT LIGHT didn't go on (it did but they didn't bother to put a match to it as the affixed label clearly states to do), that it would be $1500 to repair IF they could find original manufacturer parts, but they couldn't (working parts are readily available on the Internet from other manufacturers). Their only resolve for me was to put in a new insert at a cost of $10,000-$15,000 with permits. I declined. I recounted the above to a manager who waived the bill for the service call and said he'd look in to my complaint and call me back. Never heard from him again, after almost 3 weeks. I then hired MR. CHIMNEY. Mike was knowledgeable, honest and quickly diagnosed my unit and got it working. It was a simple fix, I just needed a new receiver and remote at a cost of $369. Even though my model is older and discontinued he came prepared with all the parts on his truck. I highly recommend using Mr. Chimney and steering clear of FlueTech.

Flue Tech was great- on time, courteous, professional and got the chimney cleaned efficiently. A little higher priced than some others were offering but worth it, especially as there was no attempted upselling services.

Great. Mike was thorough, efficient, and listened carefully. He was very interested in figuring out what was wrong. My fireplace had been shutting off intermittently. Mike checked all very carefully, downloaded the instruction manual for my system, and we decided to see if his cleaning and realigning solved the problem. So far it has. If not, I will certainly ask for him to return and replace the suspected bad part. All in all, highly recommended.

Excellent work very nice and professional

Flue Tech installed a stainless steel chimney liner and an Enervex fan for the building which was required for proper draft. Although the fan required electrical wiring they refused to get involved with the wiring. We later had problems with the system and Flue Tech has blamed it on the electrician. They tell us it's a very simple fix but they again won't get involved with even low-voltage wiring! It is hugely disappointing that a so-called professional chimney installation company doesn't have the in-house capability of even doing low-voltage wiring for the systems they install. If a proper chimney installation requires the use of a fan, the company should have the capability of hooking it up. This would be the equivalent of a boiler company installing a new boiler for you and saying, "hey, we'll install the boiler, but you have to find your own guy to do the wiring for the boiler and all the controls and don't call us if you have a problem!" We would never use this company again on anything that required wiring of any kind.

Not very good. He came and look at it. Change some wires. I'm not sure if he was very knowledgeable with my fireplace. The switch that turn it on and off, he removed it completely and not said anything. I also had two switches which he took my part with them and left the panel with a hole in, where the switch show through. Never told me he was taking it out or told me that he is taking them. He show me the bill on his IPhone and I had sign it. With no info on it about service. After he left, called them to explain the bill. I asked for the receipt from them. I received it bill but it was not itemized for the service.

From the initial cleaning and safety inspection of my chimney, to the two days of major repairs, Flue Tech was professional, competent, caring and amazingly efficient. Their years of experience and Angie’s list ratings made me confident in contacting them and that confidence turned to trust as a result of their first visit to my home and subsequent work. Mike and Dave arrived at my home at the scheduled time and proceeded to clean and inspect my chimney. Following a lengthy and illustrated (pictures were taken) inspection, Mike discussed his findings and outlined options, seeking to contain cost without sacrificing quality or safety. He confirmed what I had already suspected, that my leaking chimney had several structural problems which required attention. Agreeing on a course of action, with an itemized list of steps and cost to remedy the situation, I scheduled the work. Flue Tech’s office kept me apprised of work dates and confirmed arrival times of the work team each day. Kevin and Dan (the work team) arrived at my home and made sure I understood every aspect of what they would be doing over the two day period. They treated my home as if it was theirs, carefully covering and taping all areas in the vicinity of the fireplace and, when entering my den from outside, used shoe covers to avoid tracking in any debris. I watched as they patiently and professionally worked on the chimney in oppressively hot weather conditions. They were totally focused on the work making sure each task was completed according to plan and always going the extra mile to make sure I was satisfied. Their cleanup was extremely thorough and before leaving Kevin provided pictures of the completed work and asked if I had any questions or concerns. He told me to contact them should any issues arise. It was a true pleasure working with these two professionals. Flue Tech is now my “go to” company for all chimney related work and I give them my highest recommendation.

The techs who came out were very good. They were very careful to make sure they did not track in dirt and did an excellent job of cleanup. There seemed to be a little miscommunication between the person who came out to do the estimate, the office, and the one who did the work. However, when we showed him the estimate, he did do all that was on it.

What a wonderful experience! Nick did a perfect job refacing my ugly, brick fireplace. He was polite and listened to my vision of what I wanted the fireplace to look like.
